My 2.3 year old can read this one!! And loves it!
This book is one of the Road to Reading series and is wonderful. My 2 year old was able to read it himself after we read it only about 5 times. He can now recite it without the book and impresses all his friends (and parents, especially) at his home daycare!! The rhyming words really make it a fun treat for young readers.

Motivating, great conversation topics, and just simply great
Cynthia Kersey just spoke for the Womens Council of Realtors in Orlando, Florida at our Annual National Convention. She had given each and every one of us (approximately 400-500) this book as a gift. This book will touch anyone with perserverance, anyone looking for an answer, and anyone who needs the little "umph" to keep reaching for their dreams. I highly recommend this book for anyone of all ages! It is very easy to read and will have stories of people or products that we have come to know. What a great history lesson! I was very surprised as to how hard it was to put down. We had never heard of Unstoppable until Cynthia came to our luncheon. If you are looking for the perfect holiday gift for someone - anyone! - this is it! Don't pass it up!

Extraordinary....even after my third reading!
For the record, I picked up this book about two years ago for the first time, and I have read it in its entirety twice since then. This is a masterpiece. You will never forget these stories.

Through the stories of ordinary people who have accomplished extraordinary things, Cynthia Kersey gives you insight into your own potential for greatness. This is not just another "come on, you can do it"-type of book. The people highlighted in this book are real. They are just like you and me, but they live with "purpose that ignites the spirit". They probably never thought of themselves as "great", and perhaps they never set out to be highlighted in a book like this, but they are...and for good reasons Kersey painstakingly outlines at the end of each chapter (Your Personal Action Plan). Her writing is taunt and flawless. A companion workbook is also available and I would advise anyone to make good use of it. Let Cynthia show you how and WHY you should!

This is definitely a book that you will refer to again and again, as I have. It can give you the renewed faith and conviction you need to get up every day and follow your dreams. You'll never think of yourself as ordinary again!

An excellent book on empowerment and success
There are many books that come under self help literature. Till date, there are two books that are really the definitive books on self achievement. They are Napolean Hill's Think and Grow Rich and Dr Stephen Covey's The 7 habits of Highly Effective People. These books expound on the philosophy of succeeding and do it excellently.

Now a new book can be added to the list. Cynthia Kersey has done an excellent job in bringing real life success stories to the everyday man. This book is incredibly inspirational and can literaly jump start the life of any person who has lost his spirit to succeed. What makes the book special are the 45 stories which testify to the courage and conviction of the human spirit.

Everybody has a hero inside of them. Cynthia's book helps a person develop, grow and expand on that herosim. It makes a person believe that no matter how difficult or tragic his circumstances; he can prevail if he has the spirit to do so. The book can and does have the same inspirational value that sylvester stallone's Rocky picture series has had for millions of people. The underdog, faced with insurmountable odds, rises above his circumstances by a conscious act of will. In Cynthia's book, you will find many such inspirational characters who have ovecome enormous odds to achieve the success they deserve.

The book is definitely worth a read. Although I am 29 and unmarried I look forward to the day where I will read a chapter everynight to my children.

Decent and mouthwatering.
I thought the recipes looked and sounded awesome but when it came to making them, the recipes were not made for everyone. Alot of the ingredients are hard to find, or expensive, unless you live in a large city. The recipes I tried turned out great and were big hits.

Very pretty and glossy, but lacking in some basics
I was very excited to get my first ice cream maker. I ordered this book, as well as Bruce Weinstein's "The Ultimate Ice Cream Book : Over 500 Ice Creams, Sorbets, Granitas, Drinks, and More". While this book does a wonderful job of describing how Italians have made gelato, and the art and science involved, the recipes can be complicated and a little obscure. For example, she lists a prickly cactus pear sorbetto (the cactus has it's own lenghty preparation - if you can even find the stuff!), but there is no recipe for chocolate gelato or sorbet. (There is one for chocolate-hazelnut gelato, so it can be adapted). I like the inclusion of the more obscure varieties, but not at the expense of the basics.

It is a beautifully photographed and presented book, and would actually look quite good on the coffee table, or make an informative read outside the kitchen. However, I'm a little afraid to actually bring in into the kitchen, for fear of messing it up!

After my first 4 batches, I prefer Weinstein's book for variety, and for many flavors he offers more than one recipe so I can choose which level of complexity I want in the preparation. I haven't made enough batches to comment yet on how the final products came out, but thus far I am inspired to try more from Weinstein's book. I can relax and read this book while I eat my frozen treats.
