Beautifully depressing.
I just happened to be browsing through my high school library, and picked out this book because of the tital. It turns out that this book doesn't really have all that much do with sex, but it was a splendid read. I loved this book, I read the whole thing in one sitting because its just one of those books you can't put down. Although I was pretty depressed after finishing it, its still worth it. You can learn a lot of valuable lessons from reading Sex Education, I highly recommend it.
A superb account of a teen's asssignment: to care
Livvie is the new girl in town when she meets David in her biology class. The topic of the semester is sex education: a concerned teacher's campaign to prevent teen pregnancy, and to help young people make more informed and hopefully safer choices. Through a variety of assignments, she teaches her students not only the facts and statistics about disease and pregnancy prevention, but also how to care for someone in a non-sexual way, and how to express themselves. The teacher's realistic message is "wait as long as you can." The main project of the semester is "to care about another person." David and Livvie choose to work together, befriending Livvie's new neighbor, a frail and timid pregnant woman who seems to desperately need someone to care about her The best part about this book is Davis' sensitive writing. We experience everything through Livvie's naive eyes, especially the growing affection between her and David and the joys of first love. By contrast, the problems in the marriage of the new neighbors reveal themselves bit by bit. The horrifying climax reveals the reason Livvie pens her story from an insane asylum. Readers will feel her shock, grief and anger. The deep empathy with Livvie shows strong characterization, and the plot is much more complex than one would guess from the title. This is a book that made me smile with fond memories of my own first love, and weep for the characters. Sex Education is a must have for any young adult library.
A Coming of Age Story That Rivals "Catcher In The Rye"
Davis's prose is lyrical and delicate, but her real triumph is in creating characters that seem at once real and heroic. Although ostensibly a "Young Adult" novel (My daughter recommended it to me)I found myself moved to the point of tears. A must-read.

The definitive reference for family caregivers in Texas
Eldercare in Texas presents the basic information family caregivers need to know to care for their aging spouse, parent or relative. Davis covers legal & financial concerns, housing options and end-of-life issues in a no nonsense way. The glossary is particularly helpful. Her personal anecdotes show the reader she doesn't just write about eldercare, she has lived it. A must read for any family caregiver in Texas.
Eldercare in Texas
I am a social worker and work just with Texans. This book is the most resourceful book I have had in years. The elderly in Texas did not know that half of these resources are available to them. I encourage family caregivers to purchase this book.
Eldercare in Texas - Grrreeeaaat!!
This is by far the best reference book for eldercare in Texas I've ever read. Thorough, informative, easy to read & understand. Covers everything a caregiver for the elderly could need. A++

"Move over Harry Potter, it's time for Jenny Davis!!!"
This brilliantly written novelette goes right for the heart. The creativity and Shakespearean wit are deftly intertwined with the timelessly poignant way Ms. Davis searches for the true essence of the human existence. This is truly the work of a writer who has mastered her craft. Ms. Davis has written a children's book for eternity.
Insightful and creative. A non-stop thrill ride!!!!
Davis's use of humor intrigues the reader and keeps you wanting more

A touching true love story senstively told
A deeply moving, tragic and true love story compiled form lost letters from a young newly-wedded wife to her husband serving in the second World War. Shortly after their courtship and marriage the young couple are separated when he is called up for service, and then suddenly his correspondence ceases. Unsure if he is receiving her letters she carries on writing of her love, hopeful that they are reaching him, but never being able to confirm if this is so, until the story unfolds to its dramatic conclusion. The denouement is both heartbreaking and touching, a genuinely poignant and beautiful tale of one womanÕs refusal to give up hope on the man she loves, sensitively compiled and annotated from fragmentary letters. If this doesn't touch you nothing will. The film rights must surely be sought eagerly soon by some enterprising mogul. A wonderful book. Full of wonders.

Very well-written. Davis gives great detail.
Checking on the Moon was a very well-written book. I liked the fact that it showed how an boring town can turn into one you will never forget! I thought that Cab was, surprisingly, more enthusiastic that I thought she would be. I also feel as if her mother and father were kind of mean because they left her with her grandmother in a strange city all summer. I think that the customers and the class that she took were the things that kept her sane. I was secretely hoping that Cab would not go to Europe, but I guess that she had to. Jenny Davis is an aspiring writer, and this is a very fine work of literature.
