A delicious new book
I have been to Venice many times, but this book makes me want to go back soon and try some of the interesting, less known restaurants and trattorias written about here. The authors have really done their homework.

M...
You must have Chow! Venice confused with another book. Our book is not shipping until mid-July!

We do have detailed listings that will be very helpful to vegetarian diners, however.

GREAT READ
I found this book through a forum on a website named slowtrav.com while searching for vegetarian cuisine in Italy, this book was mentioned on the site so I decided to run out and purchase it. This book was fascinating and very well written.

Excellent practical information
This book contains excellent and practical information. The best book on Feng-Shui! Its applications really work. Our household has benefited greatly from the advice given in this book. We feel so blessed to have found such an excellent information.

What a wonderful book!
What a wonderful book!
After using the advice in the book, my husband found a job the very next day! I can look back now and see the reasons why certain things have happened where we have lived before.

After reading many books on Feng-Shui with the many different techniques, none worked. This one did.

Thank you for making this book so simple to understand and easy to use.

Real Feng Shui by an authentic Master
I run a Feng Shui consultancy in the UK employing several consultants - all Chinese who learned their skills from famous Masters like Grand Master Yap Cheng Hai of Malaysia and Master George Lau of Hong Kong. Reading this we were astounded by the depth and reach of Grand Master Sheng-Yen Lu's teachings. He covers things you'll see commonly in English like 24 Mountains and goes through into advanced Flying Star, Form school and out into profound Tao practices to change the flow of Qi. His knowledge is extraordinary and to see these secrets in English is rare. An easy and smooth read, if you've been reading up on Feng Shui then this will blow your socks off! I've got over 100 hundreds books in my library and there is simply nothing like this!!!

Chow Qigong works
The stories of healing with Qigong are not exaggerated. Lay people can generate sufficient healing energy using Dr. Chow's methods to be felt by others and to assist healing, in our case, my daughter's very severe ulcerative colitis.

Awesome all around info about QiGong - A must read!
This books is good for the beginner or advanced. It goes into the history, where it is now, and where it could go.

Awesome! It's a must have for anyone interested in Qigong.
An excellent book for the beginner and the advanced. Lots of very informative information and sources given. Describes Qigong in the past, present and future. A powerful Qigong system that really does give quick results.

Flair: Fashion Collected by Tina Chow

A Fashion Legacy
Tina Chow was not only a celebrity of her time, but a wise investor in vintage Haute Couture. Before her untimely death, she amassed a collection of some of the finest clothes ever made. Tina was a model and great beauty, but she was also a person with a family and friends and her legacy as a socialite and fashion maven should not die with her. I hope that her family someday writes the biography of Tina.

A reminder of Tina Chow's fashion legacy
I'm not a fashion fanatic but I do wish I could own this book! After borrowing this book twice (and maybe more in the future), I've come to the conclusion that I'm drawn more to the photography of the clothes in this book, rather than the clothe itself:| Anyways, the book is first presented with an innocent Preface by Tina Chow, then a seemingly detailed Introduction with unique photos of Ms. Chow at work or wearing her collection. I like how this book is easily divided by designers of the clothes Tina Chow has collected. Each part has a detailed and sometimes historic description of the dresses. Some have patterns and sketches drawn out. The combination of intricate lighting, angles, and closeups on the fashion makes the photos stunning. But one must marvel at Ms. Chow's beauty when posing in some of her collections. She adds much sparkle and longetivity to these rather out of date and sometimes "tacky" dresses that I can never find myself in. Well, except in the "cheongsam" that Ms. Chow is seen posing in with parasols seemingly floating around her.. Since Ms. Chow's passing, I can see this book as a reference for admirers of her collection. Or rather, as a surprise since there are cameos by those closest to her. Sorry, no Warhol..but you'll see. :-)

living between two cultures
I always think that for those who were born in this country (USA) do not have any problems to "fit in" at schools or at work or at any communities. They were "American-born." Racial problems or discrimination issues should only be occurred to those who emigrated from other countries. Apparently it is not always the case. As the second generation and has an interracial-marriage, Ms Chow experienced unavoidable conflicts between her two cultures. In this well-written book, she not only told her own story, but also unveiled many other Asian-Americans women's stories. I enjoyed it!

An important book for Asian-American and Women's Studies
This is an imaginative, well-written, and important book. Claire Chow has explored a range of issues concerned with conflicts between Asian and American culture and social expectations. Topics included are gender relations and the tension between Asian-American expectations and those of the immigrant generation; mothers and daughters; fathers and daughters; choosing a partner; marriage and divorce; raising children; employment; ethnicity and identity; and a sense of belonging among other subjects. The writing is lucid, her family therapist training and experience applied in informative and insightful ways. Her own experience and her interviews are carefully integrated for maximum impact on her narrative presentation and her analysis. This book will be valuable in the classroom and for those Asian-American women and men who want a better perspective on how their experience is consistent with and differs from that of other immigrants, as well as from 1.5, second, and later generation Asian-Americans. I will use it in my class on the Asian American Experience and others will find it informative and suggestive.

chow chows are cute
we have a chow chow puppy and its cute

For the love of Chows
What a wonderful little book! We had a Chow many years ago and were considering replacing our previous mixed breed dog (who died of old age) with a Chow puppy. After we read this book, and carefully considering the pros and cons, we couldn't wait to find the right breeder. Chows aren't for everyone but this book convinced us it was still the right breed for us. The book is a buy at 3 times the price.

A must read for all gymnastics fans!
They took our hearts in Atlanta, now read a more detailed selection on these seven remarkable gymnasts. In this book, the author talks about each gymnast of the womens gymnastics team in each of the chapters, which she then goes into more specfic details about what the gymnast has done before the Olympic Games, what changes have occured after winning their first ever gold, and what the future holds for these seven young women.

A must for gymnastics fans.
If you like gymnastics you'll love this book! It tells about the lives of the seven gymnasts on the 1996 gold medal winning U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Kerri Strug, Dominque Dawes, Jaycie Phelps, Amanda Borden, and Amy Chow. There are pictures of each girl from their very young life to the 1996 Olympics.

This is a must for gymnastics fans!
This book has 14 pages each on each member of the Magnificent Seven. There are color photos of each of them from birth to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. The book tells you about their feelings of the '96 Olympics and also tells a bit about their career up to Atlanta. This book has pictures of each gymnast from the family photo album. You probably won't see them anywhere else. I think this book is for only gymnastics fans. I think non-gymnastics fans will think the book is boring. I reccomend this book to any gymnastic fan!

The World of the Chow Chow
Compared to the other books specifically on Chow Chows, this book is better. However, that is not saying much. A real good book would deal more in-depth on the care, genetics, potential health problems and their cure or prevention, and breeding (whether to breed or not). Also important would be a more detailed and illustrated chapter on what to look for and avoid in the Chow. Other books, including this one, tend to overemphasize pages and pages of glossy photos of show winners, their kennels, their trophies, etc. - none of which are really helpful to the average Chow owner. A good book would stress the importance of health and functionality over show dog looks (which are influenced by passing fads, often downright harmful to a dog.) I sincerely hope that chow breeders get away from overly stocky, overly built chows who can't trot without panting heavily because of overly short muzzles, Chows with overly thick eyefolds that obscure their vision, Chows who don't whelp naturally because either their puppies have overly big heads or their anatomical structure no longer accommodates natural whelping, and chows that can't move right because they are not built right. The greatest travesty to Chows would be reduce the once proud, independent, working dog to a man-made freak like the English bulldog.

Chow Chows Rule....
I contributed 12 photographs to this project and at the time it was printed...this book did a good job of showing where the Chows where today. Also mentioned were the Kennels that raised the Chows and showed them in the ring. If you want a good quality Chow, then I think you should go with a breeder. I have owned 5 Chows and still have a white male that runs the house.
Full blooded Chows are a joy to live with...It was a great
experience to be a part of this project...

A must for any Chow owner!
The World of the Chow Chow is absolutely fantastique! It is filled with stunning photos and an abundance of information on each Chow that is proudly displayed - it is only equaled by Isabella Milani's Chow Chow Champions of Europe in quality and it blows every other Chow book out of the water. Sure, it's a little bit pricey but it is definitely worth every penny. You will not regret owning this book.

Another strong OCP exam guide from Oracle Press
Last year I used Oracle Press's OCP Developer exam guide to prepare for, and pass, the Developer/2000 exams. The book worked great. Now I need to apply my Forms knowledge to creating custom Financials screens, so I bought this book. Its excellent. It gives the underlying logic behind Financials, and then goes into screen-by-screen detail. Very helpful. After buying this book and starting to read it, I've rescheduled my first Apps exam from a month away to next week!

Thorough coverage of a complicated topic
Oracle's Financials package is a complicated collection of software. This book takes it from the beginning, progressing in a logical step-by-step process. I was just about to take my first OCP exam, and saw this book, so I bought it. Am I glad I did! There was a lot that I didn't know because my business didn't need all of the functionality that is tested. I crammed like crazy, and then took the first exam...and passed it. I wouldn't have passed if I hadn't read the first part of this book.

On to exam 2!

Everything you need to know for OCP Financials exams
This book covers every point in the OCP exams for Financials consultants. Lots of hands-on exercises, and lots of wise perspective from someone who obviously has done a lot of installations. Considering what the book contains, it's price is really low.
