Best of the job-hunting books...
It's a shame that this book is no longer in print. I discovered it in the early 1970s and developed a job hunting plan based on Mr. Djeddah's suggestions. It worked. I had three simultaneous offers to consider and chose the one that was most rewarding both professionally and monetarily.
(An aside -- I met a person at a business meeting just after I turned down one offer. His qualifications were similar to mine. I suggested that he contact the company who made me an offer even though he wasn't looking to make a change. He called them on a Monday, met with them on a Tuesday and was made an offer, which he accepted, on a Wednesday.)
I've recommended the book to many job hunters over the years and it's been an excellent tool.

This is the one book for career enhancing job seekers.
This is a classic, predecessor to the yellow job hunting book whatever-it-is and the hundreds of knock-offs that followed. I have used 'Moving Up' several times over the course of a 30 year career. It helped me shift from a government to a private sector career, and advanced me within jobs, as well as took me from unemployment to great jobs several times. It contains the basis of the philosophy of the granddaddy of career placement services, J.R. Haldane, on whose staff Eli Djeddah was a key guru. If there is only one book to buy-- and follow scrupulously-- this is it. A book full of wisdom in a few pages.

Excellent job networking system that actually works! Great.
This book instructs the reader in how to get in touch with and actually interview with the company persons (including CEOs & Presidents) with the real "hire-fire" power. I have worked this system myself and taught it to others who have also succeeded in getting better jobs or better suited jobs for even more money than they are currently receiving. Can generate up to 2 to 3 job offers in 21 days! Everyone can do this!
