Perfect!
As a young woman is cleaning a church, the pastor's widow arrives for a last look around. They find a jar filled with little trinkets from previous church members. The widow explained the jar was "a story jar" and that each item had a special story behind it. Thus three stories emerge about some of the items.

*** A special book just in time for Mother's Day! In between each novella are poems and short true tales from various other people. Many of them are author names I recognize. However, several are not. I saw some poems from children about their mothers. It was so special and gave me such a warm feeling. The stories are inspirational. I found myself near tears of sadness at times, joy at others, and a few times a feeling of awe and wonder that only another mother could understand. Fabulous! ***

For all who are or would like to be mothers . . .
This book isn't just for Mother's Day--if you are a mother, have a mother, or would like to BE a mother, this book is for you. The three authors have given us such different stories--they cover all aspects of motherhood, including the desperate wanting to be a mother an infertile woman feels. A lovely book that's as honest as anything I've read lately. There are no easy answers, but God is faithful. I highly recommend!

A heartwarming collection
A collection of heartwarming stories that honors mothers of all ages can be found in "The Story Jar." Top inspirational writers Robin Lee Hatcher, Deborah Bedford and Angela Elwell Hunt team up to produce a continuity story about an ordinary jar that holds an extraordinary power to encourage and heal the heart. The story jar was placed on the alter of a small country church each Mother's Day, and the mothers of the church would each contribute some small memento that has meant something to them during the previous year. Those mementos are the basis for a tale that weaves through several generations of women, and how they drew strength and encouragement from the lessons learned. Also included in "The Story Jar" are tributes from some of the country's top inspirational writers to their mothers including Lori Copeland, Linda Windsor and Jerry Jenkins. This book will inspire women everywhere to rejoice in the gift of children, and after all, this is the reason behind Mother's Day! Now, go get your mom a present!

Encouraging, embracing, enriching
All caregivers, myself included, must reach out for support in these difficult times. Reaching out can sometimes be the hardest thing to do, and yet so essential. It is important to go beyond "coping" and into "living." This book is "living." It is alive with hope in all its many shapes and forms. It is thought provoking, compassionate, beautiful and practical. I have referred "Visits" to so many people, and refer to it myself very often.

A beautifully written, touching book filled with wisdom
Lee Ann Chearney's book strikes the perfect balance between realsim and optimism. dealing with an aging parent is one of the most difficult things for an adult child to grapple with. Chearney shares her experiences with you in an intimate way that I (and I imagine most people in the same situation) can really understand and relate to. It helped my family immensely to see the parallels between her mother and my father, both aged and in nursing homes. I gained stregnth though her strength, and even through her weaknesses, which reassured me in mine. It's a beautiful, helpful book that every person with an ailing older parent should read.

A must-read if your parents are aging--and that's all of us
As Bruce Leff, M.D., points out in the forward, "Visits paints a full and immensely rich canvas and gives texture, depth, nuance, and shape to the emotional experience of planning for the care of--and caring for--aging loved ones." Organized in one-page topics, this book covers both the personal (such as Chearney's elderly grandmother's reluctance to have a flu shot) and the impersonal (including navigation tips for the equally forbidding terrains of nursing homes and Medicaid), in words that are both inviting and inspirational. Chearney's done a great service to all who, sooner or later, will of necessity wade into the elder-care waters, and I've already recommended this book to a number of friends who are either just now arriving at the shore, or are heading toward the deeper water that Chearney has learned to tread so well. Equally helpful are 2 Appendices: one a list of important papers to have on hand; the other a nursing home checklist; as well as a lengthy list of resources that includes everything from the American Association of Retired Persons to the Visiting Nurses' Association of America. Highly recommended.

The Impossible Becomes Possible
I just finished reading "Alien Child" by author Mona Lee, and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this book! It was so well written that the words effortlessly eased themselves off the page and into my heart and imagination.

With an easy to follow story line and deliciously decriptive characters and scenery, the author awakens the texture, personality and emotional depth within the reader. We are taken on a journey through and beyond a seemingly "normal" experience. The impossible becomes possible, and "Alien Child" becomes personally realistic and absorbing even though the book is labeled "science fiction" and "fantasy".

The concept of blending science-fiction and fantasy into the realities of global political structures is a highly effective strategy. Ms. Lee successfully introduces new ways of thinking and positive role models to a growing audience hungry for peaceful solutions to human sufferings. She stretches our belief systems and expands the concept of unlimited human potential within everyday people and events.

Another fine quality of this book is the physical presentation and layout. Separations by chapter and date enhance the storyline and development, and the centered, even margins are easy on the eye.

Many people continue to work toward healthy globalization, United Nations reform, and the establishiment of enforceable laws and justice through the International Criminal Court (ICC). I commend Ms. Mona Lee for her creative presentation of these innovative ideas, and will encourage my friends and colleagues to read her fascinating and engrossing novel.

Thank you for making this book available on amazon.com

An exquisitely powerful journey of the intuitive self!
This book is engulfing! I'm so happy each night when I fall asleep reading such wonderfully descriptive text! The main character is enchantingly beautiful, in a most spiritual way. The insightful remarks about the structure of our society and what it means to be human make this book worthy of my highest regards.

An alien child inspires a new global consciousness.
Innocence and intrigue, love and fear, war and peace -- the themes are eternal. But an other-worldly perspective suggests a new and hopeful vision. This is the apocalypse in reverse. Be prepared for a page turner that inspires. From the lonely self-doubts and confusions of a young girl to the emergence of a global consciousness for peace and justice. To paraphrase Daniel Berrigan, "we must dream of things we never expect to see". This is that dream. It is our faith, our gift, for the generations to come.

Great Resource
There are very, very few books on starting and operating a for-profit child care business (believe me, I have looked!). This one is a gem; very well written by a person who has been there. Her flexible time system is right-on, although I'm not sure I'd have the guts to implement it. Margins are thin in this business; this book should help you get all you can out of it.

Comprehensive, well written, in-depth guide. Excellent
This is an excellent source book for anyone considering opening a child care center. It is comprehensive, well written and logically organised. The author covers every area of developing a center, from organisation of the space to conflict resolution to highlighting the ten most common mistakes in running a center. I would thoroughly recommend this book for anyone considering starting a business in child care.

Excellent detailing of starting up & managing child care ctr
The authors covered all aspects of startup from location and economics in your area to business plan examples. Showed implementation of their "flex-time" programming which is wonderful. I checked this book out of the library and two days later (after I finished it) I went out and bought it. It will be used over and over I am sure.

Notes from the author
When I first began working with adolescent abuse survivor's, I saw a need for written information about the effects of abuse to help educate kids about the fact that many of the difficulties they were experiencing were a result of the abuse, not the result of charachter defects or being a "bad" person, as so many survivors come to believe. In searching for written material, I found a wealth of well written information geared towards adults. When I tried to use this material to help my teen clients, they complained that all of the examples in these books were about adults, and there were too many big words. They were right. Teens need materials they can relate to. My goal in writting the survivor's guide was to write something specifically for teen survivors, with examples from real adolescent survivors, and written in "normal language." I have been blessed by a number of letters from survivors who have found this book helpful. Helping kids who have had to deal with this terribly difficult issue on a personal level is just what I wanted to do. These strong kids deserve all the support we as a society can give them. I hope you too will find this book helpful in your journey.

A must read on the aftereffects of sexual abuse
This short, comprehensive book gives the survivor of sexual abuse insight into why they feel the way they do. While easy to read, it isn't simpleminded or condescending. The Survivor's Guide gives sensible steps that lead toward healing and away from self-destructive behavior. A must read for anyone who worries about how to support survivors.

California "Tar Heel" Longs for N. C. Home
If this book of short stories does not make a former Tar Heel homesick, then I have not a clue as to what would... it made me want to go home immediately. The stories are funny, sad, and range in levels from wonderful to great. A librarian friend gave me this book and it is one of the best gifts I have ever received. I plan to purchase several to give as gifts. My home is now in California, but my heart will always be down home in North Carolina.

Great for giving.......just TRY hanging on to your own copy!
I'm ordering what must be my fourth or fifth copy of this terrific little book. It's a comforting, warm, fuzzy, and sometimes funny set of recollections sure to regenerate the reader's own rememberances of home. I try to keep a copy beside the bed in my guest room, but alas, my guests are always so taken with what they've read before turning out the light that I always have to say "Just take my copy along with you. I'll get another." I've also given it to friends in the process of fighting terrible illnesses. They find peace in the authors' accounts, conjuring up their own memories of home.

Has A Child Been Molested?

The Question is more Important than the Answer
"Has a Child Been Molested" belongs in every criminal defense lawyer's library if you are going to represent clients accused of child molesting. This book will educate the attorney to be aware of issues and problems that are unique to these cases and that without the insights of Dr. Coleman and Mr. Clancy one can easily overlook to the client's ultimate detriment. The highest compliment I can pay to the book and its authors is that it made me a better lawyer and allowed me to represent my clients more effectively. As a criminal defense lawyer with over 20 years of experience, I can strongly recommend Dr. Coleman as a powerful expert witness for the defense in child sexual abuse cases. His testimony on issues such as suggestability of child witnesses, syndrome evidence, an rebutting false claims of physical evidence of abuse is absolutely necessary if these cases are to be presented effectively and fairly to juries. This book covers all the major issues of mental health, medicine, and interview techniques that constantly appear in child molest cases. The book points out how doctors and therapists have been corrupted to apply their professional expertise in the name of saving the abused child based on the presumption that "children never lie" about these things. Dr. Coleman and Mr. Clancy point out how this movement to save the children got started and how it has been allowed to run wild through our criminal justice system. More importantly, they provide information and guidance that will allow the reader to understand what is happening and how to prevent the misuse of medicine and psychiatry in the courtroom. Anyone truly interested in seeing the truth come out in a courtroom cannot afford to ignore this truly important work.

Extremely helpful for an understanding of the problem
Dr.Coleman's book provided me valuable insight while I was involved in the difficult task of representing a client accused of molesting his 9 year old daughter. The unfair investigative techniques and psychiatric myths foisted upon our juries in these cases are unravelled by Dr. Coleman's careful analysis of the issues. The straightforward explanantions by Dr. Coleman make this book a must for every lawyer defending these difficult cases. DAN BURLAND Esq. San Jose CA

Transactional Analysis 101
Superb explanations of why we become like kids again...

Not 5, but 10 STARS!!!
I swallowed this book in one afternoon -- an afternoon when I was not age regressed! Since most of America LIVES in a state of age regression, this is a hard book to come to open, and even harder to finish, if in that state. That may partly explain less-than "successful" sales.
But, if readers DO calculatedly read it from a healthy state, the awarenesses gained of the states of age regression are incredible.
Get this book and, when on a vacation or rainy weekend, when things are "calm" (and particularly if you are alone), read it. Watch what happens.
John Lee preaches what he practices: yes, he still age regresses. He told me so. But he is aware of it when it happens and manages it. This book showed me how to do the same.
It can for you, too...

Never too old
Having been trained in psychology, I am familiar with theories of regression. John Lee brings this concept down to such a practical and real level that I found myself changing without even trying. If you are stuck in patterns of behavior that you know aren't helping, this should provide some real understanding of how to get unstuck. Even my wife of 32 years has commented on the changes in me. I am buying 2 more copies, to give to my adult children. I hope they don't have to be stuck as long as I was.

Silent Cry
Published in Paperback by Wright On Time Publishing (01 September, 2000)
Author: Charles Lee
Amazon base price: $19.95
Average review score:

Who would have thought....
"A Silent Cry" really moved me. It is amazing how one can tell their memories of life, along with the trials and tribulations that one go through.

I found this book to be interesting, since I, myself, had to go through a lot. Who would have thought that reading this book would heal some wounds. Now I know that I was not the only one who has been down a rough road of life.

Charles Lee really told it like it was. I could hardly put the book down!

I have recommended this book to several people. As a matter of fact, my copy is now missing from my library!

There is hope in "A Silent Cry".
It has always been my opinion that if a book is good it should be able to transport the reader to another time and place. "A Silent Cry" by Mr. Lee did that for me. Uncomfortable at times while reading this, one walks briefly into a life of poverty, pain and rejection.

Charles Lee's book is a slice of Americana - Black Americana, that I found hard to put down. With each page you feel the frustration and despair of Mr. Lee, only to watch him rise later to yet another challenge. And the way Mr. Lee understates the painful events of his life, one begins to understand why his is a "Silent Cry".

Touched by a Silent Cry
I was very impressed with a "Silent Cry" by Charles Lee. The book captivated me with it's depiction of Mr. Lee's life situations. It was also very motivating to see someone who was faced with so many obstacles throughout his life, but never gave in to defeat but rather arose to each battle that life dealt him.

I particularly enjoyed chapter 7 when Mr. Lee finally meets his soul mate. It was enlightening to see love prevail in the end. I would definitely recommend a "Silent Cry" by Charles Lee to all of my friends and family.

Heart
When I first read this book I didn't exactly know what it meant. After I finished I did. It is really sad that kids my age or older or younger have to do more work than I could do in two years. It's not fair that they are being denied a childhood. They never will have the chance to fall out of a tree, or get grass stains on the new pair of jeans that they will never have. If you don't find this sad you need to find a heart, picutre yourself doing all the work. I don't think we could do it.

Thye Best Book
It was a stuinning book that truly opened my eyes

Thought Provoking
I saw a story about the man who wrote and photographed this book on 60 Minutes. It was so intersting, I bought the book. The book opens your eyes to child slave labor in third world countries. It's heart breaking to see these children being abused in this manner. The photos are a reality check, and the text will make you weep.
