WOW!
I just bought this recently, and it is much better than I even expected. I have a bunch of camping books in my library, and this one is better than many more expensive adult books. It has great advice even for adults, but is indespensible for camping with kids. It teaches you how to build a fire safely, cooking on the fire, (great kid favorites recipes), dealing with bugs, how to pick a camp site, what kind of Lots of safety tips too. The fun drawings make this a pleasure as well.

The authors show you how to make a reflector oven. The main feature if this book is the fun activities for around the fire such as stories songs, games, etc. Teaches kids how to identify the stars easily and even identify features on the face of the moon. I plan to use this with our Cub Scouts.

Great for Novice and Experienced Campers Alike
This book flows like the campfire. From gathering the supplies, to lighting the fire, to the blaze, to the dieing fire, to the embers it's an enjoyable experience.

It has lots of activities: stories, songs, skits, etc. to make your campfire an enjoyable experience.

I wish I had owned this book when I taught a Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for teaching Cub Scout Adults about making a successful overnight campout.

This book has been added to my library and will be suggested at all future BALOO trainings.

Excellent source for camping with children
I am a girl scout leader and was looking for a book to help me on my first trip with young children (grades 2-4). It provided me with useful recipes for cooking on coals, cooking in a pit, or even a reflector oven. This book has many good suggestions for campfire games and even activities that can be used for achieving try-its or even junior level badges. Summer stargazing and moonwatching are covered in detail. This is a great book for beginners or experienced campers. You must have this book if you enjoy the outdoor overnight experience.

Great for single mothers by choice!
Although nice for documenting any mother and child relationship, this is especially nice for single mothers to have a scrapbook with all the same info as a regular baby book but no reference to a father. Even the family tree page is only the Mom's relatives.

My Mother and Me
I purchased this scrapebook for my 4 year old daughter. It is a simple way to record special names, events, family information and photos for you and your daughter. I found it great, since I don't have time to prepare a "baby book". My Mother and Me allowed me to record special names, and events together with my daughter. I found the special family time a real plus.

A Priceless Gift For Fathers
If you are looking for a way to "tickle daddys heart", I highly recomend this book to help you do the job! In a small amount of real quality time with your child(ren) this book allows you to explore the most facinating man that they know. From before they were born, all the way to the day you finish it, it tells the story of daddy in their eyes, Just think how much that will change in 5 or 10 years! ( Having this type of early age documentation is almost as much fun as those naked baby pictures you know you have tucked away ! ) It not only will bring a father extreme joy, a good laugh, and something to really think about, But it will also do the same for the child "author" that creates this priceless gift for fathers.

It's Not Rocket Science: Using Marketing to Build a Sustainable Business

Above average in ideas you can take away and use
This is not a "how-to" book.  It is a "how to think" book.  Goozé is dead on target in his explanation of marketing's role.  This book helped me sort out where I needed to be amid the day-to-day chaos of a corporate marketing job.  I especially recommend the chapters on commodity products, and how to approach the marketing issues associated with them.

Read this book if you want to win!
Read this book if you are thinking about starting a new business or want to increase sales in an existing company. Reading it won't guarantee success but it will arm you with the information that you need to gain a competitive edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

This is a clearly written "how to" book about basic business principles that work. It is full of informative examples from the history of business and it is the one book to read if you are serious about succeeding.

Enjoyed the book
I'm not one to normally write my comments on any book. However, I enjoyed this one enough to take the time for these few comments. It makes you see the true difference between marketing and selling in clear terms. I liked the numerous examples used throughout the book. As a business owner, who knows I may even try some of this stuff, which is very unusual for me.

Of Promises and Previews

Jane Broida Drake has put together a truly thought provoking work. In "Of Promises and Previews: Urgent Old Messages for a New Millennium", Ms. Drake brings a host of unsettling questions to the forefront. She writes eloquently about God's defining characteristics of omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence. She also asks us to look into some of the more troubling aspects of our religious writings. For instance, where does Noah's tale figure into our understanding of God as a promise keeper and the story of destruction that follows? The author also causes the reader to stop and think about how our sacred texts present
such difficult concepts as fratricide, incest and deceit and then
reconcile that with an all powerful, all knowing God.

This book will certainly give the reader pause for thought and perhaps the desire for a second or third read through. It also does well in its efforts to draw together Muslim, Christian, and Hebrew scripture while pointing out the historical basis for the divisions we see today. In a time where it is altogether to simple to see the differences in the three major religions, this author does well to point out our historical and religions commonalities. This is a work packed with information and
therefore a work that calls for deep thought and study. "Of Promises and Previews" will make a sound addition to the libraries of those who collect works on comparative religion and for those interested in these three hugely important faiths.

I Loved this book !!!!!!!
This book is FANTASTIC!!! Whether you have strong religious beliefs or none at all this book has something to offer you. Ms. Drake shows us what life is REALLY about and what we REALLY should be doing to make this world a better place to live in. She shows us what the true meaning of what God and the Bible are really saying, which is to extend our hearts and hands to love and help one another. She also shows us in great detail how people have used God's messages in hateful ways to prove their own ideas correct and absolute. I was unable to use the word God without cringing before this book because of my bad experiences with religion and the devout that preach it. Now I have a greater understanding of what the Bible was really saying and that it actually did have a beautiful message of love and tolerance not damnation, as I was lead to believe. She does this from a very factual and educated perspective, rather than an emotional one, citing many passages from different religious "Bibles". I absolutely LOVED this book and appreciate my newfound love of God again. This is definitely a must read book!!!!!

I had to buy it
I borrowed this book from the library. After reading the book I realized that this would be a book that we would use for many summers. It has several other ideas different from the "standard" books about what to do in the summer. I am a full time mom, in the summer the kids and I are eyeball to eyeball. I need new ideas all of the time. This book gave me new ideas.

A great book for bored kids on a hot summer day.
I found this book to be wonderful. I bought it for myself because it looked cool. There's so muh to do. Kids can do things by the water, in the mountains, at night, hiking or camping, when it's raining or even if your stuck in the house. It has more than 100 activities. It offers things such as how to build a fire, how to make a tree fort, what plants to stay away from, several different games for different times and places, and many many different things.

My Grandmother and Me
This is a "Must Have" for all grandmothers and grandaughters. It is written in a "kid friendly" manor that is appealing to all that share in the fun. Use this as a keep sake that represents the bond that occurs between grandmother and grandaughter. My mother and daughter love spending time together writting their own special thoughts in this book. It is a great gift that will be cherished forever!
