very good book
This book mostly talked about his life off of the pitch and all the stress he went thourgh in the the World Cup.
A true soccer genius
I bought this book about a year ago. It is an inside look into Ronaldo's life, more about his personal life than his career on the pitch. Ronaldo is truly the best player on earth, despite FIFA's thoughts of Zizou. Ronaldo is up there with the Gods of the sporting world: Michael Jordan, Mohammed Ali, Pele, Johann Cruyff, Eusebio, Diego Armando Maradona, etc. If you think you know Ronaldo, read this book...
this book is not onely about star its about brazil
i got this book for my birth day a i read it. i thought that itall talk a bout soccer, but it didn't. i taked abot how he grow up inbrazil and how the enverment was so diffecult in there. how he escaped from all bad things like gaging and drug and alcholes. his father was not so lucky. he smoked and he had alot of alckholes and drug. he was very unkind to his wife and his son. there fore, his wife decided to built up her self and her son.

a brilliant insite into the world of a hitman
I couldnt put this book down. Brilliantly written. This book made me feel I was living the life of the hitman (malcom Deakin). I was totally stoked on how graphic and detailed it was.I'd definately read it again.definately one of clarksons best fictional books.

Excellant Novel
Excellant biography. Its objective, funny, interesting, and well researched. A must read not only for fans of the hot shot director, but for anyone interested in the process that goes into making movies. My only quarrel is that it ends before the making of From Dusk Till Dawn or jackie Brown.

An intriguing true story of espionage, murder & cover-up
Author Wensley Clarkson does a commendable job in uncovering the tragic murder of a British agent who got too close to the ruthless world of international arms dealers. The book goes behind the news stories, and provides a keen insight to what really goes on in the world of espionage and counter-intelligence. It's also a who-done-it mystery that keeps the reader guessing until the very end. Clarkson's work is enhanced by its focus on the human tragedy of two loving parents forced to deal with the loss of an only child, and their stuggle to see justice done. Anyone with an interest in this subject area will love it. "The Valkyrie Operation" is an absolute must-read for British citizens who want a taste of how the secret-side of their government operates.

Unbelievable Crimes!
This book contains 10 true stories about doctors,
who for one reason or another commit murder. In most of the cases the victim is usually someone
very close to the killer. The details in the book
are just enough and not overly told. When you
finish with one story, you can't wait to go to the next one. It's very easy reading and well written.

More Than Just Good Looks
This book is big and unveils the story behind the legendary American-born Australian international movie star. While most famours movie stars seemed to have been determined and willing to follow a career in acting, Mel Gibson has sort of 'fallen' into it when his sister enrolled him at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. It took him about a year to actually take acting seriously, and just before graduation his lucky numbers came up when he was casted in the lead role for Mad Max (The Road Warrior). The rest is history. The author Clarkson, shows us a Gibson who is hard to pin down, who likes to have a good time, who knows his worth, especially in the later years, but who has his own morals, sometimes disturbing, and who likes to keep his life as private as he can possibly can. This books is amazingly well researched, although by the end of it, one can't help feeling that they've read every other person's opinion on Gibson and know little about the man himself. Thoroughly enjoyable, though, if you like Mel Gibson.

A well written book, if based partially on small town gossip
This is a well written book, seemingly well researched, although another reviewer disagrees and I cannot verify the accuracy of the information. Much of the book does seem to be based on gossip and one person's reputation in a town, but that doesn't mean it's inaccurate. There are several references to facts that were not made public or not brought out in trial but we're never really told why. All in all, this book is well worth reading.
Excellent, a must read true crime book!
This book is well written, definitely not garbage, which leads me to believe 'a reader from Michigan City, Ind.' who wrote 'This book is garbage!, October 4, 1998' must be the killer writing from prison. (See the review below.) No one else would be so vehemently opposed to this book! Deadly Seduction describes the unbelievable life of Susan Grund. She grew up poor. Her way out was to marry up. Unfortunately she easily became a bored housewife. Her opportunity was always 'a new man in her life.' Read this book to find out all the juicy details of the death and destruction surrounding her.
Read This Book!
This is a really good book. It's a true story about the life of Jim and Susan Grund. I live 4 houses down from their old house ( 7 Summit Drive) I don't see how and wife could do that to their husband, but oh well... this book is really good. if you are into true stories and whatnot, I would suggest this book to you

In Depth View of Mel's films and personal life
Mr. Clarkson wrote a book in 1994 titled "Mel the Inside Story" (hardcover). This book was held up and not released in the United States because Mr. Gibson's lawyers were trying to stop it from being published. I have that book and can understand why he didn't want it published. Although it does give and excellent film history, throughout the book the author seems to have a jealousy of Mel and his success and repeatedly slanders and denigrates his father and religious beliefs. This book in paperback is the same book, a little updated. I am a big Mel fan and don't like the author's tone at times, but if you are a fan you will find it extremely interesting and informative. You will just have to take some parts of it with a grain of salt- "he said, she said" stuff and rumors. In any case, if you have the hardcover "Mel the Inside Story", dont bother to purchase this update. I could only rate either of these 3 stars because of the sense of personal bias throughout. A good book on Mel is Lethal Hero which is out of print (I have it, too) but you may be able to get a copy. It has better personal views of Mel, but, surprisingly, some really juicy stuff that Mr. Clarkson missed out on. In any case, MEL RULES!!!
Many facts you could not find anywhere else!
If you really want to know about the life of Mel Gibson, this is the book for you. I swear it must have every little thing that has happened to him since he was born! It doesn't have many pictures and the ones it does have are not very high quality but, if you want information about Mel, well then you've come to the right book. It doesn't miss a thing!

worth reading
I found this book to be fairly interesting. Once again it is all about greed and money. I feel the writer could have gone into a little more depth, but all in all a good read.
Accurate exposition
Living in Augusta I particularly enjoyed this book, which does a good job of summarizing the relevant aspects of the city.

Terry's Fight
Many readers have accurately said this book is not the best written account of crimes so hideous they should be fiction. I still have the book but it has been a while since I've read it. What I can add is the fact that two unidentified bodies of young women were found several years apart and it was the implausible tale of Terry (who turned out to be their sister) that led to detectives uncovering their identities and ascertain they were brutally killed by one person -- their own mother. It took Terry an inexcusably long time to get police to believe her and that is too often the case, especially if the victim is female. It was her strength and determination that finally brought to life her ordeal and the ordeal of her brothers and sisters leading up to the tragic ends of both her sisters. Although it is not a complete account it should still be read by all who have a need to know not all mothers are good but are rather the epitomy of evil.
Real life horror!
I read this years ago, and again recently, and while I thought the book was overall well written, the ending did leave more to the imagination than an actual fiction. The fact that these atrocities actually happened is what kept me intrigued, however it all seemed to come to a sort of anti-climactic end which left me with more questions than answers. I feel great empathy for the main protagonist, Terry Knorr, but also find it rather sad her view was not taken, if not explored more in-depthly. She plays second narrator, if any real part to the horror she witnessed, if any at all. I feel that perhaps the book was published before due time, and that perhaps waiting until the eventual trial had ellapsed rather than leave the reader clutching at straws, would have been more satisfying. Even now I still don't know what came of telling the story, moreover, what punnishment was handed out, if any at all, after all the build-up and tension, and the emphasis and repeatativeness of Ms Cross' testimony prior to anyone paying her heed. Sadly, it's as if it was released amid the hype and hype and frenzy of the events being uncovered, which have not stood the test of time, some fifteen years later. I wonder, does anyone even care now?
Very sad,made me cry
I read this book a couple of years ago under another title which I think was called The Worst Mother In The World. This is the only true crime book that I have ever read that actually made me cry.I consider myself pretty hardened to this type of reading but I felt so sorry for the children in this family having such an evil, nutcase of a mother. It's little wonder that children growing up in the violent and sick environment that these poor kids had turn out to be killers and develop severe mental problems. The thing that gets me,and you hear this all the time,is that although friends and neigbours and even family members knew that this mother was a sandwich short of a picnic - nobody tries to help these poor kids! This woman was a manipulative sadistic woman so consumed with jealousy that her daughters were prettier than her that she tortured them killing two out of three in the end.The worst thing is,is that she enlisted the help of her own sons to get rid of the bodies! These children endured severe beatings, starvation followed by mountains of food fed forcefully until they were sick and made to eat the vomit, they were drugged, made to drink enough alcohol until they passed out and eventually one of the daughters was shot by her own mother while being held in place by her two brothers because her mother was a lousy shot an didn't want to miss. Not only was she shot but as she didn't die,her mother nursed her back to health.I won't tell you how the bullet was removed as I don't want to ruin the next set of unimaginable events for you. This book is not one of the most well written that I have read but the story makes up for that.Very sad,Your worst nightmare come true,I only hope that someone does to the mother what she did to her kids.Makes you gasp. Will stay in your mind.A must for all true crime readers but not for the faint hearted.
