reshad feild, man of inspiration
First, it was amazing that this book was on the quick pick list. I hope this opens the door to the teachings of Reshad Feild. Inspired is an overworked word, and yet this describes this book. It is written in short chapters covering a multitude of subjects such as Knowledge, Respect, Breath, Consciousness. In the chapter called Recognition, he says: "When we are grateful we can see....When we are grateful, light fills our hearts and we are able to see the world as it truly is, the wonder that it truly is. Love fills our hearts. PErhaps one day we will be in love all the time; what a possibility. Well, we can, we all can be in love. Then, wherever we stand is holy ground." (Page 42.) I was honored to attend a Zikr in Santa Fe where Reshad was the leader. It was a wonderful evening. He is a Sufi and espouses the philosophy beautifully without trying to proselytize. A wonderful book to keep, to underline, to re-read and to share.

Absorbing, inspiring and practical guide to a spiritual life
As the last of a trilogy about his spiritual journey, Reshad Feild again tells an absorbing story of Truth, based on his study and living of the Sufi Way. Better than a novel, fascinating in all its details, it deserves a place in anyone's library. He is harbinger of the 21st century's awakening to a larger spiritual life. He is also down-to-earth and humorous at times. He has the heart of a poet, and he has lots of Heart. An outstanding read. His previous autobiographical books are "The Last Barrier" and "The Invisible Way."

Extraordinary Conversations
Finding this book in print is like finding an insider's multi-million dollar stock tip in the pages of the Wall Street Journal, or an original Rembrandt etching at a yard sale. Such things aren't supposed to happen. But when they do, the finder is perversely negligent not to take advantage of them.
We all know that the way to learn an art or a skill is to apprentice to a master, and this is truest of all in the case of the ultimate art - the art of becoming fully human, becoming what Jesus and St. Paul called "perfect", "completed". However, though it's easy to find a fine surgeon or an expert carpenter, it's not so easy to locate a reliable teacher in the realm of the spirit. The field is full of frauds since so few of us are equipped to judge true quality. And instruction in this art is usually private and secret, for good and sufficient reasons. The fate of those who go public can be unhappy.
Here is the autobiographical record of a young British pop musician who went east on a spiritual journey. So far not unusual. He found a capable teacher who was not a fraud and was willling to talk: less usual. And he took notes! He took copious notes, and put the record of his experiential learning into a book, and this book is available on the internet.
Only in these strange times, when, as Jesus said, there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing whispered in a private room that will not be shouted from the rooftops, could such a thing be possible.
Thank goodness that Reshad went looking, that Bulent was willing to teach, that Reshad took notes, and that Lindisfarne Press has brought the book out again. It contains instructions for learning to live, a skill most of us are still beginners at.

An excellent book towards the true discovery of the TRUTH
This book left me with a lot of unsolved mysteries and questions but at the same time encouraged me to change my way of life and think more towards the truth of life. I read the 1st edition of this book that includes the name of his wife in the dedication list. It is not there in the latest edition. I am surprise and left with another question because as he says nothing happens accidentally! If someone know Mr. Field address, tel, or email, Please let me know. Thanks Mehdi ul Hasnain S. Qadr

An Interesting Story ...
What I found most interesting about this book is the way it expresses decree & fate showing that things just don't happen but rather there is always a purpose with a sense of unity behind things.

However, non Muslims, should be very careful while reading this book of mistaking it with Islamic beliefs. For example, according to Islamic beliefs, prophet Jesus (may peace be upon him) was not crucified but rather he was raised to heaven. One should not be dealing with this book as an Islamic book at all, but I'd rather classify it as new age and spirituality.

The book also touches on some Eastern religions & Sufi ideas like unity with the divine: "there were two butterflies and when they meet one of them died," but never elaborated on it!

A Sufi approach to gnosticism
I found this book fascinating, and read it three times before feeling like I really "got it" --- it is a simple narrative with deep, multiple levels of meaning. Although the word is never used, this book is a witness to the validity of gnosticism, the idea that it is possible for a human to directly experience God, or Allah, and the truth of Divine Love --- and that the path to such experience does not necessarily lead through a particular religion. The story demonstrates skillfully the relationship of "faith" and "trust" and "knowing" --- that ultimately each is a level of aligning more and more closely with the Divine.

Spiritual Adventure Story
This book is great! I read it over a year ago and much of the imagery is still right here with me, partly due to Feild's descriptive prose, but partly due to his strong beautiful message and captivating story. The spiritual truths revealed in this novel of a man's spiritual search in the land of the Sufis can be an inspiration to the seeker of today, in whatever culture he or she happens to be. Great reading!

Mr. Feild's spiritual practices explained from earlier books
Reshad Feild continues his story of his spiritual journey through Sufism as told in his earlier books, "The Infinite Way" and "The Last Barrier." However, this is not a book writen in the same style as the previous two books mentioned. This is a "How to" book about the spiritual practices mentioned in his earlier books.

In Here To Heal, Mr. Feild breaks down some of his specific spiritual practices that existed as elements in the earlier story line. He explains, in depth, the "7 breath" which he was taught as a form of practicing concious awareness during his friends death. He talks about not healing someone with out their "permission". He talks about the importance of keeping the home prepared for "The Guest" and he talks about a type of earth healing ritual (geomancy).

In his earth healing practice he performs a healing ritual for the earth by inserting large copper and iron rods - similar to accupunture needles, in various places where the earths energy has been left unbalanced. An example is when he descibes takeing his students to a location that has a "bad" feeling in the air. One student says she can smell blood and seemen. The air temperature is described as colder in this one area. After he inserts the rods in the right places, birds beging to flock to a nearby tree. The temperature warms. Life has been restored. Later they hear that a murder had taken place somewhere near the spot the found.

Here To Heal serves more as a manual on the healing styles of Mr. Feild than an easily read story. If you were drawn to his journey and would like to know more about his practises, this book is for you.
