One of the best books from my childhood in the sixties. It changed my life. I still consider it the model for an introductory overall fishing book. A great author and illustrator.

A great and thorough book about surf fishing by one of my all-time favorite fishing authors. Mr. Evanoff is the surf fisherman I've always aspired to be.

It had great depth, and content. The guide of lures to use is also great. I caught lots of fish and other things using this great guide.

Beginning anglers will find a wealth of information on just about any species of fresh or saltwater fish and the techniques and equipment to catch them. However, experienced anglers will be left wanting more details, although even they will find useful items. The tips and tricks presented are short and often general. The material is somewhat dated, and the format is jumbled. There are numerous illustrations, mostly showing how to rig baits and lures. For the price, it is a good book and every angler will benefit, but beginners will benefit the most.
