After reading Megan McCafferty's "Sloppy Firsts", I was eagerly awaiting the sequel. As much as I anticipated the novel, I was scared that the second book may not live up to the expectations I had built up after enjoying "Sloppy Firsts". I should have known better than to doubt Megan McCafferty's abilities because "Second Helpings" is a knock-out sequel! It lived up to all of my expectations and then some. If you enjoyed "Sloppy Firsts", you will definitely not be disappointed in "Second Helpings". It is a wonderful follow-up. Jessica Darling is as hilarious, witty, and sarcastic as ever, while still being true-to-life and extremely easy to relate to. An awesome book for any teenage struggling to figure out who you are and what comes next.

I have been waiting anxiously for this book, Second Helpings, and I LOVED IT!!! Sloppy Firsts was so original in the telling of the story about Jessica Darling and her view of life, despite being so like the high school I remember. Second Helpings is an amazing follow up novel! It is a book for everyone, with wonderful characters and the familiar themes of life at all ages. Who hasn't struggled with choices in our life, albeit the right school, job, love life, living... Jessica handles it all with true graciousness and humor. I truly think this book will appeal to anyone who is in need of a wonderful story that will keep you engrossed for hours! And really, who isn't!!! I will be waiting for the next Megan McCafferty book with an anxiousness that does not apply to many authors. These words do not do the book justice, so I recommend you JUST GO BUY IT AND LOVE IT!!!

In Megan McCafferty's Second Offering in the Jessica Darling sagas, we get introduced to her life as a Senior. With even more pessimistic yet realistic views of life as a suburban teenager, get ready for the rollercoaster ride of Jessica's life as she goes through new steps in boyfriends, sex-type-stuff, friends, dealing with the past, her family, and altogether your typical teenager life.

The thing I love about this book is that its SO real. The average teen book out there puts the main character in some weird crazy situation that only a small majority can relate to: ex, death of a parent, living in a trailer park, etc. etc. McCafferty isn't afraid to address the fact that hwile in the GRAND scheme of things JD's probs are probably trivial, in her life, they are her world. Which is why i think I (and many others) can relate.

If you're looking for a book where you feel at one with the characters and the plot, definately pick up Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings for a sometimes sad, sometimes touching, sometimes downright painfully hilariously embarassing and ALWAYS real plot!!!
