A very inspiring book!
Written for needlework lovers, I am a quilter, every aspect of needlework is included. The illustrations are clear; the print, while not black, is easy to read. The chapter arrangement and content is good. So much to enjoy with scripture, story illustration, questions to think about, the prayer, and the needlework tips. It is refreshing!

Precious Daughters!
I bought this book for my daughter's seventh birthday. We have used it over and over again! She absolutely loves it and feel very special when we read it out loud. The stories relate to where she is right now and has helped create warm memories. It even compliments her reading level and has encouraged her to learn about God. The heart shaped necklace is a bonus to this darling book.

Get this Country turned back to God!
This book took me back to 1st grade when we were still allowed to sing "God Bless America" and other historic songs that kids today don't even know because they mention the word GOD! A wonderful little book, it reminded me of how far we've come and how high we've climbed but also how far we've come down the other side of the hill. I truly wish that our kids don't have to be ignorant of the heritage that allowed the foundation of this great country of ours, and that heritage is grounded in the Bible. This book is a gentle reminder of that basic truth. I'm glad my wife picked this book up for me, she picked a definite winner.

Inspirational
This little book is wonderful. I have used it for inspirational programs for the American Legion Auxiliary. Anyone who has faith in the USA should have a copy. It will restore your faith in God and in this great land of ours. Makes a great gift, too.

For Such A Time As This
We need to put this book in the hands of every student in Elem., High School and college. This book tells of the heritage of our country, and why God has blessed America. If we want America to continue being blessed by God we need to heed the lessons from history.

Decorating Tips from Jesus
I was a bit surprised, when I started reading this book, to find several references to Christianity interspersed with interior-design advice. In a section about bartering for services, for instance, the authors describe barter as "the family of Christ working together." I happen to be Christian myself, but I found that a little peculiar!

Nonetheless, there are some great tips throughout. The authors demonstrate that with a little simple sewing or refinishing, or just "the Christian attribute of patience," you can have a comfortable, elegant house that's just your style without spending a lot. I learned quite a bit and would recommend the book to anyone who's not fazed by the religious references.

101 ways to loose money
This book jumped around from mostly different careers, such as: making bird houses(start up costs $1000-2000), sewing quilts (start up $1-500), specialty dress maker (start up $500), chimney sweep (start up $1000), computer tutoring (start up $1500-2500),technical writing (start up $1000-2500), telephone answering service (start up $1500-3000), developmental editing (start up $1500-2500), and computer programming ($2500-6000). All of these ideas and most of the others in the book, seem to be more like careers and not ways to earn extra cash from the garage of your home. All of these take education or practical experience and know how and most require a substantial start up cost. I do not recommend buying this book, but instead looking in the want ads of your local newspaper for something in which you are qualified.

This is an excellent "you-can-do-it" kind of motivator.
I had no idea there were so many ways one could successfully work from home, and do it profitably. Gwen gives such good, practical and specific advice--not just pie in the sky. Thanks for writing "101 Ways..." Gwen! MH of California

Family Fun with the Bible and Christianity
Wow! I can't believe I purchased this book--knowingly and willingly! Had I known it was a guide on how to turn just about every family event into "fun and games with the Bible and Christianity", I certainly wouldn't have. Yikes!!! It's jam-packed with references to Christianity, including Bible quotes, and preaches that everyone's neighbors should be Christian! If not, Ellis urges the reader to organize a family proselytizing event so the neighbors can discover the error of their ways! Does Ellis have any clue that there are other religions, not to mention atheists and agnostics in the world? I think not! She actually opens her family holiday chapter with "Is there a man, woman, boy, or girl alive who does not love Christmas?"!! This is more than offensive! I do, however, give the book one star on behalf of any fundamentalist Christian readers that want help designing every aspect of their family's life around Christianity.

So much you can do with your family
It gives lots of ideas where you can go with your family but not what you can do as a family inside of your own home. It also has great tips such as planning and writing stuff down on a calendar or in a notebook. What I didn't like about this book was there was some infomation that wasn't even related to family fun.

A bargain of a book!
I first got Big Book of Family Fun at the library, and soon had to get a copy for myself. Granted, the title is a little misleading in that it is not a book of nothing but fun ideas for family togetherness, however, the ideas that are in it are invaluable. Most of the time, we lack the time for "family fun" because we're too busy doing housework, but her suggestions for managing the house are very doable. The best idea was how to "collect" intangibles, like collecting waterfalls, that do more for making memories than any present you buy the kids. A good, solid resource to have in the home.
