A Blessing to help along the way
A dear friend gave me this book after the sudden death of my beloved husband. For a few weeks, I couldn't even open it. Once I did though I found an invaluable way to help me remember Mike and to put into words all of those little things that were so much a part of our relationship. I have recommended it to my grief support group and will cherish the memories it has helped me capture.

Angel Catcher
It's been almost six months since my dad died, and I feel like everyone has moved on except me. His death has really taken it's toll on me, I cry at the drop of a hat these days, I find myself struggling to make it through the day,and I feel a depression that I just can't shake. I feel alone in my grief, and that is compounded by the people around me telling me that I should "be over it" by now. I feel that I haven't even touched my pain yet. I saw this book at the bookstore and couldn't put it down. I read the introduction and started crying right there in the bookstore. The book explained in the Introduction what I was feeling but couldn't put into words. It is helping me cope with the death of the man I thought was immortal. I bought copies for everyone in my family.

To Laugh..To Cry..To Remember..To Grieve.
My mother died from pancreatic cancer a year ago. We knew that it was inevitable. I found this book while I was looking for literature on how to deal with a terminally ill loved one. When I opened it up and started to read it, I cried. I had not yet lost my mother but as I read I was able to face what was coming - knowing that I had been able to share in her life and that our relationship was special.

I didn't buy the book that day. I came back to it many times, especially during the rough times. After a hard day I was able to go to the book store and flip through its pages and remember all the wonderful times. The day after my mother passed away I bought the book and have written in it everyday since. My memories are alive within it. It has helped me through the times when I couldn't tell anyone else how I felt.

This book allows you to put your feelings into words. It prompts you to consider things about your loss that you may have never explored on your own. It is wonderful.

The Journey Is the Destination: The Journals of Dan Eldon
If you are expecting an extensive journal of his life adventures, you will be disappointed, as I was somewhat. It is more a work of art, a collage or scrapbook of several trips. His writing and handwritten notes are few and short. But, for me, it instantly became an idea of one more way I can remember my 17 year old daughter who died this past August. I had already started putting scrapbooks together, so this book gave me more creative ways to do it! My Juli had also written in a few journals, and now I see a creative way to put pieces of them together as a story of her life with photos, her art work and some memorabilia. Yes, a collage book is developing at my house, but without the expense of publishing it! Creative memories can mean more lasting memories! Thanks for the idea Kathy Eldon!

"The journey" is an inspiration
I initially bought this book for my girlfriend. She is a graphic designer and she was lyrical about it. Now I am the one who reads it the most. The nice thing about "The Journals of Dan Eldon" is that every time you pick it up, it says something different, you see new things. That's because he was such an allround and grown-up artist already. It is a book that makes you want to live your life as intense and open and adventurous as possible. It is very sad he died at such a young age and it is a great loss to the world of art, but with these journals, his death has been given a meaning.

Book Review
The Journey is the Destination: the Journals of Dan Eldon is a fabulous work. After my art teacher showed me this book, I went out and got it for myself. It shows the life and thoughts of a person who did great things during his short time on earth. The art is amazing, humerous, and thought provoking. It interested me and also made me want to do something to help those who need my help in other places such as Africa. The journals of Dan Eldon made me want to explore, help, create, and live my life to its fullest. If you would like a look at a very talented person who helped others while living a very interesting and entertaining life, this is a great book.

good
It's a shame Kathy(his mother) never wrote this book.
By far the most imtimate and well written part of this book was the last chapter that Kathy Eldon wrote.
Obviously Jennifer New loves Dan's life like we all do but unfortuneatly she never met him and that glaringly stands out in the biography. There is way too much creative license here, the fact he is raised to almost sainthood can be squeemish at times.Jennifer's writing leaves a lot to be desired, but through the clumsy writing you can't helped but be inspired by the life of Dan Eldon.
Dan is amazing!! His photos say more about him than any bunch of words can. 'The Journey is the destination" is a must have book!!
Flip through that and I guarentee your life will be changed forever!

My goodness
The books is amazing. I was doing an internet search and happened to come across Dan Eldon's web site. After which I saw his journals and then purchased this book. Gosh, I left so inspired. I recommend this to any person that is ever in doubt on where they should be heading in life. Great transition book.

For those who thought passion was a thing of the past...
Sometimes in life, we come across somebody who resembles in us everything we love, or envy, or just understand. Well, while reading "The Art of Life", a story about the travels of the young and corageous Dan Eldon, I stumbled upon all of these emotions and more. The book, a collaboration of work about Dan's travels, views, and passions, written by jennifer New and Kathy Eldon, is sure to spark a fire in each who reads it. This book is filled with more energy and spirit then I think I have ever possesed in all my years of being. Filled with colorful photographs and intelligent words, this story has been like a symphony to my weary eyes. After reading "The Journey is the Destination: The Journals of Dan Eldon" (the first book published about Dan's miraculous travels and premature demise), I thought to myslef, "nothing could possibly be more beautiful or enchanting than this." I was proven wrong as soon as my hands glided over the pages of "The Art of Life". It has been wonderful to read while sitting outside in a park on a warm afternoon, as well as inside on a rainy day when you feel all hope is lost. It has been a glorious gift, reminding me that all which stands around us is something to celebrate. My only hope is that others, even if it is one small being, find this book....it will open up a genuine desire for life in you, that is sure to last for as long as you stand beneath the blue sky which hangs above.

This isn't a Good book, It's a GREAT one.
I'm 25, African American, and a single mom. Somewhere in my twenties, I got sidetracked and put off everything I ever wanted to do.

Just browsing the net one day, I came across this book which absolutely encourages and inspires me to jot down my goals, dreams, aspirations, and stick to them.

I would recommend this book to all.........

Well planned and thought out, a participants book.
What I like about this book is that it does ask but not necessarly needs your participation. There are little jobs to do and postings and art. It's very well planned meaning to me the authors really have a wishful intent. As with all good products this book demonstrates a theme which in fact is serviceable to the majority. That is rare! The fact the theme sticks with finding who you really are rather than changing who you are, is so intelligently relayed and has impact. This is not a book that will give you ideas of how to be someone else, but can offer you change if something is not in order. I wish to also recommend a good unbiased non religious approach at this same subject, SB: 1 Or God by Karl Maddox

It help me change my life!
I still can't answer some questions from the book! That's how much I'm getting to know myself. I have given the book to friends and they are loving it as well.
