I recently purchased The Dictionary of Psychology. As a student in aDoctor of Clinical Psychology program, and as an older returningstudent who is trying to catch up with other students' knowledge of psychology, I needed a concise but thorough reference book that could define the many new terms and concepts I am meeting in my training. This dictionary has already been a help to me in a recent Statistics midterm - And I fully expect to turn to it time and again in the next few years. Another good feature: it is a recently published book, current in content. Here's to A's in classwork!

This book is a must for all families in need of mending. It is a helpful guide in fairness and unselfish behavior we all forget to practice. Phillips was a true Humanitarian and it is visible in the concern and importance he writes about.

I used this book as a student in my psychotherapy course. I never knew there were so many psychotherapeutic approaches. I was amazed. I enjoyed exploring all these schools analyzed so beautifully in this book. I finally got the chance to see what school of psychotherapy was closer to my needs. I recommend it to all those who have a blurry idea of psychotherapy, like I did.

I believe "current psychotherapies" is a very insightful, informative, and at times profound in it's depth of perspective.

As the title states... the information was iffy.... and it was rather boring. My friend had one, and I asked to borrow it for a while... I read like, one page before letting it alone. I dunno... you might like it, but I have no patience for books like that. ^.^ Thanks for listening to me! Bai!

Superficial and way overpriced. For example, there are no entries at all for psychologists. The first term that I looked up, "spotlight effect," was not included either. Your PSYC 101 text probably has a better glossary.
