Lupe Luna - A Hit with 19 Kindergarteners
Helping my wife out with her kingergarten class was sometimes just dreary paperwork. But one of the highlights was reading stories to the kids. One Friday, after I finished Guadalupe asked if I would read another story the next week. Of course I told her "Yes." I searched Amazon.com for a children's book with her name in the title and came up with Lupe Luna (in Spanish.) I don't speak Spanish, but can read it. Especially in this simplified style. The kids loved the book, which is about an adventuours little pig (with pig tails) who wants to stay up "Toda La Noche!" And each time she had an adventure it would end with that phrase. The kids could not get enough of it. They would repeat that phrase, which is used 7 or 8 times. And when the book was over it was "Read it again." (Of course, these kids spoke Spanish.)

Melody Mooner Takes Lessons (All books in the Mooner Series)
My 2 year old son loves these books. We have the whole "Mooner" series and several other books by Frank Edwards. After just reading the books a few times, he could read it back almost word for word just by looking at the pictures. The books are repeatative, perfect for young children. I would recommend these books to anyone. They are great.

A Great Beginning for a Beginning Reader!
My daughter, while barely four, devours books. We've been working on phonics and found the basic level of this beginning reader wonderful. She was reading it back to her Father the same night! The author repeats words throughout the book making words easier to identify for young readers. Truth be told, it was the illustrations with their brilliant colors that first captured my daughters attention. The frog experiences a range of emotions that open doors for conversation about how she might have felt in the same situation. Even as an adult, I enjoyed the book and the feeling of watching your child develop a new skill is priceless.

Problemas con Burbujas
I have two other books in spanish by this author and my four year old loves them. this is a very simple story of animals at the zoo that need to take a bath. The first two pages have some vocabulary words. If you want your kids to learn spanish than this is a good one to start out with because it is short, simple, and funny.

A FUN book for young children!
My almost 3-year-old loves this book and the others in the series! The language is simple and he thinks he is reading the book himself since he has it memorized. My 6-year-old was able to read the books to his brother! Small children will love this book series especially if they like animals. It may be a bit too repetitious for older children.

Is the Spaghetti Ready?
I learned that when the folks came up and asked for food, the lady gaeve them food! More and More animals came up! The lady asked them why they were not eating! They said, "We were waiting for you! She came to the table and they ate together!

An extremely boring little book
I read about this book in an amazon customer review that was attached to another book, so I got this. Mistake! Iwas hoping to get some ideas and inspiration, but all I found here was a lineup of depressing little homes. And mostly in beiges and brown. I couldn't wait to escape from the pages of this book. Also, the book's title suggests that this will be about cottages, in general, but it's about San Francisco area cottages. If you want cottage-style decorating, this is not the book for you. It won't help you much if you want to build a new cottage either. it's more like a little term paper on one region's homes.

Less is more in this small book about small homes...
I liked the book. Its not a builder's treatise nor a decorator's reference, but it contains elements of both, with a little landscape design thrown in for good measure. Its an abbreviated look at the essence of cottage living, what makes the cottage lifestyle unique and (for some) worthwhile. And it's illustrated with a cross-section of styles from the San Francisco Bay area, from Maybeck to Modern, Victorian to Houseboat.

I find the photos relaxing, informative, and inspiring. The text is thought-provoking without being pseudo-intellectual, enthusiastic without being preachy. The book seeks to examine the pro's and con's of cottage living in less than 1000 sq. ft., and to portray the beauty in these San Francisco gems.

The book, like the cottage lifestyle it espouses, is neither large nor showy, but will be appreciated by those who would trade size and complexity for style with an open air of honest simplicity, who prefer herb tea over canned soda pop, who understand the essence of the artist's dictum "less is more".

The classic book on San Francisco Bay Area cottages
I am a native San Franciscan living in a middle-of-the-block cottage in what the author calls "that quirky San Francisco tradition of a back yard house." With the assistance of Sally B. Woodbridge's excellent historical introduction, Richard Sexton describes our San Francisco Bay Area cottages perfectly. The superb photographs complement quotes from some of the owners regarding what they think about their cottages: "Living in a cottage is somewhat like living on a ship. One learns to be very selective about possessions. The trade-off is the uniqueness of the living experience." And "Finding your cottage is like Goldilocks finding the chair that is just right. It wraps around you in cozy fashion and all seems right with the world." I've given copies of this book to friends who live elsewhere because it captures not only the joy of living in one of these cottages but helps all of us, no matter where we live, gain a better sense of home.

Hilarious series of misadventures!!!
Frogger has a babysitting duty to fulfill. Mr. and Mrs. Troth are already uncertain about letting Frogger babysit their children but what will happen to them when Cigar Davis comes back to town and helps Frogger watch the terrible twins? What problems will Frogger face on his first day of babysitting? What will become of the humble town of Tichburg? I found this book very interseting and I would recommend it to anybody between the ages of 8 and 15!

Pretty Funny
This book is about a clumsy twelve year old boy named Frogger who feels that he needs to help out in the community. But when Frogger's involved, here's what happens...Trouble! One day, a ich family moves in down the street. In this family were two troublemakers: Kenny and Kerry. But it turns out that without meaning to, Frogger saves Kenny. He didn't even know them! The children pleaded to their mother . They wanted Frogger to be their new babysitter. The first day of Frogger's new job is a mess. An old man named Cigar Davis came to the house in which Frogger was babysitting and claimed that he used to live in it and he wanted some of his childhood treasures. Read about all of the messes poor Frogger gets into in this hilarious book!

In choosing to go into the field of Microscopy, I found it hard to get friends and family to understand what some of the things were that we could see with the Electron Microscope. With this book they have come to realize what it is that I am talking about. The kids all think it's cool.

The More the Merrier
My 5 year old daughter absolutely loved this book about a farmer on his way to the fair who picks up animals along the way also headed to the fair. She was amused to see the cow sitting in the truck, chuckled at the sheep, but roared at the reaction of the farmer when the pigs joined the merry group. This story truly is a road to fun.
