A Feel Good Book!
I was young when I first heard the story of Herman the Helper. I liked the way the pictures and words made me feel so good inside. Although the book was on loan from the library and had to be returned, my persistent parents looked everywhere for the book and finally located it in California. The book made its way back home with them in NY, and I still have it, 20 years later!

Most influential book of my life
I read this book until it fell apart in Kindergarden and first grade. You will love it. Read it to yourself, to your family, to your children. I hope that it makes as much of an impression on them as it did on me.

This imaginative and colorful story is a children's classic.
Herman the Helper was my favorite book as a little girl, and I was thrilled to find it at Amazon. The illustrations are so colorful and inviting; I used to spend hours with this book. The story is also upbeat and very charming, so if you have kids, or if you still feel like one, you'll love Herman!

My daughter LOVES this book!
This has consistently been one of my toddler's favorite books since she was only a few months old. She loves to hear me sing the words to this book and never seems to tire of it. The illustrations are bright and cheerful and it has become a favorite of mine as well. Highly recommended!

A perfect book to read to a toddler!
My 15-month old daughter loves to hear me read this book! She studies the colorful pictures on each page, and watches my face as I say "Quack, quack, quack, quack." It's short, with just a couple of lines on each page, an it has an excellent rhythm.

The ducks ran away and then they came back.
We liked the book because it had ducks in it. Jamie's favorite part was when the duck went out one day. Jay liked when Mother Duck said, "Quack, Quack."

Mitchell Is Moving

A really sweet story with funny characters...
When Mitchell announces that he is moving "two weeks away" from the home he's lived in for sixty years, his best buddy (and next door neighbor) Margo doesn't sit quietly by and let him slip away. The tale that ensues speaks volumes about the love of friendship and surprising solutions. If you find yourself reading the same stories over and over, you'll want to make sure this one is among the possibilities.

Outstanding and Unique
Mitchell is moving is one of the best books I have ever read. Mitchell has lived next door to his friend for so long so he finally decides to move away, "three days away" to be exact. Margo, his friend, is not to happy about it so she tries to keep him from going. I recomend this book to all ages!

One of the cutest stories I've ever read
Mitchell the dinosaur is tired of living in the same old place and decides to move "three days away". His best friend Margo isn't happy about that at all. She thinks of some very ingenious ways to try and keep Mitchell as her neighbor. The story stays cute and readable--no matter how many times I've read it over the years.

Exuberant, low-key food/Thanksgiving ABC, subtly vegetarian
A delightful and rollicking ABC, this picture-book will be appreciated by anyone who loves good food, celebration, Thanksgiving --- and maybe most of all, anyone who does all these things and is ALSO a vegetarian. Not that there's a vegetarian agenda --- the book is not at all evangelical --- but it happens that at this Thanksgiving feast, Turkey is a guest, not an entree, Trucking in Turnips (just as Bear Brought Banana Bread, Biscuits & Butter and Cat Carried Cherry Compote and Cranberry Cobbler). We read ALLIGATOR aloud before every Thanksgiving at our home, and it makes all of us, of all ages, giggle, cheer, and happily dig in. A true celebration of a book, and delicious.

Not just another alphabet book!
As a kindergarten teacher I am always on the lookout for alphabet books that portray letters and sounds in a different way than I read just the day before, while keeping to the same concepts. We really enjoyed the illustrations here. Several of my students noticed that this illustrator drew the ducks in the book we used on our first day of school because the pictures are simple, clear, and not too ornate. We enjoyed this work, and heartily recommend you stop by to have lunch or dinner with these folks while learning the a, b, c's.

Little Louie the Baby Bloomer
I am the mother of a child with special needs and this book has a beautiful way of explaining what it is like to be different from typical children. I highly recommend it to anyone who knows a child with special needs. I am buying several copies to give to family members and friends to help offer perspctive on what my son's life is like. It is a precious story.

leo and louie are just like my children
The first time I read this book I started to cry. It touched my heart so deeply. Louie doesn't play like other little kids, or speak either. This has his big brother Leo(from the first book, Little Leo the Late Bloomer)very concerned. Leo decides he will help his little brother how to play, write, and speak. To no avail. Soon Leo finds that Louie just does things differently from the norm. I have an autistic daughter with a big sister who is alway thinking of her little sister. This book is cute, warm and endearing. The illustrations are wonderfully alive. If I had enough money I'd buy this book for every big brother and sister with a special needs sibling.

The Greatest Book Ever!
It's the best book I ever saw. The colors are very bright. I especially liked when the animals were camoflauged. Porcupines ended up stuck up in the tree. I love the book very much. It shows all kinds of animals and they all were led by the panda named Milton.

Great bedtime story with great illustrations!
I have had my own copy of 'Milton the Early Riser' since I can remember. It is one of my favorite childhood books. Milton the panda bear can't sleep. There is a big wind storm which rearranges all of the animals in the land, so to keep himself occupied, Milton puts them all back where they belong. By the time all of the animals wake up, Milton is so tired, he finally falls asleep.

Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crockett: A Tall Tall
Steven Kellogg is wonderful telling the story of Sally Ann from her birth, her running, and the bear battle, to meeting and marrying Davey Crockett. Very strong woman. This folklore tale has excellent color illustrations. I would highly recommend this one for reading to and by the K through the 8th grade, along with a recommendation for teachers and parents, also.

one of my favorite chidren's books!
This was a great book especially for young girls. It tells the story of a female hero and all her adventures. Even after marrying Davy Crockett, one of the most famous folk hero's, Sally Ann remains independent and the greatest hero in the book. I highly recomend it to anyone, especially those interested in folk tales.

Excellent story for sharing with kids of all ages!
Lizard's Song is the story of a lizard who teaches his friend Bear his favorite song ("Zoli, zoli, zoli...Rock is my Home"), only to discover that Bear keeps on forgetting it. Ultimately , Lizard realizes that the problem lies in the song, which is about Lizard's home. When he makes the song about Bear's home(..Cave is my home")Bear never forgets the song again. Share this story with anyone, but especially share it with homesick preschoolesrs, and remember to ask them at the end what they live in, and make a song for each of them never to forget.

Antarctic Antics
I purchased the CD because of the good reviews on the book. My seven year old loved the CD and I was surprised to find myself singing along. He's been learning about penguins at school - this is definitely a good way to reinforce what he has learned while having lots of fun in the process.

Fun for kids of all ages
An adult friend recommended this book to me (also an adult), figuring that I'd enjoy anything containing a poem titled "Regurgitate." She was right, and I found the rest of the book well-written and well-crafted, full of similar humor and the kind of realism-in-viewpoint that is sometimes (too often) lacking in books that feature animals. The illustrations are also excellent. I'm told that children do enjoy this book, but it's also captivated many of my adult friends ... including one woman to whom I presented a copy for her 55th birthday. Quality shines through any good work, and that's definitely true of "Antarctic Antics."

Charming
The book was very entertaining for my five year old granddaughter, making her laugh as well as learn about penguins.

The art work was as well done as the writing. I recommend it to anyone who is sly enough to teach through laughter and rhyme.
