Their dog Ooshka becomes their guide as they must return the magical pinecone to the valley of Tekontha. Many adventures come their way. Flavoured with native indian folklore. The author lived in British Columbia and the setting is 1950's west coast Canada. More appropriate for children grade 3+ as some of their adventures may be scary for younger children (i.e. the "Lake Snake Swamp"). Paperback has beautiful new illustrations.
