Great Collection of photos
This book gives a detailed account of Tiffanys works in most of the mediums he chose. The photographs are gorgeous.

Tiffany - A fabulous Book to Own
This is truly the most fabulous book on Tiffany's works, including many illustrations of works not previously seen.  As a Tiffany book collector, I know that Nuestadt's book may have more lamps illustrated, but none have the incomparable colors and qualities as the images in this book.  They are truly magnificent pictures (over 400 color plates)on a black ackground and are of the same quality as Sotheby & Christie's catalog pictures.  Tiffany at Auction by Alastair Duncan may be a collectors item, but having seen it, most of the pictures in that book are in black and white and do not begin to compare with this book.  While the Sotheby and & Christie catalogs display beautiful pictures, they only show what people choose to sell, unlike this book that shows treasures that I have never before seen in any of the books or catalogs that I have collected. But this book has so much more.  Almost every lamp picture has a close up of the actual pattern.  As a stained glass worker, these close ups are sufficient for you to reproduce the design.  The outstanding and superlative index at the rear contains small thumbnails of each work of art in the book with illuminating information and page number shown for easy access to the item.  Actual copies of the Tiffany factory workbooks, similar to Nash's new Tiffany Notebook book, are included in this book.
Of course, this book also has the requisite biography of Tiffany.  One third of book is biography and windows, second third is lamps, and last third is vases, index and bibliography.
You will NOT be disappointed in this book - it's the best that is available as far as I am concerned.

Book of 24 postcards
This is a companion book, as it's glossy postcards. I spent an afternoon at my local frame shop & framed 6 of the cards, they are very attractive as smaller framed images. The images are sharp (although small) & the colors seem to be pretty true to what the windows would actually look like. I'm pleased with the results of my afternoon & glad I had a chance to read the previous review to know these were postcards.

This is a Book of Post Card Images
It isn't at first apparent from the listing that this is a book of postcards. I found it very valuable because I also bought Eaton's "Tiffany Windows: Stained Glass Pattern Book". Although colored examples were given for them, the Tiffany designs are complicated. 15 or 16 of the postcards were duplicate designs that were in the Eaton book. I use the images for computer application and they helped me a lot to choose the right colors.

The Definitive Volume on American Art Deco
A gem of a book.. the best in it's class. While browsing the old-fashioned way (in actual reality) for a single book that encompasses Art Deco in all it's American forms, I found this top-class book to have all that I could want. I'm currently researching Art Deco for a theatre musical, so my review here is mostly about the illustrations. You'll find all the classic images that you need, plus a lot more besides. There's history to set you up.. with chapters on Architecture, Furniture, Fittings, Sculpture, Jewellery, etc.. plus feature chapters given over to materials ( metal, glass, ceramics etc)

The images are large and well chosen, full of colour, where available, plus archival black & white, and are over-flowing in detail. Classic buildings are featured with many close-ups of period details, both interior and exterior. The text seems to be very well written and researched, with detailed captions.

In all.. more than you could fit in half a dozen books.. and priced within reach.

A fine book.
Alistair Duncan presents us 85 of Paris's Art Deco furniture designers from the period 1910 - 1935, including Eileen Gray, Dufréne, Leleu and Ruhlmann. This fine book contains a 7 pages informative introduction with e.g. the history and material of Art Deco furniture. But also 160 pages of biographies of designers, including 244 black and white illustrations & 68 in colour of interiors and furniture, each with a description. Each designer is presented in a concise half a page review. It makes this book an indispensable guide and frame of reference to french Art Deco furniture and a nice book to have on the bookshelf.

Brief Info on Book
Hardback, 160 pps, 125 illustrations/72 full-color
Shows Tiffany's wide range of versatility: enamels, jewelry, bronzes, ceramics, mosaics and paintings. A very good overview.

however...
Mr. Duncan is currently being charged in connection with selling at least one stolen Tiffany window. He bought it for 30K andsold it to a party in Japan for 220K. The theft was not discovered until he tried to do it again 6 yrs later.

Masterworks is a valuable reference and a fun read!
As a stained glass artist, I am impressed with the excellent writing and photography in this book. Mr. Duncan is an author whose name I associate with superb photography and interesting information.

This book is a must for anyone looking to be informed on art deco. The pictures, some in black and white show stark contrast and the cutting edge to deco art. Well researched and well written. Kudos

Modernism in pictures
This book, although a little light in text, is rich in wonderful images of objects and furniture designed in the successive periods of design that we now associate with Modernism. Its breadth of scope and quality of image is outstanding!
