BLACK MIDNIGHT
This story took my breath away! It's a roller coaster manhunt...or should I say womanhunt since the main characters are women. Go, girl, go! New York at its seamy best. Bombs away.

An exciting read
I was very pleased to find BLACK MIDNIGHT available. It is an exciting mystey, with all the rights twists and turns. I'm waiting for the next book to come out!

Great Thriller
This novel set in New York City is the tale of a woman detective on the trail of a woman bomber. One of the finest, fast paced stories of its kind I have ever read. I know Graham Diamond has written many books in other genres, THE HAVEN, FOREST WARS, THE THIEF OF KALIMAR, etc. BLACK MIDNIGHT is certainly one of his finest. A page turner of the best kind. The reader will love every page. A must read.

GREAT
I READ THIS BOOK WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND LOVED IT BUT LOST IT. I AM GOING TO BUY IT AGAIN. I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO TAKE THEMSELVES TO ANOTHER PLACE AND TIME AND FOLLOW THE HERO ON HIS JOURNEY.
I'D LIKE TO SEE A MOVIE BASED ON THIS BOOK!

What a nice surprise
I am so pleased that I received a new copy of Diamond's Thief of Kalimar. It was a favorite of mine two decades ago almost, when I was in high school. I bought it (again) and reread it (again) and still loved every minute. I hope one day to find a sequal. Keep up the good work!!

A Must
When I was in the 9th grade this book appeared on our school reading list. I never forgot it. It was my first introduction to Arabian Night's storytelling. Graham Diamond spins this kind of yarn better than anybody. The hero and heroine are two of the most beloved characters I've ever known. So now I recommended it to everyone everywhere.

All new Arabian Nights
The Sinbad protagonist in this novel by G. Diamond is a hoot! Unlike any Sinbad you've come across before. I think there is a quiet, dry humor lurking about here, and I must say it doesn't always hit you right away. As with much of Diamond's writing this one also is chock full of lovable oddball types who somehow seem to win the day and the girl......A ten out of ten, a winner. And it has WONDERFUL cover art.

Another Good one by Graham Diamond
Funny and slick. Underrated...this one has charm and wit. The best cover I've ever seen. I wish it was available again.

Epic, wonderful
What a ride! Diamond takes us into a realm of exciting adventures that I haven't known since I was a small child. It's one of a kind. Based on his HAVEN series, it takes you away into the world of forests and the minds of wolves and canines and birds and....well, why not just read it yourself.

A hard to get book now (collectors seem to gobble it up) it's worth the time and effort of tracking it down.

A Great Summer Read
I enjoy stories with a dash of intrigue, adventure, humor, action, romance and this one MARRAKESH sure fits the bill. Graham Diamond seems to have a knack for fast paced enjoyable writing. The companion book, MARRAKESH NIGHTS, is no less enjoyable. I recemmend them both, as well as Diamond as a writer.

Wicked and Delightful
Characters you love to hate. Slow revenge makes this novel far better than average of its type. I have only read one or two others of Graham Diamond's book (THE HAVEN), but I have always been a fan. If you get the chance, read this one.

Best book of it's kind in 20 years
As a college admissions officer, I regularly have direct contact with prospective students. Consequently, I need to keep abreast of current issues, trends and my university's academic competition. The book by Graham and Diamond clearly illustrates American research universities without bias or pseudo-science. Moreover, it shows that the public research universities (most notably the University of California campuses) are not only giving the Ivy League schools a run for their money, they're surpassing them.

Read it IF you want "Full Coverage" of the Palliser Novels
There is a lot to like about this book. It has the usual host of colorful and varied characters that one finds in Trollope's novels. There are strong and complex women, sturdy and weak-willed men, and some wonderful set-pieces. It's a bit of a let-down after _Phineas Finn_, though, which to my mind is the greatest political novel in the English language. The previous two 'Palliser' novels having been clearly both for and about Liberals, I think that Trollope was struggling in this novel to write in a way that would both reflect and appeal to more Conservative sensibilities. So we get a lot of domestic gossip, a little mild anti-semitism, and endless lectures about the Proper way for a Gentleman to Behave to a Lady. Still, the protagonist, Lizzie Eustace, is a gem.

Enjoyable, attention-grabbing, BEST READ!!
Lucy Morris is a bore. If you like Jane Austen you will like this novel! It has all the necessary ingredients to keep you turning the pages. It's fun and charming to read just like its heroine Lizzie Eustace. Trollope argues that she is no heroine at all but it is when she appears that your interest is held the longest and that you laugh the loudest. She is wicked and selfish and vain and yet childike spoiled and that's what makes her great. Lucy Morris in comparison bores you with her goodness and her morality and her prim and proper attitude which although greatly admired in 19th century women leaves her nonetheless dull and insipid in comparison to charmingly wicked Lizzie.

Perfectly perfect and stunningly constructed
I have only read one Anthony Trollope novel, and I had the very good fortune of having chosen "The Eustace Diamonds." This superbly constructed novel begins with what is probably my favorite opening sentence of a novel--it's right up there with the opening sentence to Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice":

"It was admitted by all her friends, and also by her enemies--who were in truth the more numerous and active body of the two--that Lizzie Greystock had done very well with herself." The second sentence further clarifies Lizzie's character when it goes on with, "We will tell the story of Lizzie Greystock from the beginning, but we will not dwell over it at great length, as we might do if we loved her."

Lizzie Greystock--eventually to become Lady Eustace--is a fascinating combination of cunning and foolishness, of avarice and pitiable character, of steely backbone and whimpering fits. She reminds me so very much of both Emma Bovary and Scarlett O'Hara. Her determination to keep the Eustace family diamonds entirely for herself is what sets the novel in motion, and with this rather simple device, Trollope goes on to spin out a tale which encompasses morality, greed, Victorian social mores, the corrupting influence of money, and the blindness it can cause to everything else of value.

Lizzie is contrasted, with every shade under the sun, with the sweet and constant Lucy Morris. Picture the contrast as one very much like that of Scarlett O'Hara and Melanie Wilkes. "The Eustace Diamonds" is a deliciously satisfying book, and a classic for a very good reason: despite having been written in the 19th century, what it has to say reverberates as soundly now as when Trollope first published it. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Under the Ocean with G Diamond
This author really excels with fantasy and adventure. His tales like LADY OF THE HAVEN and MARRAKESH remind me very much of my early impressions of Jules Verne. CINNEBAR is an Atlantislike yarn, with some good twists and a fair share of excitment. Fun and very enjoyable. I went to see Diamond once when he was doing a bookstore signing. A very gracious and interesting man. I recemmond CINNEBAR highly as I do most of his numerous books.
