Fudge-A-Mania
You should read Fudge-A-Mania because it is funny. Fudge has a older brother who think he is a brat. Fudge's brother gets a turtle. What happens next you will have to find out on your own. Read this book.

Human Hurricane!
Would you like to sleep in the same room as the human hurricane? Well that is exactly what Peter Hatcher has to do. He also has to live with his archenemy Sheila Tubman! Could anything be worse, yes Peter's little brother Fudge plots to marry Sheila Tubman grose! But now things are looking better for Peter, he gets to play baseball with Big Apfel who plays in the major leagues! And his best friend Jimmy Fargo is coming to it may not be that bad! I recommend this book to ages 4 and up

Best of the three books Blume has written about Fudge.
Fudge is back with even more. The Hatcher family is going to Maine and their next door neighbors will be Shiela Tubman, Peter's enemy. First, Sheila gets a job babysitting Fudge. Fudge and Sheila might get married. As it turns out, Peter and Fudge's grandma gets married with Sheila's grandpa. It is a really good book.

A funny and comforting book about childhood worries
My daughter asks for this book every night. I think it comforts her to know that other children worry about these things too. This book is about a child trying to figure out what he did to cause his mother NOT to kiss him good-night. Was it when he told the person on the phone that his mother couldn't come to the phone because she has cramps? Was it because he tracked mud all over the floor? Was it because he wouldn't eat his banana yogurt and alfalfa sprouts, or was it because he left the choclate ice cream out? His mother finally comes to tuck him in and tell him that she has to skip the kiss due to the fact that she has a "code". They blow kisses and exchange hugs with their eyes instead. Fantastic illustrations. This is a must have for chilly winter nights!

Peace through Violence
This book has several short stories whose ending is "peace is good" or something like that. To get to the ending, prepare to read through tales of war, violence, disrespect for animals and humans ... you get the idea. The big book for peace will fill your child's head with fears and extremes they had not yet imagined.

This book is inappropriate for children below probably 12 years old, and I can't imagine anyone for whom this is truly appropriate.

The Big Book for Peace - a helpful tool in classroom
I have used this book in my classroom for the past 12 years, choosing age appropriate stories for children 2nd through 5th grade. Given the current world events this book, published in 1990, is more timely than ever and will give the thoughtful teacher or parent ideas for discussion with youngsters. There are many spin-off activities that might result from various stories. For example, students might be asked to complete Kristy's letter to her father who is away at war (The Birds' Peace by Jean Craighead George).

Diane goode Book
It is a nice book, but it wasn't what was expected. When it said, Folk tales and songs, I thought they would be related and the storeis would be about the songs tht are included. Since that is what I was hoping to get, I was disappointed in that.
The stories are cute, but not really great ones to read aloud to others, in my opinion.
Enough said.
