Can't put it down!
This book was amazing! I'm not usually a big reader, but I read through this one in two days! The story is really good and the author delivers it very well. You just simply can't put it down. And while you're reading it, you're on the edge of your seat the whole time. It's not like one of those little horror flicks where you know who the killer is. It keeps you wondering practically throughout the whole book. Though you may have doubts about who the killer is, you're never quite sure.

Great if you're looking for a book you can't put down
A single mother is pregnant and is talking to her sister on the phone. The last the sister hears from her is "Wait, someone is at the door." She never comes back to the phone, and when the sister checks on her young autistic son, he is alone. He is trapped in a world of silence and can not tell what has happened to his mother. This nonstop thriller will keep a reader entranced to the end when the author reveals what finally happened to the pregnant woman.

The Usborne Book of Diggers and Cranes
This is a great book for younger children who have an interest in construction equipment. The pictures are large and colorful, and there are enough details to make the information interesting without being overwhelming. Each page has one large diagram of the featured piece of equipment, with smaller drawings around the edges. For example, a two-page spread shows a picture of a trolley tower crane and its parts. A sidebar follows the steps needed to actually put the crane together at the site. Another side picture shows a goose neck crane and how it is different than the trolley crane. A little boxed picture shows how the Romans built the first cranes. My sons would pore over this book when they were small. They had all the facts memorized, and have kept the books as a reminder of the fun they had reading it when they were small.

A KILLER BOOK...
I was going through some of my old, never before read paperbacks the other day, and I found this one. The title grabbed me, so I picked it up. It turned out to be a well written novel of suspense. It is a quick, easy read, sure to entertain those readers who enjoy mysteries, thrillers and suspense novels.

The story revolves around a young woman who gets a secretarial job in the city and ends up having an affair with her boss, who happens to have a house in the suburbs, a wife, and two kids. They fall in love and before you know it, his wife is found murdered in her home. The reader pretty much knows who is responsible for the murder, but after a trial, the responsible party literally gets away with murder.

After the trial, the two lovers marry and have children of their own. Then thirteen years later, the wife appears to have a terrible, life threatening car crash. A terrible accident... or is it?

The story is told, in part, from the perspective of the hospitalized wife who begins to recollect her past in flash backs, as she struggles to remember who she is and what happened to her. As she remembers the events that lead up to the car "accident" that put her into the hospital, she confronts the past and the impact that it has on her future. You see, she now believes that someone is trying to kill her.

The reader surmises who might be behind such a plot long before the wife does, yet is with her as she undergoes her own discovery process. Her observations of her husband's current behavior, as well as her knowledge of what had transpired many years before, ultimately make him suspect in her eyes, as she no longer views him with the same naivete that she had when she first met him. Her only objective now is to stay alive. The reader's only question is...Will she?

does not deliver what it promises
This is a beautiful book. However, it does not deliver what it promises. The author describes it as a celebration of 100 years of bridal fashion. However, in fact it is mostly an interpretation of fashions of the last 100 years through the lens of modern fashion. There are a few pages, for example, given to Edwardian fashions, and then what looks to me like a longer discussion of Edwardian styles as interpreted by modern designers with dresses worn by modern models.

it is clear that the author wanted to produce a book that was striking and different, not just the same old boring bride poses, and she succeeded. it is a beautiful book. The photographs are consistently excellent. But it is not what the author promised her audience...

Something Different
The story was excellent for a suspense novel. The only thing I didn't like about the story was the lack of flow, it didn't move smoothly. The story is told from 3 different people's points of view. It was confusing, when which character was speaking, wasn't clearly stated. Half-way through the novel I thought I knew who the killer was. I was right, but not entirely. The ending takes quite a twist. Predictable endings are so boring. I'm glad Crane got creative at the end.

This novel is about a psychic who works on missing persons/homocide cases. He's married to a younger women whom he suspects is having an affair. As a psychic he has the ability to see into other people's minds. His wife is hiding something from him and he must figure out what it is while trying to find a serial killer and missing persons at the same time. The hard times he's going through in his marriage seem to affect his capabilities in finding the victims. He interprets some of his visions wrong, but in the end figures out their true meaning. The climax is full of suspense. I read until I finished the novel. I couldn't put it down until I knew exactly who the murderer was.
