Very Clever Author!
What a charming tale for children about one of the smartest of our feathered friends!

Excellent Book
This is a wonderful book to share with your child. My daughter and I have fun together reading this book, I read the story and she recites the "Haw, Haw, Haw" sounds - She loves it! The ryhmes flow well and the imagination runs wild. It is a must have...

A definite MUST HAVE for any Toddler¿s bookshelf.
Clever Crow is clever indeed. Emma is on the chase and so is my child's imagination. This is a must have for any toddler's bookshelf. We first came across it at our public library and this has been our favorite since. Watch your child's expressions as you sound out the crow's voice going through this intriguing rhyming tale. How fun and exciting! The illustrations are superb! We now have an under the bed box full of shiny treasures! Be sure to read it and find out why! This would make a great gift! We rate this book 5 Stars and more!

A wonderfoul read aloud book for children of all ages
This is one of the cleverest folktales I have read to my third grade class. It has all the elements to sustain a child's attention and make them laugh. Just when you think the story has ended, you are drawn in again.

When Grandpa Kissed His Elbow is a must read for children!
When Grandpa Kissed His Elbow is a touching story about a young girl and the time she spent with her Grandpa. They share small wonders of nature and a special and magical event from Grandpa's childhood. Generations have passed along the story about "when I kissed my elbow..." and this book reminds us of those who passed that story along to us. Not only does this book portray a special relationship between Grandpa and grandaughter, but it inspires the imagination of our children.

This makes the top of my favorite book list!
This was a thrilling story that I could not put down. I have read this book many times and never grow tired of the captivating story. This book places you in the time of the Great Depression as a young girl who wants to live life as a hobo. The main character (who's a girl),Frankie, sets out to try life as a hobo after her father kills himslef after losing his fortune on the stock market crash. This book has you live the life of a hobo and is very interesting. From hoppin' trains to working for food, it's all here in this great book. I highly recomend this to all readers older then 10. This book will win a special spot on your shelf, too!

Deeply touching
This is a very interesting book. Lots of great characters, great details of the hobo life and the depression. Every detail was interesting.

Frances finds herself all alone in life after her father loses his money in the stock market crash and takes his own life. Junius, who worked for the family, told Frances about the hobo life. When the family home is to be sold, Frances decides to take to the rails. What follows, is a very exciting life after Frances, now Frankie-a boy in disguise-meets up with Stewpot. Stewpot takes Frankie under his wing and teaches her the ways of the road. There are exciting adventures, with a grim touch of reality as Stewpot becomes seriously ill.

Read this book for an exciting look at another time period and another way of life. Get to know Frankie as she gets to know herself and the world around her while she travels across the country, only to find herself back where she began her journey, only a much wiser young person than when she started out. The twists and turns the story takes will surprise you, as will the ending.

Good Book
This book was a book that was about a young girl named Frankie who became a hobo after her father's death. This book was based in the Great Depression and painted a good image of what it must be like living back then. I liked how the writer always kept the reader interested. I did not like however how short it was I waish it would have been longer. For who choses to read this I give it a thumbs up. I would recommend any teacher to read it to their class just to explain the hardship of those times.

Review Of Hogback Hill
Author: Cynthia DeFelice Genre: Adventure and Mystery The Light on Hogback Hill

This story takes place on Hogback Hill. The main characters are Hadly and Josh. Hadly is fun, talkative good-natured and sometimes can be a scared of things until she faces her fears. Then she is ok. Josh is fun, adventurous and loves to explore. The plot of the story is that Josh wants Hadly to go up on Hogback Hill with him to see if the stories are true about Hogback Hill. (The story about Hogback Hill is that if you go up there the hunchback will turn you into a black cat.) Hadly finally agrees to go up Hogback Hill with him. On Halloween night they go up and find out that the stories are not true! They want to find out who and why someone made up the stories. They find out that there is a nice hunchback on Hogback Hill and that the person who made up the stories was her brother. They soon became friends with Netta, (the hunchback) and they break 'the spell.' Then she comes down after a sad accident and meets new people. My favorite scene was when Hadly and Josh went up to Hogback Hill for the first time. My favorite character is Hadly. I think people should read this book if they like adventure and mystery. I think The Light on Hogback Hill should get a rating of an 8. I think it gets an 8 because it started out good then it got better and better and better but the and was not very good.

My point of view on a great book!
What really stood out for me in this book were scenes that could really affect people in real and true life. Like people judging other people from the way they look. I would give this book a
5 rating because I love mystery and adventure and that is what this book is about. It has a lot of exciting and horrifying cliffhangers that leave you dying if you don't read on! So I would recommend this book to people who love mysteries and adventures just like me!

The Light on Hogback Hill when you read it in a book club
I read this book in a book club. I liked it because my favorite type of books are adventure and mystery It was sort of like Arthur's Halloween. It was also like Arthur and the Real Mr.Ratburn. The main characters are Josh Carter, Hadley Patterson, Angus Tull and Henrietta Tull whose nickname is Netta. It is a mystery and adventure book.

Allie's life is interupted by a ghost and has to save it.
The Ghost of Fossil Glen is the best book that I have ever read. I would suggest this book to everyone from 9-99. I read it as a summer reading book to go into the 6th grade. I would, and am, suggesting it to everyone that I know. The book is too interesting to put down! I didn't stop reading it untill I have read for over 3 hours and my mom was yelling at me to put it down. The Ghost of Fossil Glen is too good to put into words. This mystery had a great plot and kept me on my toes.

The Ghost Of Fossil Glen by Holly, Geneva, NY
A really good book that you should read is The Ghost Of Fossil Glen.It was about a girl named Allie was at fossil glen and heard a voice in her head and it wasn't hers! The next day when she was in school, she had noticed that her friend Lucy had been absent for a few days .The voice that she heard in her head was Lucy's?What do you think happened to Lucy?To find out what really happened read this book.

This is a totally enthralling book.
This book is absolutely wonderful. Children will enjoy the suspense and drama. From the opening page until the final paragraph, children will anxiously read to find out what is going to happen. I enjoyed reading this page turner that kids will find exciting to read and talk about. Of course, if you don't like a little mystery, then this book isn't for you. The action takes place quickly and DeFelice also adds a little moral story into the plot. Two thumbs up!!!

Devil's Bridge
This is a good book and I had fun reading it. But there were some parts that I didn't understand, like what Mercury was. The rest of the book was really great. All the parts about all the fish got me really excited(I even asked my mom to take me fishing). I learned alot about new kinds of fish, new ways how to fish and many new different kinds of bait and lures. This is a good book for kids and grownups that are into fishing.

Devil's Bridge
This book was very interesting. I was always guessing what would happen next. I would have never guessed the ending. DeFelice, the author of the book, writes with a unique style. She finds a way to put a twist in the ending. I also liked this book because of the main character. To really understand the ending, you first have to understand the character. Ben is a character that people can relate to. Even though his problem would not happen to anybody else, a person can relate to his inner struggles. Reading this book did not take long for me. Although it was only 95 pages, I did not want to put it down. A very well put together book, you must read it.

GREAT BOOK
We had to read this book in school and I was glad that the school finally picked a good book for us to read! The author makes it so realistic and you can't put the book down because it is so good. The author has a way of getting you interested and it keeps you guessing until the end. This is a great book for people who like to read and people who don't like to read.

Are you all MAD???!!!!
How in God's name can any of you justify this horrible book? It's written for children and tells a tale of how an entire village celebrates a man's death! Then to top it all off it even goes into detail about how the widow is so happy that her husband has died because now she gets his life insurance money! What exactly is the author trying to teach kids? How to make money by hoping someone dies, or even better how to kill for money? This book isn't fit reading for any age.

A quirky read
My son and I found this book at a library in Spain. Every week he would want to check it out again. When I first began looking for this book to own, it was out of print. We finally found it again here and have been enjoying it since. We have lent it to several friends who have also enjoyed the book.

A word of warning: the book starts explicitly with the husband's death. Some people don't want their kids exposed to matters such as this. I do not think this book would be a useful book to explain the concept of death to a child. It takes death very lightly and is a fun book to read. But for a child who has had a recent loss, the idea of the loved one coming back as a skeleton and sitting in the living room might be a bit too much.

Great Halloween book! We truly enjoy this book!

rollicking fun
My two kids (3,4) love this book - they picked it up at the library, and we've read it six times in the last two days.

The prose is lyrical - I'm not at all unhappy when my daugher asks me to read it yet again, as it is really quite at its best when read aloud. I'm not a fan of horror, or even ghost stories, but this is really quite funny, and not at all disturbing. Indeed, it takes what would be a classic haunting story and makes light of it.

I'll definately buy this one if I can find a copy.

BTW "Are You Mad" needs to read it again - the village isn't celebrating (no one missed him, because he was mean), nor is the widow only interested in the insurance money (she's concerned that she won't be able to afford the coffin if Aaron doesn't stay dead, as the insurance won't pay if he isn't).

A childrens book that both you and your children will enjoy. One caveat... my kids have been introduced to "death" already - they're missing two grandparents and a horse, and we've talked about death a fair amount. Your mileage may vary.

Fire
The Ghost And Mrs. Hobbs is about a girl named Allie who is solving a ghost mystery with her best friend Dub. While Allie is trying to solve this mystery strange things start to happen to her. Dub leaves Allie because he doesn't like the ghost's attitude, so Allie is all by herself trying solving her ghost mystery.
I really liked this book by Cynthia DeFelice. I have read 2 of her books. I can really relate to the charaters in this book, like how Allie was upset that Dub left her. This is a great book. Read it!

The Mysterious Ghost and Mrs.Hobbs
A ghost came to Allie for help. He wanted revenge. He wanted to get back at the person who killed him. He goes to Allie and tells her things. She goes looking for more information about what happened to him. He was killed in a fire. While Allie was looking for things in the library, things started to melt. She goes and interviews Mrs. Hobbs, the lunch lady. While she is interviewing her, the papers on the table catch on fire. John Walker (the ghost) told her that Mrs. Hobbs killed him. Later in the book, she finds out more unbelievable things about John Walker.
I like to read mystery books. I think they are the most interesting things to read. One thing I liked about this book is the clues were the most interesting. If you like mystery book, you would like to read this one.
There is another book like this one. It is called The Ghost of Fossil Glen.

very good children books
I saw this book at the lybrary several months ago, and as soon as I was done with the first chapter, I finished it the next day. It was a really good children book, and as for grown-ups.
I won't tell you about the plot, because I don't want to give it away. but trust me, you will not be dissapointed.

Wow,what a book!!
When was the last time you read a book that keeps you in suspense? Well, let me recomend the book Weasel by Cynthia Defelice. This book keeps you in total suspence as the characters encounter different situations.

Cynthia Defelice's powerful look on surviving in the wilderness with a killer on the run is very exciting. The character Nathan never would have expected that this could happen to him, but it does. The dreams that haunt him of a killer named Weasel were true, until a man named Ezra came along. His silence leads to discovering, who weasel was, and why he never spoke a word. If you like exciting books that keep you on the edge of your chair, you will enjoy this book.

IT WILL KEEP YOU READING TILL THE END
This book called weasel was about a boy named Nathan, determined to [do away with] a killer named Weasel. It takes place in Ohio in 1839 in the forest. Weasel is not an animal. He is a killer who is said to be a blood thirsty half man half animal. The government had hired Weasel to drive the Shawnee (indian tribe) off the land, but then he (Weasel) starts to [do away with] everyone for no reason at all but for the sport of it. Nathan befriends the character Ezra. Ezra has no tongue because Weasel cut it off. Nathan meets Ezra when Nathans Dad goes out hunting and doesn't come back for 6 days. Ezra comes to their door with something of their Dads. Will Nathan and his younger sister molly go with Ezra? Nathan will go through many twists and turns but you will be suprised the way this story ends ( even though the last chapter is very corny).

A Tongue Takiing Adventure
One night Molly and Nathan hear a knock on the door. Nathan opens it and sees a tall man with a locket in his hand. The man gives the locket to Nathan. He examines it and knows that it is Pa's. Pa left 6 days ago to go hunting. He always kept the locket on no matter what happened. It always reminded pa of the kids and their mother who had died. They follow the man thinking that pa is hurt. On the way they see Weasel. He is a coldhearted man who will kill anyone. The man that they are with is Ezra. He can't talk because Weasel cut his tongue out of his mouth. When they get to Ezra's house they find their father. He is hurt, because he got caught in a man-eating trap. Nathan travels back to their home to feed the animals, but everything doesn't go as planned. **This book is non-stop action, and adventure. After every chapter it leaves you wanting to read more. You can not stop. So, what will happen next, read and find out!!!!
