A top-flight book of a complex subject
A truly comprehensive book, enjoyable to both read and look through. It covers the history and scope of air travel, including airport and aircraft design, corporate identities and marketing in a thorough, extensive and compelling manner. It is distinctive in how it successfully melds a global scope and a focused perspective.

Excellent
This book is an excellent overview of the history of civil aviation, terminals, and airfields. The attention to detail, both photographic and linguistic, is marvelous and provides a wonderful account of airport design. The faithfulness to the original traveling photo exhibit allows readers the opportunity to experience the cultural presentation alongside the historical reconstruction. All in all, a wonderful book for any aviation fan.

Building for Air Travel: A must have!
BfAT is one of the most intriguing books you'll find about airports. It covers a lot of airport design aspects- but it is not an engineering book. In other words, you won't have to face boring charts and graphs. All you get is interseting texts, divided into differnt issues, and many rare and beautiful pictures. If you really like airports- you should have this book.

It is excellent!
"It is excellent" - Bill Knudsen, U.S. Space Foundation

An excellent resource
"We [The Young Astronaut Council] believe it to be an excellent resource for all those interested in a career in aerospace. The book presents its information in a clear, logical, step-by-step manner that will be especially helpful to those who think they may be interested in a career in space, but are unfamiliar with the wide rage of posssibilities and opportunities.

We liked the "where we have been, where we are going, and how it is organized" approach. The book offered excellent resournces in terms of educational institutions, businesses, government, and private sector information. the book provides those interested in a career in space with a means of self-examination and tips on landing a job"

A valuable tool
"This publication is a valuable tool for young people interested in learning what space-related academic programs, career paths, and professional development opporutnities are available to them", Kara Wilson, Aerospace States Association, Deputy Director

An Enlightening Outlook
Scott Strauss and David K. Leonard marvelously delinate the African quagmire with a sense of optomism and honesty. The book boldy breaks down a myriad of preconcieved misconceptions and offers a scholarly aproach that shows the potential for a rebirth of the African continent. Many thanks to these brilliant men.

Deutsches Woerterbuch 33 vols.

Excellent analysis of how good management comes about.
The lives of 4 Kenyan bureaucrats are used as the backdrop of a scholarly analysis of success in African policy. Policy meets biography and I left much the wiser for the experience. Why did these men care to "do the right thing", what gave them ability to do so, and what did they learn? After you read about Napoleon, Kennedy or Lincoln, come down to earth and read about how average people changed the lives of their country-men in an environment where so few have succeeded.

Attention Lovecraftian Horror Fans
This is the eleventh book in Chaosium's Cthulhu Cycle series. This volume features tales of Lovecraft's most well-known creation, the octopus-headed entity, Cthulhu. Included are the foundational stories (i.e. "The Call Of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft and "The Black Island" by August W. Derleth), some rare reprints (i.e. "Some Notes Concerning A Green Box" by Alan Dean Foster) and some interesting new stories of Cthulhu in the modern world (i.e. "Rude Awakening" by Will Murray). In any collection the stories are of varied quality but I enoyed the majority of the works collected. If you are a reader of Lovecraft's Mythos fiction then this is a must for your library.

the best dive book ever
I don't know that I've ever read a better dive book or travel guide. The author covers every minute detail, and somehow, it still reads well--a fascinating and well-treated subject. David Leonard shows great wit and a solid knowledge of his subject.

The photographs are amazing, too.

Journal, Volume 4 : 1851-1852

A day by day look at Thoreau
"Oct. 22nd, 1837. 'What are you doing now?' he asked, 'Do you keep a journal?'-- So I make my first entry today." Thus begins Thoreau's Journal, made up of more then two million words and covering about twenty-five years of his life. No other work of Thoreau's better exhibits his discipline as a writer and his devotion to the natural world. In the Journal can be found the fragmented foundations of masterpieces such as Walden, A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers, The Maine Woods, and Cape Cod. But what is perhaps more interesting to a reader of Thoreau's Journal are his thoughts and insights on topics such as friendship, love, religion, nature, bravery, heroism, war, slavery, the art of writing, and, most important to Thoreau, the art of living. Anyone with any interest in Thoreau will find his Journal to be an invaluable aid in understanding and following the life of one of America's most profound prose writers
