ANASTASIA..great series
ANASTASIA books were made in the 80's and I wish that I had known they existed,I would have loved them as a kid even more than I do now.It is a fun, interesting ,sometimes hilarious series based on a bright young girl and her loving family, the Krupnicks. This novel focuses on Anastasia as she is left to take care of her little brother by herself, for a while.

Anastasia On Her Own
Anastasia On Her Own is a wonderful book. It starts out slow, but then it gets really exciting. With the help of her friends, Anastasia survives being 13. I couldn't put it down. You could read it in one sitting. This is one of the series of books about Anastasia by Lois Lowry. All of the Anastasia books are wonderful.

The best Anastasia book in the series
I have always loved the Anastasia books. I think that they are quite funny and are very realistic. I think that this book is the best in the series. This book is very funny when dealing with Anastasia's problems and pitfalls. Overall a terrific book.

Valentine's Day with a Message
Gilbert has a real dilemma. He's writing poems on his Valentine cards, for his classmates, but doesn't want to write something nice to Lewis and Margaret. Lewis tweaked his nose and made it red and Margaret said mean things about him in front of the class. So he decides to write each an unkind poem and instead of signing his own name, since he's afraid they'll be angry, he signs Lewis's name to Margaret's card and Margaret's name to Lewis's Valentine. It doesn't take long before Margaret and Lewis figure out who really gave them these mean cards and they, along with the rest of the class won't have anything to do with Gilbert. First he has to eat lunch all alone, no one will sit with him and at then at recess, no one will play with him. As soon as he gets back to class, Gilbert gets to work making new cards for Lewis and Margaret and apologizing for his unkindness. As the class party begins all is forgiven and Lewis, Margaret and Gilbert are friends again..... Diane De Groat has written a simple, charming story with a powerful message about the importance of second chances, that youngsters 4-8 will easily understand. Her gentle text and wonderful watercolor illustrations really capture the small hurts and slights kids experience and her positive, uplifting ending and sensible solution should open good discussions at home and at school.

A good story to teach about other's feelings
I really enjoyed this book. It shows how sometimes getting even may not be the best solution. Sometimes children don't realize how what they do can affect others. In this story, Gilbert learns this lesson the hard way. He sends two not-so-nice valentines to two of his classmates who had done something ugly to him. Instead of making him feel better, he ends up feeling awful. His classmates didn't want to be friends with someone who would say mean things about others. He swallows his pride and makes new valentines to apologize for the way he acted. This book is a good way to integrate character education in elementary school. It has a serious message but does not come across too strong.

Valentines are hearts....
Make yours good from the start. Kids will love the funny (and sometimes not so nice) rhymes. The watercolors are charming and the message is good. Gilbert discovers that what appears to be meanness is often just a misunderstanding. He also learns that two wrongs don't make a right. The author conveys these "feel good" messages without being too heavy handed. This is a great book to read with your children before they embark on writing their own valentines.

Book Review
I enjoyed reading this book about her loosing her first tooth. It is a good book to read, because it makes you think about when you lost your first tooth. In the story, little rabbit looses her first tooth and doesnt really know what to do with it. Her mom tells her about the tooth fairy. She still is not sure if she wants to put it under her pillow or not. If you read the book, you will find out what she does with the tooth.

Wonderful Illustrations and a cute story
This was a childhood favorite of mine and now that I'm grown I would like to have a copy for my own children. Wonderful story, your kids will love it too!

A great book for a young reader!
I am the author of JEREMY GRABOWSKI'S CRAZY SUMMER IN STORMVILLE!, a children's book. In "And Don't Bring Jeremy," Adam Krasner has the burden of having to deal with his older brother Jeremy who is neurologically impaired. I highly recommend this book. I decided to read "And Don't Bring Jeremy," because my older brother Kevin has a brain disorder called autism. A number of the situations in the book between a "normal" kid and his handicapped brother I can relate to. The characters are well developed and are realistic. The story is not predictable and I didn't lose interest, as I wanted to find out how things turned out. Young readers, with or without handicapped siblings, would find "And Don't Bring Jeremy" a good book. Those without a handicapped brother or sister might have a better idea of what life would be like with one. Great book Marilyn!

A charming book
Hahn has another winner with this gentle and wise novel of a city girl who finds freedom and friendship during a summer visit to her aunt and uncle's farm. Dramatic tension comes from Anna's encounters with Theodore, an orphan boy who has been taken in by the farm family. Theodore and Anna begin as jealous rivals, but are as close as brother and sister by the book's end. Readers will cheer for Anna as she leaves her stuffy, urban life behind (if only for a while) and becomes a scrappy and happy mud-caked farm girl. I was genuinely sorry to see the book end, and hope Ms. Hahn has more books about Anna in the works.

A pinky is a baby mouse is a book I like from Pam Munoz Ryan. I think it is cool that there are baby animal names in the back of the book.I wonder how she got all the infomation. She is cool. I am good at reading.

Stevie at Ahley River Creative Arts El.
I think that A Pinky Is A Baby Mouse is a very informing book. It tells the different names for baby animals like a baby lion is a cub, a baby goat is a kid and a baby gorilla is an infant. It tells you the names of all kinds of animals. The illustrations are very detailed. Pam Munoz Ryan put the animals in different groups, like the sea animals on one page. The Africans animals on another page. The pictures where carefully colored in and it rhymed. In the back it even tells you more names for baby animals.

Wow! I can Read!
In my kindergarten class, my 5 year olds adopted this book as a favorite. After reading it through once, many of the children were 'reading' it on their own. They were so excited! As a mom of 6 pre-school kids, I find my OWN children love it just as much!

You Don't Want to Miss This Book!
My daughter has many, many books. We both love this one. The words are lyrical and fun, the pictures of the bears are interesting for all ages. She has started to pick up the words and "read" the book herself. Our original copy came used and we will be replacing it.

Little Ones LOVE THIS BOOK!
All three of my sons love this book. I have an older hardcover edition of this book my older 14 year old son enjoyed when he was younger. Now I am reading it to my twin boys that are 20 months old. They truely enjoy all the bears in this book. It even has twin bears in it! If you are looking for a book for the under 5 group this is it. Kids love it.
