WWF History Lesson
If WWF's Wrestlemania was a college course, this would be the required text! Great photos and writing make this an entertaining and informative read! It's great that this has been documented for history and in ten years they should do a companion book. Two let downs about this book: #1 It comes with a Dvd video. I only have VHS, so I guess I will have to wait to when I an forced into purchasing a Dvd player. It's kind of presumptous of the publishers to assume everyone has a dvd player.#2 I follow wrestling pretty close and know much of the "inside scoop", and this was written clearly from an "event-based" point of view, not from how it really happened.I guess the writer wanted to steer clear of any of the "backstage politics" and just cover the historical events that took place.Which is great, not everyone wants to know all that stuff. Bottom line, this book is great and should be purchased by any wrestling fan. It is a testimony of how great the WWF is and has been and will continue to be!
Another great book hits the shelf!
This book is great! If you like books like this you'll like: The Rock Says, If They Only Knew(Chyna), or A Tale Of Blood and Sweatsocks(mick foley). Better than the book: the DVD! i dont have a dvd player but i went to my friends house and we watched it there! It's got great matches like: A Battle Royal with NFL superstars v.s WWF superstars, and Andre the Giant v.s Hulk Hogan, and Stone Cold v.s The Rock, and Stone Cold v.s Bret Hart and Stone Cold v.s Shawn Micheals (a whole lot of sotne cold matches eh?) and Lawrence Taylor v.s Bam Bam Bigalow and its got interviews with people like: Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald brisco. More matches: Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan v.s Yokozuna and the first Wrestlemania Main Event: Mr. T and Hulk Hogan v.s Paul Ordnoff and Rowdy Roddy Piper and a special boxing match with Mr. T defeating Rowdy Roddy Piper because the Rowdy One did a wrestling move on Mr. T and the DVD also shows how the Fatal Four Way Elimination Match got together. I found out that when Linda McMahon made Mick Foley to compete in it Stephanie slapped her. It's got a really nice DVD and the Book has sweet pictures like: Undertaker and actor Jonathon Taylor Thomas and Andre the Giant with Stephanie McMahon. Youll love this book and DVD!
A MUST FOR WWF FANS!
I admit this book was an expensive addition to my library, but looks great on the shelf. WRESTLEMANIA has for years been the crowning achievement in sports entertainment, and now with this book you can enjoy the past 16 years of Wrestlemania History in the comfort of your own home. The book is in mint condition and is appropriately separated in chapters of each Wrestlemania in order, plus with interesting stories, magazine covers, and breathtaking photos from the famous events. Who knows, you might even discover a thing or two you never knew before about the making of these now classic sports events. I learned some interesting facts I never knew, but I won't tell what they are - you'll have to see for yourself! For me what is most memorable about each Wrestlemania is the Main Event. Book also includes a nice DVD covering all 15 Wrestlemanias (only briefly Wrestlemania 16, though). Essentially though the DVD is exactly the same as the Wrestlemania History DVD available on the WRESTLEMANIA 16 DVD, so that may be the only disappointing factor. However as far as the book itself goes - GREAT! As Jesse "The Body" Ventura always put it "This is THE MAIN EVENT...it don't get no bigger!" Such is certainly the case with this book - enough said!
