'SNAKES... as a hobby' brilliant for beginners young and old
Well for anyone that has read this book they would know that it is extreamly good. Not only does it describe the general care and needs of snakes it has lots of additional information that I for one have found truly fascinating and useful! i found this book to be a very good adviser as well as invaluable companion. I think that this book is good for everyone considering keeping snakes as it shows all the pros and cons of this fascinating and extremely exciting hobby! And remember all the profits go to the SAVE-OUR-PLANET charity, which is an extremely worthy cause

Superb reading!
I first read this book in the library many years ago. I re-read it again & deceided to buy the book, but it saddens me to say this book is now out of print. From start to finish, its a non-stop interesting story. It about boy from a tribe following their common ritual quest to manhood. There are unexpected comrades & enemies that help come to his aid & jepordizes his quest. Finally, in the end he is unexpectedly greatly rewarded. Back then, I remembered that I couldn't wait for the next installment! I swear I thought this book was book one to a trilogy. I think Greg Costikyan is a great writer but he has very little works of art published. Those of you who wants to read a good old fashion fantasy, I think this will be a great book for you.

Its great fun filled with magic and action
I read this book after I read another day another dungen and loved it! I wish every teenager could fill the supence that this book holds! And read it because this man is a genuis!!!!

This is a great book.
I like this book. It is about a boy-young man who used to be a Plains Indian but ran away to have many adventures, including funny ones, humilliating ones, and just plain tense, scary ones. I think you should read this book because it is just plain good.

A Clarification
A previous reviewer, Adam Cuerden, is referring not to the Willow Game (a fine board game by Greg Costikyan) but to one
of the Cups and Sorcery novels by the same author. I do not recall whether it was the first (Another Day, Another Dungeon) or the second (One Quest, Hold the Dragons). Both are good reads, but are out of print, as is The Willow Game.

The best Role game ever made
I don't know what the other guy who reviewed this item is talking about, I think he's been sniffing too much glue, but this refers to the role-playing game, based on the hit film by George Lucas and Ron Howard. Not some book about Vikings. It includes full color game board of the land of Willow, 144 full color cards, six large full color player cards, 2 plastic pawns, cardstock display, rules booklet, 2 dice and much more! If you like role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons then I highly recommend this game. An enjoyable game that will keep you entertained for hours!

I can't believe I lost my old copy-My alltime favourite book
I read this book several years ago, and have been thinking about it ever since Hillarious book, running gags, witty speeches, and all without once descending out of believabiltity- within its context. One of my favourite passages is after the little viking fellow got temporarially blindied during a battle and started chopping at a tree - and then one of the other characters later reveals a poem about it The viking talks about how its not that great, and how in his country they used alliteration, and then the wizard says something like "I wouldn't push it there, If you convince him of the merits of our poetry, he may be forced to kill you...." A truly excellent book. Can't believe it's out of publication

Even better than the first!
Just when things had begun to take on a normal shade of boredom, Timaeus d'Asperge, and his companions are propelled on another quest. This time, they must accompany Cincianus Polymage, a man of seemingly limitless power but limited sanity, to undo the magic of the statue. However, there are still many (many, many) who want the statue; can our heroes keep the statue and take it all the way to foul Arst-Kara-Morn?

This book is great, even better than the first one (Another Day, Another Dungeon)! At times I found myself laughing out loud. Mr. Costikyan somehow succeeds in making a wonderful admixture of action and comedy. I highly recommend this book, and hope that there will be yet another sequal.

By the way, I'm still a little unclear on the whole "greep" thing, but would like to try some, myself!

A Must-Read for any Fantasy or Comedy lovers!
This book is great! Timeaus and his friends ( minus Gimli who wet to visit his family ) try to get the magic statue to Statius's Scepter, and have the statue stolen! Non-stop fun! Watch for Vic!

Very good fantasy-adventure book
This book's a must for all who like fantasy adventures with elves-dwarfs-magic users, etc. Without being an epic adventure, the mix of adventure, mystery and humor makes the story more than worth reading.

Excellent fantasy farce
A terrific book that plays upon the stereotypes of pulp fantasy. I highly recommend this book! Find a copy, even if it's used; you'll enjoy it.

One of the funniest books i've ever read!
I even named my cat after one of the main charicters. (Sidney!) If your into solid humor, This book has it. Buy a copy! My cat will thank you
