Happy at the Bel-Air
My wife is a 2nd grade teacher and read this book to her class over a period of 4 days. The kids could not wait to hear what happy was doing on the following school day. We are Yorkie lovers anyway and Happy is the true image of what a Yorkies life from a dogs point of view must be like.

This is my very favorite book of All Times.
Kingdom Come is the deepest , most incredibly ,touching and dramatic book I have ever read. I was Laurie and my husband was Ben and we were lost together without each other, just as they were. I read the book to him and we laughed and cried and sighed together. All I can say is that it was perfect.

Out-of-print but shouldn't be!
This book, a lively trash classic, was once described as "a crunchy, chewy salad of green sex." It is--and coincidentally enough, it inspired the name of the group fronted by Chryssie Hynde and Co.! Worth reading if you can find it.

Doesn't deserve even one star
Davis is a very bitter woman whose prose is saturated with petty anger and frustration. It makes for a perfectly awful, unpleasant read. I got about half way through it before I tossed it into the trash can. Hopefully this will be her literary swan song.

What a dog.
What a piece of thoughtless tripe. This is a book that seems to have been created for the sub Entertainment Tonight level of curiosity about Hollywood. The stereotypes in this novel are not worth recreating,(they've been done better elsewhere), the stage is ridiculous, and the writing is just plain awful. I myself am surprised that anyone would care to write such trash and more surprised that people would actually publish it. It is so obvious that this person has been ostracized from the group she purports to be a part of. It is an attempt to feed of a host, like a remora feeds off a great shark. This simply reads like a poison pen letter of a rejected woman. I was given this book as a gift and decided upon reading the first chapter to terminate my friendship with the giftgiver. Be safe avoid this empty story like it is the plague

Dated story will shock only the geriatric set
I have never read a book by Gwen Davis. This is my first. I was very dissapointed and so was my 76 year old mom (we read it on vacation in Burmuda). We think that the writer is trying to be shocking and hip, but it all feels very dated. It's a very fake portrait of Hollywood people, and sounds like it was written by an aging film star who hasn't had a job in 25 years. There are several stereotypes, leading me to believe that the writer isn't current on recent social trends.

I was surprised that Army Archerd in Variety liked it so much -- he must be friends with the author. Also, considering he's about 85 years old, you can take his opinion with a grain of Geritol!

If you like fun or sexy "insider" books about Hollywood, I would stick to older tried and true titles (like THE EXHIBITIONIST) or Jackie Collins -- she really has the dish and a great style. I think that the only Hollywood parties Gwen Davis attends are at the Actor's Home. She doesn't seem to be an insider anymore, if she was one once. PARADISE is not a vivid, "90's" Hollywood novel. I wish it had been -- don't wait for the paperback.

The garbage from a garbage mind
It's amazing that the author of this book has the gall to suggest anyone would benefit one iota from reading this tripe. Obvioulsy if you want someone to defecate on your brain pan than you have found the awful writer to do it. This is second rate work from a third rate author. Use this book to kindle a fire, or to wipe yourself when there is nothing else availible. Why anyone would publish trash like this just shows the mediocrity of the culture we live in. Obviously this woman reads Jackie Collins and jacqueline Susan and thinks if they are going to be making money writing this trash, she should as well. This "book" is worst than television. A snuff movie for the intellect. Try something else, anything else please. Do not be fooled by the insane writings of the author.
