Fine detail of the french in cambodia
The Angkor Massacre plots the fortunes and misfortunes of a french plantation owner in Cambodia in the 1960's and and 1970's. As the vietnam war moves into cambodia old loyalties rearrange. The major players, Khmer Rouge, NVA and Americans are a backdrop for day to day life, set among dense jungle and broodign ruins. Many of the ethnic groups described are unfamiliar. Jarai, the title of the film, refers to the planters giant friend. A hill tribesman from this group he routinely appears dispatching vicious assailants and plucking B52"s from the skies [well almost]. its a great read, a cross between Heart of Darkness, Rambo and Marcel Proust.

Suspense as crisp as breaking glass!! perfectly written!!
Nothing can prepare you for the suspense and drama of this title, from a flowing start to an amazing story. You are transported to the workings of brilliant minds, one of a child, and another of his Nazi enemy!! Utterly riveting and superbly crafted..forever one of the best books you will ever read!

One of the best thriller i have ever read
Wonderful thriller, breath taking. If you are not afraid of torture descritpions, then this book is yours. Very nice story, beautiful dexscription. To be read in one night, because nobody can stop after one single page.

An excellent suspense story that has you holding your breath
I would highly recommend this book. I, too, would like to know if the author continues to produce books of this caliber. The fact that some of the characters take on a mystical interpretation does not distract from the plot and/or the twists and turns of the plot. Through the author's skill, I entered the child's world and accepted it wholeheartedly. As with film, so with the written word, that if an author can make the reader enter his/her world without hesitation, the story works. This story "cooks!" I have read his two other books but this is my favorite.
