Wild Swan is a hidden treasure just waiting to be discovered
Wild Swan is the first book of a fantastic trilogy by Celeste DeBlasis. This book is the infinitely touching story of two people destined to be together, who must first stumble a bit on their road to each other. We see these two grow up together, form their own lives, and eventually reunite for a love affair so amazing, you'll want to fall in love all over again. The other two books go on to form a delicately woven picture of the family these two make together. You'll become so intrigued by the story of these strong, proud people, you'll race to read all three books in this amazing trilogy. It is truly a shame these books are no longer being produced, but they are still obtainable, and well worth the effort!!!

Celeste DeBlasis is a treasure!
I have read every book Celeste DeBlasis has ever written and I have loved every one of them, but the Wild Swan trilogy is my favorite by far! I still go back and read them about every two to three years or so. She paints such a rich tapestry of characters and settings for all of her books, and she obviously does a thorough job of researching the history of the geographical areas she writes about, you feel as if you are actually there. If you have never read any of her work, I would highly recommend that you begin with 'The Proud Breed', her first novel and my first introduction to her work, and then continue on with the Wild Swan trilogy. She has written other extraordinary novels, so find them and read them all. You are in for a rare treat!

I lived and breathed for this series.
Celeste DeBlasis is, in my opinion, the best fictional writer around. I too have read all of her books and also own all of them. I fell in love with the central characters in this book and continue to dwell in their home(s). Her trilogy of "Swans" goes to the heart and soul of those of us who believe in love to the fullest, as only Ms. DeBlasis can portray these people. I read and re-read each and every book until I know every page by heart. I too wish that Ms. DeBlasis could write more of her words more often, however, I realize, as she has also written, that the "well" needs time to fill up again. Thank you Ms. DeBlasis, for all you do for all of us who love your words and work.

Amazing book - amazing trilogy
A wonderful trilogy that begins in England and spans nearly 8 decades, to end in the new U.S.A. All I can say is that I have reread the books over and over again. The author writes beautifully, and makes you live, love, laugh and cry with the main character Alexandria Thane. I recommend this book, as well as the first and third to all readers. And she has done her research so well, be it about the swans, the horses or the wars, the state of the country, the political tension, etc.

An amazing story of love that endures time and circumstance.
I have read the Swan trilogy 4 times and have loved each book every time. I love how the family history is so detailed and realistic. It's amazing how everything is centered aroung Alexandria Carrington Falconers family. This is an amazing book and I would reccomend it to anyone who loves a powerful saga.

aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!
The second of the trilogy, this books starts before the Civil War and ends after it. The children are all grown and their romances and marriages are expertly designed not to take away from the core of the book. The Civil War is a terrifying threat for ALex and Rane, former English citizens who do not agree with slavery, but live on the borders of slave country. Their decision to make Wild Swan neutral is an admirable thought. Their children, grandchildren, and in-laws...being Americans, enlist. With family fighting on both sides, Alex and Rane can only go about their lives and hope their family comes home safely.

I loved this book and the books preceding it and and following it.

One of the best descriptive writer's . Where has she gone
Celeste De Blasis brings the story of growing up on a southern California desert to life. I grew up on the high desert also. DeBlasis put voice to my memories of blood red sunrises, sunsets that turned the desert to pure gold, and the starry starry nights of our youth, the stars almost close enough to touch, are not so bright now with the ever encroaching sea of red tile roofs. now that people driven from L.A. by high costs of housing to our precious desert, to live cheap and commute far. When I read this book I was living in Montana. Celeste de blasis brought the desert and ranch life to me again and in our shared regret at losing the wide open, I thought "It isn't gone. It has just moved 1000 miles north to Montana."

A LOVE STORY TO LAST FOREVER!!!!
This story of Tessa and Gavin touched my heart as a teenager. It made me dream of a love that was unheard of and a love that I had no instruction in nor any example of. The man I married is the answer to Tessa's Gavin. I looked for him a long time. And thanks to this book, I read about a real lasting love in which to continue to pursue. Excellent story Ms. DeBlasis!!! If this love you wrote about was lived in your lifetime, then you too are a lucky woman!! I loaned my book to a freind after highschool and have never seen it again. But the memory of the story lives on --- in my heart. Donna Bradley

A 10 at best
I read this book 5 years ago. The story plays in my head to this day. I still cry when I think about the ending. Well not cry, I sob. Celeste has a remarkable ability to reach out and touch your very soul in this book. I will always remember this book. I lent it to a friend a few years ago, I never seen it again. I have been looking, but I have not been able to find it. I tell my friends about this novel and I get goose bumps because it was almost like you became Tessa, and felt everything she felt. I would be reading and find myself saying, No, don't go to her Gavin go to Tess, and many other things. This is the only book that I have ever read twice. For A moment in time I was lost in this saga and it will forever remain with me.

Thank you Celeste for the adventure! Tisha Bennett, WIsconsin.

Only book I ever read that make me cry at the end.
Read it and cried at the end. Re-read it a few years later in paperback and cried again. The book is gone now (no idea where) and I morn it. I am surprised it never became a movie or mini-series, butI am not sure anything would do it justice. For two people, Gavin and Tess, to love so strongly, yet hurt one another, only a love such as theirs could survive to the complete and bitter end. I brag about this book to anyone I know who enjoys history and romance. If I can ever find another copy, I will bronze it..but only after I have read it again and again. But, then again....maybe I'll just find a peaceful rainy afternoon, and sit back and enjoy a love so true. Please get this book out of the archives and release it again!!!!!!

Best book I ever read
I read this book when it was new and I was in HS. It was my most read, cherished book. Unfortuantly my folks threw out my copy when they moved and now I"m searching for a new one. I also wish that the author would write more stories as I've read every one of her books and they were all awesome. The characters in this story were so believable. YOu begin to live the live the character's lives with them. It's hard to leave them behind at the end. I have read each book and all the characters are clear and concise. They all have elements that keep you you coming back to read again and again.

One of the Best
"The Tiger's Woman" is one of the best books I have ever read, and I have read plenty. The characters are very well-developed, and while you admire them, at times they make you angry, for they are by no means perfect. Not only does it have wonderful characters, but it deals with a very serious issue, that of child-molestation, in a very realistic way. The book takes you on an emotional roller-coaster that you regret leaving when the book in finished.

I hope to someday read "The Proud Breed." I have read so much about it, and I would love to read another of de Blasis' novels.

If you never read another romance novel, read this one.
From the very first words on the page, I was totally engrossed in the story. The descriptions of the characters emotions and the surroundings made me feel as if I were there. It was wonderful to read a romance novel, without having a picture perfect hero and heroine. I loved them all the more for their imperfections. I came to care about the supporting characters as much as I did Jason and Mary. Word by word I moved through their lives. I laughed when they laughed and cried when they cried. A truly wonderful novel. Celeste DeBlasis at her very best.

A must read for romance lovers
This book is a wonderful way of ending the "Swan" trilogy. I enjoyed how Celeste followed Alex but focused mainly on her grandchildren and the issues in surrounding lives. Overflowing with historical information that is intriguing and easy to read, A Season Of Swans leaves you wishing you could have been there to help or enjoy along with them. Having read everything that Celeste DeBlasis has written I know that she cannot write a bad sentence. This book is worth your time and a must have for every lover of romance.

FALL IN LOVE AGAIN AND AGAIN
If you have ever been in need of a friend or family away from your every day life, turn to A Season of Swans, and the first two books of the trilogy. Never before had I read such expertise. in Ms. DeBlasis's books, you will meet and fall instantly in love with Rane and Alexandria, Morgan and Samantha, Hawk and Lexy, not to mention the many other family members. The books are so amazingly constructed you feel as if you too were on the journey from England to Maryland, and very honored to be along. Time and time again I go back to the Swan trilogy, and each time it as if I was being embraced by old friends. A feeling that never grows old.
