A Book that Stays with you for Life.
In 7th grade, I read this book and decided that if I ever had a son, I would name him Jordan. This book is so powerful that 8 years later, I did just that. I have never forgotten this story, and am glad to have found a copy of my own. GET IT!

May I Cross Your Golden River?
I read this book when I a freshman in high school and it was recommended to me by my literature instructor. I can't forget the emotions this story managed to stir within me, and especially at such a young age and dealing with such a topic of tragedy, death, triumph, and strength. I am still searching for a copy of this book today so that I may have it in my personal library. A must read!

Finished years ago--I've never gotten over this book.
I am 36 years old and read this book before junior high school. It touched me so deeply that I still remember the trip to the library with my Mother when I picked it out to read. In high school, my favorite uncle died of ALS and, because of this book, I understand the disease. Once read, this story will never leave you.

He can't take care of them anymore and asks her to take care of them if he gives her enough meat for the whole pack for the rest of their existence. She says yes and she gets enough meat for Ruthie and the rest of the pack. She basically falls in love with them. How ever her sister Savannah is scared to death of Ruthie and the rest of the wolves and the neighbors don't like them. They try to poisin them and Savannah saves them. The rest I will leave for you to find out. Have fun!!

Wolf At The Door
13 year old Lee McDougall thinks it is going to be ruff when she moves to Montana with her sister Savannah and her mom and dad. Nonny their acting grandmother bought them a house in woods, were they are faraway from the main road. While Savannah has an interest in acting and is very good at it and is also a beutiful sister Lee seems to get jealous and thinks she could never be as good as her sister. When Lee and her mom go to the town store their lifes begin to change when they see a sign of a "Roadside Zoo" When Lee and her mother go and check it out they find a near death wolf in a cage with no food or water. Lee and her mother rescue the wolfe, and as they leave shots fire at their truck. Wolfe at the door is a book you don't want to stop reading just when you think you are done with the chapter, you go to the next page and you know you are hooked. I defiantly reconmend the Book Wolf at the door its a great book to read and there is a lot of action!

I loved 'WOLF at the DOOR'!!!!!
Lee McDougall, a 13 year old, has been moved from place to place all of her life, and none of them were as good and bad as wen she moved to Bigfork, Missouri. Her mother and her pick up a poorly treated wolf which they name Ruthie. Soon, their pack grows, and she has a family of 5 wolves. She realizes she is putting her family at risk, and she knows her 12 year old talented sister, is terrified! When danger strikes the wolves, however, her sister helps to save the wolves. This is a great book, I am 10 years old, and loved it so much, I tried to limit myself to reading ONLY 6 paragraphs a day! You must read this for your self!

really awesome
i have read it at least 15 times and still love it because it really portrays the life of the girl well, because she has divorced parents and has to learn to cope with her new surroundings. It also shows how Sky is broken in or trained well. It has all of the things a good book should have. for all of you people who like sad books, i cry every time i read it at one specific spot.

Really good, Really sad
This book is really good. It's sad, too, which I think makes allbooks more interesting. If I could change anything in the book, I would definately change the ending. Instead of sendining the poor, dying skye off to the MEAT PROCESSING FACTORY where he will have a slow and painful death JUST SO i COULD MAKE A FEW BUCKS, i WOULD HAVE SENT HIM TO THE VET, WHERE HE COULD BE PUT OUT OF HIS MISERY WITH NO PAIN. IF THE GIRL REALLY LOVED HER HORSE, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE SENT HIM TO THE MEAT CANNERY TO BE MADE INTO DOG FOOD.

An Excellent Book
The Long Journey is a great book. Barbara Corcoran has created wonderful characters and a suspenseful plotline that all readers will love. The writing is so real that you can feel every single thing that is going on in Laurie's mind throughout the story. Perfect for a cold winter's day in fornt of the fire. :-)

Laurie is 13 years old and lives with her grandfather (her parents died when she was young) in the abandoned mining town of Hawkins Dry Diggins, Montana. Once, the town had been thriving, but when it was discovered that there was no gold in any of the mines, it was quickly abandoned by all except Lauri and her father. Now, you will get to follow Lauri and her horse on an adventure throughout rural Montana that is filled with suspense and excitement. I absolutely loved this book and all of the characters in it. Be sure to read The Long Journey if you can find it. You won't be disappointed!! :-)

Sasha, My Friend
Sasha, My Friend is a wonderful story about wolf/dog and the youngster who becomes his constant companion. The book is spellbinding to a school age child, and it stands out as the most marvelous book of my elementary school years. The book is well written, full of adventure, and unpredictable. I would recommend Sasha, My Friend highly, without reservation.

Very interesting!
The author's style and language are right for the young adult audience it is intended for. I especially like the way the author switches the point of view between Stevie and Eddie without confusing the reader. I think that this is a very effective way to make the book more interesting. Throughout the book, unexpected things happen. It creates a very suspenseful mood. One minute Stevie, Eddie and Fawn are at the train station and the next minute they are in New Hampshire. I never know what is going to happen and I like that. My favorite part is when the kids meet Alex, a teenager who helps them out by taking them to New Hampshire and leting them stay with him.

Grave in the Water
Kim and Stella, the main characters, are trying to solve a mystery. They are trying to figure out who killed the Farleys' oldest son. The Farleys' are newcomers in the neighborhood. One of the friends of the oldest son is also killed in the Farleys' swimming pool.
I liked the book because it was fantastic in my opinion. The characters were great and the way the author made Kim and Stella, who are ordinary people, look like they were real detectives.

Still memorable two decades later
I read this book when it was first published (23 years ago), and many of the scenes, images, and certainly characters are still vivid. This book was a little eerie, but also very comforting in its own way. It is also reflective of a more trusting world than the one which we currently inhabit. The occasional illustrations were equally haunting. I'm disappointed that The Winds of Time is no longer in print
