Eleven spaceships, four aliens, and a fifth grader compete
Eleven spaceships, four aliens, and a fifth grader compete in an intergalactic race from one side of the universe to the other but must face some formidable challenges during the race. When Spuckler finds his old rival is also in the running, Akiko finds herself in the competition for a trophy in Aiko & the Alpha Centauri 5000, a fun science fiction tale for young readers.

akiko and the alpha centauri 5000
Akiko and the Alpha Centauri 5000 is a wonderful addition to the Akiko series. When her friends from Smoo trans-moovulate her on board the Boach's Bullet to help them win the Alpha Centauri 5000, Akiko is a little upset. But soon enough she's pitching in to help Spuckler win against the sneaky Streed. If you like light adventure stories, you're going to love this new Akiko.

A Great Brand New Adventure
As a fan of the Akiko comics and the past four books I can't express how happy I am to have another adventure, and best of all it's totally barnd new! Plus, it's a lot of fun, even if Middleton isn't. (If I was Akiko I'd just stay on Smoo!)

AKIKO AND THE GREAT WALL OF TRUDD

The Quest Nears It's Conclusion.....
Continuing their quest to free the captured Prince Froptoppit, Akiko, Gax, Poog, Mr. Beeba, and Spuckler must get past one final obstacle: The huge Wall of Trudd. And waiting on the other side- Alia Rellapor and the mysterious Throck.....

Writer/Illustrator Mark Crilley continues to improve with each book, and this is the best one yet. The characters are great fun, and the situations they encounter are exciting, but nothing that would scare a younger reader. This would make a great bedtime story....

Make sure to check out the Akiko comics from Sirius Comics!

Great Book!
I thought Akiko and the Great Wall of Trudd was one of the best books I've ever read. I love the series, and I hope for more. It's easy to read, and the characters are very interesting. My favorite characters are Gax and Spuckler, because Gax is a funny robot, and Spuckler is smart, strong and is kind of a ruffian.

Akiko and the Great Wall of Trudd
The third book in the series was the best so far! I have read all of the books in the series to my 6 year old. He has liked them all. But with the Wall of Trudd, he wanted to read more and more. It has great action in it. My interest was also kept by watching Akiko grow as a leader and a person. The characters continue to amuse and engage.

finally a great comic w/o all the gore!
we love this series and highly recommend it because it is adventurous and funny w/o relying on blood and guts or shock value to keep your interest. i would like to thank mark crilley for producing such a fine illustrated tale w/ interesting characters and great 'sound effects' :) keep them coming! i only wish i could find more like this.

A great story - appeals to kids and adults
Akiko on the Planet Smoo is a delightful story about a young girl who reluctantly leads a ragtag team of adventurers on a dangerous quest to rescue the prince, held captive by the evil queen Alia Rellapore on the planet Smoo. The artwork is superb and engaging. The story is funny and smart. This is a great story to read aloud to your kids or to read on their own. The worst part is on reaching the last page and realizing that the adventure is over, at least until the next trade paperback is available. Fortunately for us the adventures continue.

Great selection of Vocab for a short period of time!
This book contains crucial SAT vocab words, not too many words like some other books do, so you can really learn them in a short period of time. Also, for each words, it gives easy and clear definitions with part of speech and really good example sentences. Memorize all the words in this book, then you'll have a good background vocab for SAT verbal.

A Wonderful Sequel!
I have just finished Akiko-Volume Two and I want to say it is just as delightful as Volume One. As I get to know Spuckler and Mr. Beeba ("Beebs") better I like them more and more. And poor Akiko playing peacemaker and ringmaster all in one. They along with Poog and Gax arrive at the castle of Alia Rellapor after much travail and hard times--and laughter! Is Alia Rellapor a villainess or not?? Did she kidnap her son or didn't she??--just delightful reading. Maybe even the best was at the end where Mr. Beeba tries to catch the reader up on Volume One--with his own slant of course. He has some harsh words to say, maybe even a lawsuit--but he cannot decide whether to sue the writer or the illustrator--LOL!! Looking forward to Volume Three!...Betty Knowlton

Awesome book! For all Sci-fi fans!
This is the second trade paperback of alia rellapor story arc and I highly recommend it! It has everything action, adventure, and well everything you could look for in a great story! Do not pass this up!

Great art & Great story!
Comics are gaining recognition and respect, but for people new to reading them it takes a nudge to pick a book outside of the big name publishers. This is your nudge. "Jax Epoch and the Quicken Forbidden" is a fantastic story, at once both clever and absorbing. It's not pigeon-holed into "a book for girls" or "a book for boys" but is appealing to everyone. Though this is a complete story, the adventures of Jax don't end with the book; the comics are still coming out and they just get better and better!

finally, strong female characters in comics!
wonderful, entertaining and unpredictable. dave and john will keep you guessing and, ultimately, wanting more.

this comic will appeal to anyone who likes adventure, robots, ice cream...or all three! jax is a great character who you will be rooting for as she travels between realms, experiments with magic, goes on trial for destroying the world, and eats cereal with extra sugar.

fans of the comic "quicken forbidden" will also appreciate bonus material featured only in this paperback edition, including a new short story about jax's childhood.

A very well-written book, great for Oz lovers!
This was a wonderful book. It has short stories, even cartoons, about Oz and its characters. All of these are written by famous Oz authors, such as Baum (of course), Denslow (who illustrated the original "Wizard of Oz"), Thompson, and many others. For anyone who loves Oz, or any other good read, this book is for you. P.S. I have to say, some of the stories in here seemed like they were written by Baum himself, though in fact, only 2 out of the 16 were actually written by him. If you decide to buy this book (which I recommend) read "THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ" by Walt Spouse. It's a funny comic strip about the book, The Emerald City of Oz.
