The plates are in vivid colour, bringing back to life the epic battles and heroic deeds between Lord Chelmsford's soldiers and the greatest warrier nation in the history of the African continent. It is a beautiful book, crafted with care by its author. The text contains many details not found in other books on this campaign. If you ever have the good fortune to come across a copy, do not hesitate to buy it. A copy in fair to good condition will cost about $450 to $600, but for any scholar of Zulu, or Victorian military history, David Clammer's book is an essential part of your reading.
