When reading Sensei Demura's books, you're getting martial arts info from one of the most realiable sources in contempoary times. His book is knowledge and informative. A must oen for any karate stylist.

This book has all the pictures and Japanese terminology associated with the movements. Most traditional karate dojo's use these terms to conduct there classes, this is a great book for reference whether you are training in Wado-ryu,Shotokan,Goju-ryu or Shito-ryu. This text will benefit you in your training.

Fumio Demura has always shown a great wealth of knowledge when it comes to Kobudo, his books have always shown great thought and good training practices, and this one is no exception.

This book is an interesting book about martial arts. Per haps a little dated but defenitely a piece of martial arts history. Grab a copy if you come across one!

Demura always does a wonderful job of introducing various Kobudo weapons. This book is no exception. If you are a beginner to using the sai, or you're an experienced martial artist interested in this weapon but have no instructor, you should find this a good introductory guide.

Demura gives an excellent history on the sai, shows different types used in the past, as well as a good breakdown of basic techniques. Good kata and one-steps as well. Self-defenses are a little anachronistic - after all, sai v. sword fights don't happen all to often these days - but the applications are valid.

Some law enforcement officers may have seen the rapid rotation baton. Like the PR-24 being inspired by the tonfa, the RR baton seems to be influenced by the sai.

This book should open your eyes to the more traditional uses of the sai, and inspire you to come up with more ideas for yourself.

Well what can I say, this book is an extremely solid study on the use of the Sai. Fumio Demura is a master instructor and practioner of his art. This book is a must for weapon enthusiasts and Karate practioners alike. All the basics are covered from stances to blocks and to strikes. This text will add to the knowledge of any Karateka regardless of his interest in the weapon or not. A fairly dated book now, but a bible for the Sai user

After I bought my pair of sai's,I wanted to find out more about this weapon and this book explains clearly and shows by sequential pages this dangerous artform. Lots of different ways to avoid attacks from barehanded attackers and some proper methods of moving to attack.

If you are a lone practioner of the martial arts and are interested in learning the BO, this book is for you. The pictures and descriptions are easy to follow and provide a good foundation for many of the techniques that come naturally with weapons practice. I gave this book 4 stars because I think the final kata is too long for any beginner and the pictures are much too dark. The first 90% of this book is a 5 star for sure...

Basically an excellent introduction to bo staff techniques. Without a doubt the best book on the subject available for some one interested in actually getting started with the bo rather than reading about it.

Sensei Demura is considered by many to be one of the leading authorities on Tradtional Kubudo (the study of weapons). And while this book is a little dated, it still represents some of the best information available on the traditional uses and style of Okinawan Bo. If you are looking for flashy spins - look elsewhere - this book simply contains solid, basic information on the use of the bo. The book contatins basic blocks, stances, and strikes as well as a few techniques. If you're a fan of Demura Sensei - then you must own this book. After many years, it is still one of the most important works on this subject.

Another solid text from our friend Sensei Demura. This is part of his popular set on Okinawan Weaponry and well worth the cost. Portrayed in the book is weapon history, basic stances, grips, blocks and strikes. Demura also covers self defense applications against many various attacks. For all Karate and Kobudo students I would reccomend this book!

This book covers all the fundamental aspects of the tonfa. It looks at stances, basic strikes, swings etc. It is relatively simple and doesn't go into any depth or any advanced techniques, so I consider this book to be only a reference source for the seasoned tonfa practitioner. But anyone who's new to the tonfa should most certainly buy this book. It will lay a strong foundation in their techniques as they move onto more advanced levels.

Sensei Demura's books are a must have for any traditonal martial artist, or anyone wishing to understand the true natue and application of traditional Okinawan Weapons

As a practitioner of shito-ryu, I found this videao to be a great aid in my training! Sensei Demura, may he rest in peace, was a great force in this style and anyone would be assisted in using this video.

Sensei Demura is not deceased ... He is alive and well, teaching in California. This book and the accompanying video are excellent and the video is the first in a series of five. I highly recommend them all.

This book great for anyone wanting to get an introduction to nunchaku. It contains many begining techniques. I highly recommend this book. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was astonished at the results i received by using this book. It teaches the basics of nunchaku fighting and in no time you will be swinging that weapon like a proffesional.

This book teaches you everything from what the parts of the nunchuck are called, to how to defend agaist a Bo and Knife. I Highly reccommend this book for beginners. If you are not a beginner I recommend the book "Advanced Nunchaku" by the same author.

This book should be a follow up of Demura first book. This book still covers basics, which it does well. I would recommend this as a basic or intermediate book.

Photographs are illustrative and techniques are clearly described. Not a tutorial, rather a presentation of 20-30 useful techniques that can be blended into your own program as needed. I felt I got my moneys worth and would recommend this book to a friend.

The Advanced Nunchaku book by Fumio Demura and Dan Ivan has inspired me and respected myself.The information and pictures are excellent for advanced and people who are better then beginners.This book has a lot of solid information and is well written with perfectly easy to follow steps.Have fun!
