I saw this movie almost ten years ago in Chicago at a Pan-Asian film festival. I never forgot it because it was so touching and bittersweet, much like the many star-crossed romances you read or hear from "Romeo & Juliet" to others. It's a really sweet and funny movie, and though the ending is tragic, I came away feeling more touched by it.

If you have just one film in video, be sure it's this one ! The Lovers is the best film I've ever seen, nothing compares to this incredible masterpiece. Buy it now !

This is a great rendition of a Chinese classic story. The actors are both attractive and extremely likable. The director is one of the most talented chinese director out there. So with a great story, great actors, and a great director...what more can you ask for??
