a book read to death
This was one of my all time favorites when I was a kid. I read it so many times that the book became tattered. I still have it. The writer does a great job of making the search for a fish into high drama. When I was a child this book opened my eyes to the sciences that were out there to study. It also showed that two people could change what is known about evolution.

A Great Book for Kids
I read this book many times as an elementary school student. It is quite an idyllic story about a family that lives in an old trolley car. They remove the seats and turn it into a quaint home. It is a sweet story that kids today will enjoy. I am planning to add it to my classroom library for my students to read.
The BEST book ever for children!
When I was 10 years old I read and re-read The Trolley Car Family at least 100 times (without exaggerating!) I have loved it all these years and now am reading it to grandchildren!
the book was about a family who move in a trolley car
the family moved in a trolley car that they have towed out in the country read and see what happens to them as in the wilderness

Luke was There
This book is about a teenage boy whose mother is very sick and has to go to the hospital. His dad left him when he was young so he has no one to raise him, Julius, and his little brother, Danny. Julius and little brother Danny have to live in a foster home with a few other kids. Julius starts to think in the book about how he has a bad life. In school he stops trying and becomes a rude person.
This is an great book to read if you are 12 or 13. It really makes you think about what you are thatnkful for. In my opion Eleanor Clymer writes in a style that makes you really interested in it and you won't want to put it down. It makes you feel like you are Julius and in the story you feel the same feelings Julius does.

This is a good story for kids.
This story tells the story of a boy who gets tired of being home during the summer taking care of his sibblings. On top of that, his aunt comes to visit and puts him to clean. He is not happy and he decides to run away to the eggman's farm. He hides in his truck. When the eggman finds the boy, he is very angry. The eggman eventually warms up to the boy.
Santiago's Silver Mine

Santiago a great story
This book is a wonderful story about a little boy from Mexico and his loyal friend, Andreas, who are looking for a ways to help support their families who are in great need. Andreas is the risk taker while Santiago exerts some reticence about some rather wild ideas that come to mind. Some admirable character traits come to the forefront when a "treasure" is discovered in the old defunct mine near the boy's village.

The Gift of the Mystery Horse
Contrary to what you might expect, this short book is not a fantasy; rather, it offers the popular theme of the Country Cure, as well as the rewards of historical research. Readers will receive an easy instruction in the skills of art restortion and the thrill of an auction. Related in the first person, this
story tells how Caroline became horse crazy at age 11 and why
her family ultimately moved out to the country--where she would more easily afford riding lessons.

her family ultimately moved out to the country--where she would more easily afford riding lessons.
During the renovation of the century-old house which they bought, Caroline discovers a locked trap door into an unknown attic, where she finds several
dusty paintings--long stored and forgotten. She falls in love with one of a black race horse and eventually hangs it/her in her room, where she fantasizes about having her own horse. This family offers a refreshing change from the usual dysfunctional dynamics one encounters in YA literature. I particluarly enjoyed the relationship between Caroline and her father; they shared a unique bond, as the country helped their outlooks on life bloom. Clymer also provides a gentle introduction into archival methods and art appreciation. Reads as swiftly as Dark Lady herself!
