Got to love it - hunting whitetails the traditional way
ON THE TRACK- a splendid piece of work - is the story of R.G.
BERNIER and his hunting companions tracking trophy whitetails in
northern New York and New England. These guys are real pro's,
hunting whitetails the traditional ways. By tracking, stillhunting
and stalking big bucks on large tracts of public property.
These guys do it right, totally fair chase with no gimmics, just
hard work and good woodsmanship.
R.G. BERNIER and his hunting companions- a truely great group of
down to earth ethical deer hunters.
This book is very informative and refreshing to read.

A book you want to share after you've read it 10 times!
This is a very challenging book. As a Christian I had what I believed to be a safe and good understanding of what/who God is. It challenged my own concepts and has revealled not a God but a parent. It made me realise how intimate this new found parent is in a simple, honest, straight forward way but with a depth I had never experienced before. It did not take me closer to God but helped me understand what the relationship should be like and gave a renewed desire to get there. There are very few books that have had this kind of impact in my life. It is written in easy to understand everyday language. Would I recommend it? Most certainly yes.

Direct help was the result
After I read this book, I could feel much closer to my god.
From the very beginning there was something going on in myself I could not describe with words.
Something very positive. After 6 month now I look back and can say my life took a better direction. More calmness,a feeling of security and guidance which I cannot imagine, that I have lifed
so long without of it.
I wish everybody this direct communion and this book is a wonderful guidance in finding what is in all of us.
It speaks very honest from our daily life and how much our God
desires to be a part of.

Very close within and beyond.
Reading the book and close it, reading it again and close it again. The things I experience are eventualy not in this book but it "goes and exists" inside each one of us. Everybody knows that any spoken language is many times a poor substitute for the living energy that exists within the very core of our heart and soul. Real communication is not easy at all. So what I want to say is that beyond the words written down in this book, there is an everyday-feeling which will bring us all to understandable Common Grounds. It is a TRUE book.

Adventure starts within every day
This is a subversive book in the best sense of the word. It reminds us, again and again, that as long as we look "out there" for the source of meaning in our lives, we are doomed to wander and wonder. But when we accept that we get to create the adventure and meaning in our lives from the raw material of existence itself, we have a shot at constructing lives worth living. The insights and exercises in this book are obvious only when we make that great leap to the frontier that we carry with us. When so many books purport to be our guides to a better life "out there" this book works to remind us that our lives already have meaning, that we are ready right where we are, and that we already have everything going for us. Recommended.

Let the adventures begin!
To quote the author, "Take nothing for granted in your surroundings. Edit from your life that which does not inspire you and replace it with items and energies that feel adventurous."

The day before my birthday, I told a friend that I intended to make the coming year better than the last. My goal was to view "life as an adventure." The next day, I spotted David Silberkleit's little book in a gift shop, and I instantly knew that it was meant for me! Inside, I found 541 interesting (and often unusual!) ways to add pizzazz to everyday life.

Since reading this book, I have been editing from my life those things that don't inspire me, and, in doing so, I have discovered just how easy, fun, and energizing it truly is when you start viewing life from a different (and somewhat zanier!) perspective. For an entertaining and inspiring read, choose A New Adventure Every Day. You, too, will discover that adventures are everywhere, just waiting for you to become a part of them. Join in!

Exploring Beyond the Surface
I was struck that what initially appeared to be simplistic ideas really provides interesting springboards for incredible discovery/adventure, depending on the level one is at in his/her emotional abilities. Each of the ideas in the book presents a multitude of different possibilities and grist for further thought.

Be Generous Review
In Be Generous, David Morell makes poetry a meditation and meditation a poem. It is taught that meditation is a surrender of all effort; enjoying David's poetry is effortless. His poignant poems speak directly to the heart through the body (breathe). Laughter bubbles up from the depths and a sigh of understanding and relief will surfaces.

In exploring the simple acts of everyday existence and the most powerful life events, David Morell's poetry transforms our experiences. Doing the dishes, driving to the dump, waiting in a traffic jam, battling the phone company, growing older, and coping with loss will never be the same after reading David's poems for now I'm more likely to remember to BREATHE and laugh.

Be generous - and give yourself a treat
This little compendium of personal reflections treats matters pedestrian (e.g. road rage) to cosmic and is able to maintain its relevence to our daily lives over the entire range of its topics. Some of the selections will make you smile or laugh, often self-directed, while others will prompt serene and contemplative thinking. While you may want to refer back to some meditations, others will just come back to you spontaneously as they speak to situations encountered during the course of one's daily activities. This small paperback is an eminently easy way to give yourself or your friend a repeatable treat.

Pleasantly surprised and enlightened
Despite its size, this is a great book. With all the madness in the world today, it's nice to find an author who approaches spirituality with calmness, compassion, and humor. His meditations are full of 21st century zen with a zinger. Marell can be simultaneously silly and profound, wise and wily. I recommend this book highly. Now breathe.

Journeying Through the Days 2002: A Calendar and Journal for Personal Reflection

Shelter in the storm
Like so many people in these unsettled times I long for a sense of stability and certainty. What is solid and unchanging if not our love of life and nature and the inspired word. That is why I recommend 'Journeying through the days 2002' with beautiful photography by David Hay Jones. The book is a rock upon which to rest our weary and battered souls.

A top-three buy
At last, a diary and calendar that's spiral bound so it lies flat when you write! The photographs from around the world are great; some can even be looked at and studied for as long as it takes to fill a page with text. What's good, too, is that the quotes and so-called inspiring texts are not from Oscar Wilde and other masters of the ironic one-liner but words that go deeper than that. OK, some of the photo and text combinations are obvious. It shouldn't always be necessary to match so literally. But of the hundreds, indeed thousands, of calendars on the market, this is in the Top Three.

Free your mind and the rest will follow
Journal-writing is a liberating exercise in so many ways. We are freed from the notion that other people's "truths" will save us, freed from the dogma of accepting 10-point programs to salvation. Although 'Journeying' is published by a Christian outfit it resists the temptation to point a fundamentalist finger at us. Instead, we are encouraged to listen to our inner voice, reflect on the beauty of our surroundings and use the thoughts of others, such as Martin Luther King, to enlighten our minds. Thankfully, too, the pitfalls of New Age "anything goes" are avoided. At last, Christianity has understood the meaning and content of humility! The photographs by up-and-coming European photographer David Hay Jones are sufficiently subtle and atmospheric to match this sensitive approach to spirituality. They are rarely obvious, certainly not commercial. Rather, they encourage us to look at the world and find our own truths, whether they be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, New Age or agnostic.

Love Bugs
This book is absolutely adorable!!! A very sweet valentine book with fun, colorful pop-ups and a sweet valentine poem!! Such a great book!!!

Beautiful book
I bought this book years ago for my now 9 yr old,. Now my 3 yr old has rediscovered all of Carter's books & loves them. She is a girly girl & is usually afraid of bugs but these bugs are so cute, she loves them. Of course as with most pop-up books,it is short & fragile-not for the very young to play with on their own. But it is a must-have for anyone with kids.

Loved it!
The cutest valentine book ever! The pop ups are wonderfully designed and it is a real attention getter! My only complaint is that the book isn't longer!! I would love to see more!

This book has it all...
great descriptions of the hike, recommendations on best seasons, really good maps, wonderful colour photographs, comprehensive driving directions and easy USGS quad map referenes - could it even be better than the incredible California Hiking? I bought Canyoneering the San Rafael Swell as well, and am sending it back because this book covers what I need in a much easier to read style - and is less likely to get me killed en route while rock climbing without a belay. Highly recommended.

WHO KNEW!
Who knew there were so many great hikes local to the Wasatch Front? And it gets better than that, this book has a hike for every season and every day of the year. From easy to difficult, senic to exercisic, you'll never get bored in Utah again. This book offers some of the tradional hikes Utah is know for plus many hidden treasures. At first I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. There were so many interesting sites I wanted to do them all. Having done quite a few now I can't wait to do more. And you'll never get tired of the views, you can do your favorites hikes again and again, try one in summer and in winter. The book als has great descriptions of the plants and animals native to the area. So take it along and lean about your suroundings in a quite medow or under a shade tree. A must for the hiking enthusiest!

A wealth of valuable information
Anyone intending to do any amount of hiking in Utah, whether it be for a day or an overnight trip, will find David Days' "Utah's Favorite Hiking Trails" an invaluable source of information! The layout and design of the book aids in pre-trip planning. Included are detailed trail maps for each hike, an extensive index, a rating of each hike by the author and a clear and definitive description of the route of the trail. Along with the maps and numerous black and white pictures, the author includes two multi-page groups of color photographs of the areas listed in the Guide. My wife and I found these to be very motivational and inspiring and are looking forward to our return trip to Utah to visit many of the areas Mr. Day lists in his book. I have seen and used many trail guides over the years and find "Utah's Favorite Hiking Trails" to be among the best and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Utah.
