I've read the book and have given it to many friends as gifts. For those people who are looking for historical data on our cultural histroy (and there's not much out there that's as good as this!) - THIS is the book that you want.

I found this book while doing research on the Philippine Insurrection. It is an excellent story of one officer's experiences across the American west and finally to the Philippines where he had some horrific encounters with outlaw bands, Moro brigands who seemed bullet proof and fearless. His adventures are well written and filled with period knowledge and his vantage point was always from the saddle or between bamboo stalks while Moro bandits slashed away with their razor-edged barongs. Suberb history that should be taught in school. Also recommended "Muddy Glory" and "Little Brown Brother" for some top-notch history during America's first Vietnam.

Another tour de force collection from one of Canada's pre-eminent (and Governor General's Award-winning) poets.

I am a mammalogist new to the field. I designed my first investigation, a mammalian bioinventory of a park in Costa Rica in 1999. The Wilson book was extremely helpful, and I cited it no less than 10 times in my permit application. I reccommend this publication to any persons hoping to work with mammals or currently employed sampling mammal diversity.

I thought that Boy's Dont Cry was an excellent book. I had to read it for a law book report and I thought it was one of the best books that I had ever read.

It was taken back with this book and started crying by the second page. It was a story in which I have just gone through my own "pain" also dealing with the same "brotherhood" who abused kids sexually, physically and psychologically. Due to my Mediation process, I am unable to expose the Brothers name, nor the "brotherhood", nor the compensation payout, but my story is similar. It is a book in which I couldn't put down, the issues, acts and manipulation was the same by this brotherhood all over the world by looks of it. Boys don't cry is an understatement.....Boys who went through this experience DO cry, I still do as a 38 year old. To the Canadian survivors, well done on the exposure of these people and like myself I hope one day "peace" will be with you all

Rarely does a book such as this one strike the reader as so frightening and disconcerting. When I finished this book, I felt almost as helpless as the wards which were placed under the care of their sadistic caretakers. Because many of the victims of this scandal are still alive, it would be unfair and vulgar to to comment on any one specific incident. The author made a comment that "Some of the statements of the men were so moving that the secretaries wept as they keyed them into the police computer (p. 124)." This statement speaks for itself. The photojournalist Darcy Henton wrote this moving account with a finely burnished style which gives the illusion that one is reading the newspaper. His account of Canada's biggest sex abuse scandal is not for the squeamish.

The writers of this book did a good job in compiling a complete list of the English names of the ordines, familiae, genera and species of all mammals of the world, provided with two orderly indexes.
It's a pity that the species order within a genus is alphabetically, instead of taxonomically.
To my opinion it's the only minus; I didn't find any other.
