It's Amazing!
I first looked into this book after a friend shared a success story of another friend who had followed this diet plan. I liked that this plan was individualized for different people. I had purchased the "carbohydrate addicts" book that was on the Oprah Show, but I felt that it was a plan for only certain people - and definitely not for all the mass numbers of people who were buying it! And that proved true when she did her follow-up show and many of the people who followed the diet didn't lose any weight and some even gained weight! Dr. Abravenel's book is specific to the type of body you have and how your individual body processes and stores fat. He gives lots of instruction and information so you can determine exactly what body type you are and understand how your body type works. I discovered I am a "T-Type", and I started the "T-Type Weight Loss Plan" a week-and-a-half ago and I've already lost 10 pounds! And I am not hungry! In fact, I am eating way more on this plan than I have on other plans. I do have occasional cravings for the foods I am most susceptible to, but in time they will subside. He also shows you which exercises and supplements are best for your particular body type - and which diseases your body type is most prone to. And you don't have to spend money buying special food because you just eat regular everyday food. I have been so excited about this program that I have gotten eight other people doing it too! I highly recommend this book to everyone!
First time I ever dieted. Lost 30 lbs in about 9 weeks.
Well, I rolled my eyes when my wife came home with this book. Thyroids and adrenals .. right! I've spent the last 20 years packing on 30 excess lbs, so I was ready to try it. It really didn't take much will power. I was able to eat plenty of things I like and was already eating. Never went hungry, but had to get used to eating more regularly. I did have to cut out caffeine, sugars and starchs, and highly refined grains. More steak and eggs than I've had in years. The diet they recommend for you will depend on your particular body type and requirements. I was really amazed! The fat came off really fast, and I got my metabolism back. I dropped to about 5 lbs below my target college years weight and leveled off. Even cheating all through the holidays (can't offend the folks that made all those cheesecakes and pies), I've stayed within a 4 lb range, and it came back off in a few days. I'm really impressed with this plan. I'm copying this web page to hand out to all the people who keep asking what happened.
It will change your life!
My husband followed Dr. Abravanel's Body Type Diet and Lifetime Nutrition Plan, and it had unbelievable results.
Each body type's plan is well described, and you see results very soon after you begin following the plan. After a while, your body gets balanced, and the weight comes off almost automatically, without any effort.
After about 6 weeks on the plan, my husband was losing about 1 pound a day. The plan is not hard, and you dont starve.
If you tried lots of diets, without results, give this plan a try. You will be amazed!

The Virtuous Therapist by Cohen & Cohen
Cohen and Cohen provide a refreshing alternative to rule-based approaches to the ethical practice of counseling and psychotherapy. Their backgrounds in philosophy, ethical theory, and mental health practice combine to yield a solid foundation for arriving at ethical decisions in the delivery of mental health services. While the first chapter on ethical theory is quite dense, especially for those not trained in the field, subsequent chapters are reader friendly. The authors clearly outline the basic tenets of virtue ethics and the seven major principles that guide this type of ethical decision making. Each chapter includes case studies that illustrate the authors' analyses of the degree to which therapists acted in accordance with virtue ethics. This book is especially useful for mental health practitioners who need to earn continuing education credits relevant to ethical practice of counseling and psychotherapy.

A Fresh Look At Critical Thinking
Elliot Cohen's latest book may be his best yet. In What Would Aristotle Do? Cohen once again lets the light of reason play on the shadowy side of our thinking. He well understands our twisted ways of inventing excuses for our conduct. His logic is sound, his experience wide-ranging. In simplest language, he shows what we can do if mental and emotional hang-ups are ruining our lives. If they are the kind that need only a bit of help from a reasonable philosopher/psychologist like Cohen himself, we should try this method of self-correction, and send those excuses and hang-ups packing!
