This book is a specialized analysis, through a series of articles, of the work of the Argentine philosopher, Enrique Dussel. It is not really a book for beginners as it focuses on the Philosophy of Liberation developed by Dussel for postcolonial Latin America. Dussel has a formidable background in European philosophy which he uses as a starting point for his own unique perspective. Thinking From the Underside of History is a collection of critiques of his work from both American and European philosophers. An excellent work for students of postcolonial philosophy as most of Dussel's original work is either out of print or not translated from the original Spanish.
