In Eye of the Centaur, Barbara Clow has written down her experiences with past-life regression, and courageously shares very personal details about her experiences. She has lived as prophets and priests, and her description of ancient spiritual traditions is fascinating. She also describes lives that were particularly painful for her, and her so-called "ordinary" lives. But whatever life she is narrating, she makes it very clear how reliving her past lives transformed her self-perception and empowered her to fully achieve her potential. I also found the introduction by her past-life therapist, Gregory Paxson, very helpful. The introduction sets down the reasons why past-life therapy is so beneficial for releasing unexplained trauma and phobia in our current lives. This book not only tells us but shows us it is possible to cultivate a much richer understanding of who we really are and that we can consciously work with wisdom we acquired in past lives for the highest good. This is a tremendously powerful book.

After reading The Pleiadian Agenda by Clow, I bought the first book of her Mind Chronicles Trilogy. I intuitively believe the information that Clow shares with us is of paramount importance and should be read by all who want to improve their personal life in the most meaningful way. I look forward to the day where I can fully understand my present incarnation with the wisdom of past incarnations as Clow has. Clow's past lives as a priest of Enoch, a Minoan princess(Aspasia),a Druid priest and as an Egyptian priest known as Ichor, definetly indicates why she is one of the most incredible astrologers today. The aforementioned lifetimes also reveals why she is channelling the most significant information we need to know today for she has done so in her past lives. Her most prophetic past life that we are familiar with is Isaiah, who fortold of Jesus Christ 600 years before his coming. Clow relates of other past lives that are quite ordinary: a Roman capitalist, a depressed prostitute around 600 A.D., an unhappily married Victorian woman in early 1900, and a happily married court jester around 1590 A.D., etc. For each of these lives and others she relates their experiences to her present lifetime. In sharing her past life content, I felt an inner growth of awareness of myself and a passionate curiosity to want to learn more of my multidimensional self and the synchronous earthly happenings of those times. I look forward to reading the other two books of this trilogy. Clow's life is not only incredibly fascinating, but is also important for us to read for she is preparing us for the global and cosmic shift we are now experiencing by helping us to dwell on multidemensional therapies to equip us for our future.

Barbara Hand Clow is a noted astrologer, shaman, teacher, theologian and trained anthropologist, a tireless researcher, and the author of a number of important and best-selling books including "Pleiadian Agenda" and "Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner and Outer Planets." In "Catastrophobia: The Truth Behind Earth Changes in the Coming Age of Light" she once again reaches beyond the consensus to shed new light and original thinking on the events, processes and anxieties that humans deal with on a daily basis.

The pervasive fear of an impending catastrophe is the motivating force, in Ms. Clow's postulation, behind and beneath all of the obsessions having to do with the structure of contemporary earthly civilization: work, human relationships, the economy, the environment and the state, and the search for healing of these structures and ourselves. I am fortunate to have been a student of Barbara Hand Clow for over ten years and have traveled with her (through Power Places Tours) to many of the historical sites she references in the book. Together we have explored and questioned the meanings and possibilities of what we saw. However, I could never have pieced it together from what our direct experience was. Definantly not for the weak of heart,this is a vast cosmic journey to the source. The opening chapters explore some of the darkest sides of human karma i have ever read. Sexual initiations, mind control,loss of free will, and deliberate seperation from the soul. Barbara Hand Clow presents all this lovingly,and without any judgment towards herself as these are parts of her souls experience,she winds in the Emerald Records with all this, the secret origins of the Earth, who guards what,who created what, and who is the keeper of the knowledge.Going back and forth from other lives to present day reality to galactic records is done well in this book so as to not confuse the reader any more than the overwhelmingly moving material will anyway.Reading about the sexual initiation on top of Tikal by a 14 year old male priest of the Jaguar Cult of a 9 year old preistess had me in tears,dense static energy running through my feet and hands. This is an unusual book that covers a very wide range of approaches to personal transformation and spiritual knowledge. In some ways this attempt to integrate so much knowledge works well, but as my own interest is primarily astrology, I found some of the other content a distraction from her often original and insightful treatment of the major cycles of Saturn, Uranus and Chiron.

For example, although I have practised various forms of meditation and am familiar with the chakras and kundalini, I don't know if the correspondences to the more extreme physical, psychological and spiritual crises described at the Uranus opposition "mid-life crisis" are as Clow suggests. Yes there are unexpected shocks, energy shifts, and major changes of life direction at around age 40 when the transit kicks in, but whether this relates to the unblocking of chakras and the rising of kundalini is another matter, for me at least. Perhaps she is ahead of me here.

However, this book is packed with so many different perspectives, I would be surprised if many people could wholeheartedly embrace all of them! Shamanism, the end of the Mayan Great Calendar, scientific insights on energy fields, mythology, all feature. It is powerful stuff. There is some quality astrology and at times an unusual blend of "far out" cosmic ideas with a very firm grip on reality in the Western world. There are some interesting sociological observations on the pros and cons of different types of spirituality and a large number of case histories to demonstrate the key life stages described. I keep coming back to sections of the book that I personally find useful, and suspect that many others would do the same.

Since 1977, when I first began my "official" metaphysical journey, I have been a student and now instructor of astrology, numerology and metaphysics. I found Barbara's first book on Chiron/Rainbow Bridge, most insightful and helpful when I was directly experiencing Chiron's influence. It was one of the first books I reached for in my time of Kundalini Crisis. During my recent personal Kundalini Crisis/ Spiritual Emergence, I discovered her most recent book, Liquid Light of Sex. (It practically jumped into my hands.) I felt she was writing to me and for me. I deeply experienced much of what she was explaining and have, as a result of reading her book, been able to assist myself and others much more efficiently in their jouney. As as long time student of astrology, I have felt as she did, that Chiron was a significant discovery and have found her descriptions and explanations easy to follow and quite in alignment with my own experience and observations of numerous friends, family and client charts. I have also found that much of what she explains is also mirrored and supported in other books such as Pluto Vol II by Jeffrey Wolf Green, Sexual Energy & Yoga by Elisabeth Haich, Kundalini Rising by Barbara Condron, Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith and several of Dr. Heather Anne Harder's books, just to name a few. As a student of Eastern philosophies, I too believed the "warnings" put forth in the traditional yogic philosophies re: raising the Kundalini without the guidance of a skilled teacher. I was not looking for, nor did expect to have such an incredible experience this lifetime, HOWEVER, I did, and so have many others, spontaneously. I did not have the benefit of a teacher, I relied heavily on books such as this one. I have recommended this book to many and astrologically, I value her research/insight into this oft overlooked influence in the chart. A "must have" addition for professional and amateur astrologers (or novices) libraries & knowledge banks!

This unique work is 10-15 years ahead ot its time. Explanations of key life transits and sequence of events explain how, why, and WHEN, we experience many of life's lessons and challanges. Though the writing is mystical at times, she relates a profound truth. She also breaks new ground. Mr. Williams (previous) review confirms that her work is shaking up the old school of dangerously closed-minded New Agers. Thank heavens! New ideas must often come from outside the fields caged by "distinguished insiders." Learned experts have reputations which keep them in fear of being wrong and stuck in old traditions which are no longer appropriate for this stage of human evolution. Busting this group soul ego is the task of the Pluto in Leo generation. Barbara's wide field of knowledge is a great service in evolution of consciousness. We are living in an age where generalists are the great thinkers. She knows what she is talking about. I've experienced it. Its reality to me.

Well this book seemed very interesting at first so I just had to get my own copy. I began reading the first chapters with much enthusiasm but soon got bored and uninterested actually. I also felt that this book got stuck on less important details at some occasions, but that might be just me.

I like the approach of this book but it didn't really convince, me perhaps I had to high expectations or another title would have served this book better...

But I'm not alien to ideas of mankind being related to other planets, systems or nonearthly beings etc.

I suggest you borrow this book from your local library instead.

To read this book is to have your eyes opened. Unlike many other channeled works that jog your universal memory banks, this one really pries into your heart chakra with the minimal amount of intellectual effort. The channeled knowledge contained within this book is a grade above similar works such as The Explorer Race by Robert Shapiro because it is transmitted on an emotional level that reinforces the Bear & Co. Publishing paradigm that emotions are the keys that human use to unlock their power and that of the earth they are organically and morphogenetically linked to.

Welcome to this wake-up call. Whoosh, at the time I read this book, which is a while ago by now, I thought I'd been 'shaken up' enough by the Pleiadians to be able to handle more 'wild' information. Not!

Phew, I needed to take my time with it. Read it a chapter at a time, or sometimes just a page at a time. And sometimes I needed to put this book in a closet somewhere and not get back to it until a couple of weeks (or months) later.

But I LOVED it. At times while reading it my mind was sweating, trying to keep up with the info that was flooding in. Sometimes I felt emotions rising. And other times I was swimming in all the old memories that came back in, or exuberantly broke through the old limits in ecstatic joy and enjoyed my re-found freedom. "Oh yeah!!! That's right! I forgot! There is no limit here! So hey, why wait? Let's go!!"

It's been more than a year now since I've read this book, I guess. And whoah, what a big journey of changes has occurred since then. Every so many days I get this sence of "Oh yeah, now I'm really speeding up in my personal growing process." And the next day: "Oh no, NOW I do!" ...and the next day: "I did it again..."

I have a sense it might be time to just pick up "The Pleiadian Agenda" again and to read those chapters that I did read back then but didn't fully understand. Maybe now I'm ready for them and am I open enough to hear the message.

So if you read this book and you just don't get it quite yet: Just sit back and enjoy your day. Try again later, whenever you feel drawn to do so.

This has got to be one of the all-out WEIRDEST astrology books I've ever read or bought! If you're a Uranus/Neptune-type, you'll adore this book, but some of us are a little more, ahem, grounded. Clow has all kinds of theories about Chiron that I found really hard to digest. She barely mentions the effects of Chiron transits, aspects to Chiron, Chiron in the the signs and houses; instead she goes on and on about some undiscovered planet she has given some strange name, and talks about chakras and psychic healing. Any book that uses a phrase like "star-f---er" is not going to do it for me.

Clow's book was one of the first to delve in the significance of Chiron. However, it is an uneven reference piece. There are too many pages devoted to charts and the chapter on the Mythology of Chiron could be reduced to a page or two (for me, anyway). There isn't enough on the powerful transits of Chiron to the Natal chart. Her under-pinning theory rings true, but it all gets a little New Age and long winded. However, when the book hits the mark, it hits true. Astrologers need an updated and more concise edition of this landmark book.

I really enjoyed this book! It is one of only two books that I know of that really explain Chiron in depth. Chiron is such an important aspect to astrology, and so few people (certainly very few lay people like myself) actually KNOW about it! I think the author does an excellent job on organizing the sections of the book. In particular, I like the fact that she breaks down Chiron's effect by sign and by house, as separate sections. I also like the way she describes how specific kinds of aspects (like Chiron trine Saturn, etc.) affect you, rather than just talking about "aspects" in general. Because she does have so many subsections, some of the subsections are brief and, thus, necessarily superficial. For instance, I would really like to know more about the interaction between Chiron and Pluto when they oppose each other! Also, I find that part of the focus of the author is based on the aspects of the people in her immediate surroundings, rather than the general public. On the other hand, she speaks of what she knows, and has studied Chiron in relation to a LOT of clients, so her personal knowledge is pretty broad-based. Very upbeat, and fun, book, overall.
