Dressage for the New Age
This is the first book I've taken the time to write a review for. This is a WONDERFUL book! I highly recommend it. The insights that it provides are invaluable. No horseman's book shelf should be without this one. Thank you Dominique Barbier.

Dressage on a higher plane
Dominique Barbier takes the reader to an almost spiritual place in his expansive explanation of the sport and art of dressage. Almost certainly, the reader will come to understand the horse and the human connection to the horse through this reading. Barbier's explanation of the movements is clear and often brilliantly basic. A compassionate rider of any level will benefit from this work. It is also the kind of book one would want to read again and again for inspiration.

Excellent American History Resource
History textbooks are usually inadequate and painfully boring. This book is exceptionally well-written, accurate and interesting. It's great!

This book is awesome.
I am a secondary education history major and I use this book in my US history class. I find it to be simply outstanding. It reads like a novel and not like a text book. This is a must have for any history buff.

Gems of insight and clinical expertise
Collaboratively written by skilled child psychiatrist Daniel J. Sigel and parenting educator Mary Hartzell, Parenting From The Inside Out: How A Deeper Self-understanding Can Help You Raise Children Who Thrive is a thoroughly "reader friendly" psychological guide to improving one's parenting skills through improved self-understanding and through learning from one's own childhood experiences. Presented in terms accessible to parents of all backgrounds, Parenting From The Inside Out offers gems of insight and clinical expertise and is a strongly recommended addition to personal and community library Parenting Skills reading lists and reference shelves.

As simple as it is profound, as warm as it is scientific
It's impossible to say something can change your life without slipping into cliche-land, but this book is all about the possibility of change and the crux of life: brain, to mind, to heart, and though the book is too grounded in science to say it, to soul; it's the neurology behind the fact that mind is love; but more than anything the ideas in this book are simply fascinating and useful! I have read other work by Dan Siegel and each time I revisit his sythesis of brain science, attachment theory and a warm-hearted psychiatrist's view of Buber's I-Thou, I am filled with new thoughts and emotions.

She does it again!
Mary McGowan,M.D., well known and highly respected expert on the treatment of lipids, previously wrote an extremely helpful book titled: "Heartfitness for Life".(Read the customer reviews for that book!). Among the many areas she covers are treatment for homocysteine, for which many physicians don't bother to test, and for LPa,which is "badder" than the "bad" cholesterol,LDL. Too many physicians have no idea what LPa is, and some actually argue against testing for it, as they have no idea how to treat it. In this her latest book, she adds additional information on lowering LPa. The book is full of new, clearly explained practical information. I can't recommend it too highly, for anyone, beginner or long time learner having concerns about their lipid status. It should be required reading for cardiologists, internists, and family physicians, who could use this book as a resource for their patients, and in many cases for themselves.

A unique look at relationships formed online.
This is one of the only books available that addresses this issue. Many people form transient and very fulfilling cyber relationships, but I have not seen a book devoted to those relationships and what impact they have, both on the cyber parties involved and their families and friends. CybeRelations looks at those strange, wonderful, fast-moving 'affairs of the keyboard' in a humorous and exposing light. I enjoyed reading and re-reading certain chapters, and would really like to know what happened to most of these people. Thanks should go to both authors, Daniel and Kathleen, for taking what appears to be an enourmous amount of time putting this book together.

Opened my mind!
This was my first experience with Dominique Barbier and the French approach to dressage. His presentation of the French theory of lightness and harmony opened my mind. It changed my rigid approach and my horses have been very grateful. From this book I learned that lightness can be achieved without force. His instructions for work in-hand were clear and easy to duplicate on my own. Diagrams and explanations were clear and technical enough without being complicated. I felt this book was easy to read and understand, was presented in a progressive format and just oozed with a sensitivity and a passion for the horse that is not found in similar books. This book is a must read for any serious dressage rider, instructor or trainer.

Great screenplay
"I Shot Andy Warhol" was an amazing movie with a great screenplay that swept the characters of the film through the surrealism and strangeness of the sixties, and this is the screenplay. It's great how the mental degeneration of the main character is depicted so subtly.
