Warm and sentimental
Despite the fact that my daughter is 13 and well past the recommended age group for reading this book, I couldn't resist adding this heartwarming book to our library. It is a testament to the unconditional love that a mother has for a child. It is a book to last through generations.

Wonderfull! Beautifully written & awesome illustration!
This is a very, very touching & heartwarming book! My children and I loved it..!!!!! Makes your heart sing...as a Mother that is! Loved it and the illustrater was the BEST!!!!!

Mothers everywhere will understand this book perfectly
As a mother of 5 children I appreciated the perfect love this mother had for her child. No matter in what condition the mother found herself she still looked after her precious child. The author has a perfect understanding of what it means to be a mother.

A wonderful tool for all of us
I have two teenage daughters, and I wish so much that this book would have been around in their younger years. The illustrations in this book make it come alive. Marsha Carrington skillfully captures each emotion with her warm, wonderful, and touching illustrations. She is an illustrator I expect big things from in the future.

Wonder book to share
As a librarian, I am always looking for a great book to share with young children. When I give a tour of our public library to a first grade class, I include a story. This one is wonderful because in a class of 20-30 students, not everyone is feeling the same. Sharing this story is easy since all children can relate to the emotions shown - from proud as a peacock to the race car to the flatteed balloon. The artwork takes you to a new dimension in expressing the feelings.

Great Resource to Help Explain Emotions to Children
This is a must for anyone who deals with children, whether it be parent, teacher, pediatrician, etc. The illustrations are in tune with the storyline, making it easy for the young child to take part in explaining the story. "Why am I angry or sad or happy" can be a difficult concept for children. It is important that they know it is ok. I highly recommend this for all children. Professionals who work with children would also find it helpful. Great Work on a subject that is often overlooked in children.

A wonderful book!
Although it says for ages 4-8 my 2 year old adores this book and has (after only one week) completely memorized the Japanese, French, and Russian sections. In my opinion, toddlers as well as older children would benefit from this book.

Wonderful and Educational!
My children love this book! They are excited about learning the different languages and ask for things using the numbers they have learned. Evans has done a great job with the difficult pronunciations and Roche's illustrations are fun.

The words bring the summer rain storms of childhood back.
If I close my eyes and have someone read the words of this delightful book to me I can feel the rain coming, then soon, I can almost smell it. Then it hits, how I remember the furry of my own childhood storms. I remember pulling on boots and going outside to wade in the puddles like the two little girls in the illustrations. A delightful book, very visual language. I loved it.

A wonderful book for children
A masterpiece in use of the "whole language" teaching concept. A MUST for your school or personal collection!

Snowy
Evans' melodic verse brings to life this wonderful celebration of winter. Her rhyming words will get your heart pumping and your feet jumping..."Skipping, prancing happy dancing hoping snow will come our way, We are whirling swirling, twirling begging flakes to come and stay." Can't you feel it? As the forcast predicts snow, the children sing and dance in hopes it will come. For with snow brings fun and excitment, and a chance for no school! Through watercolor Cynthia Jabar successfully portrays the story. You feel the children's joy as the snow is forecasted, you see the fun the snow brings as the children sled ride, make snowman, and have snowball fights, and you capture the warmth of the fire awaiting them at home. This is a marvelous book that will keep your children's spirits soaring.

Spend a wonderful day in the snow!
This book is wonderful! The reader is taken through an afternoon of wishing for snow which turns into the next day of school cancelled and a fun day of playing in the snow. The rhyming text and illustrations are very pleasing and bring back many memories of snow days and all the fun associated with them. My whole family enjoys this book, one that can be read over and over.

Fun for parents and kids.
This is one of those books you won't mind reading over and over. It's as much a pleasure to read the clever, flowing rhymes as it is to hear them. My 2-1/2-year-old daughter loves this book even though she probably doesn't really remember the snow from last winter and we haven't had any yet this winter. A real winner at our house!
