My kids have each, in turn, been read (and read themselves) this adorable book. It is equally loved by boys and girls. The drawings and descriptions of the family's pet cat are so "true" and humorously depicted, that you will recognize your own cat in the story. In our family, it was as popular as was "Pat the Bunny" and "Goodnight Moon" when they were younger.

I was extremely excited about getting this book, knowing that it would introduce my child to several different languages. I was quite disappointed, however, to find that there are errors in the pronunciation spelling for the Japanese language. The book shows "l" where there should be "r" (Japanese people don't even use "l"s!), and there are other errors as well. This leaves me doubting the accuracy of the translation/pronunciation of other languages in this book. How unfortunate!-- the concept of this book showed so much promise!

I am not badmouthing this writer in the least, but he should be more eduacted if he were to write a children's book. No one imagines that what you tell a child when they are young, sticks with them. If they imagine wolves to be scary, fiersome creatures, they will always fear them. You must all understand that wolves are gentle, loving creatures and would have a less chance of hurting you than your own household dog would.

this book seems to be like so many other stories that we haved told our children that are completle lies. this book once again makes the wolf look like the bad guy. people should know that the wold does not and has never attacked humans. that we are the bad guys. we have to stop putting these fables into our childrens head. we need to show the children and adults how Great the wolf truly is

I've been looking for a book to educate children on the truth about wolves, and this is it.

The goofy illustrations of the wolf make it easier to convince children that wolves are vermin that should be exterminated. Let's hope the author and illustrator will do the same for coyotes and grizzlies.
