Excellent Big Sibling Book
I think this is my three year old daughter's favorite "big sister" story. It's an adorable, original tale with very cute illustrations; just what I look for in a children's book.

Kissing is Monkey Business
Momo is a little monkey who is disgusted by all the kissing he sees around him, from relatives, parents and children, even strangers. They kiss for every reason, and for no reason at all, and finally he orders everyone in his household to stop: "No more Kissing!" It makes no difference at all, so he takes comfort in the fact that at least he is not a baby, because babies get the most kisses of all. Then one day he tries to comfort his new baby brother, and a very amazing thing happens! This colorful jungle tale is funny and silly, with just the right amount of tender sweetness. The illustrations are watercolored, and the lettering is hand done, but very clear. The monkeys look a little like Curious George, but have much more expression. Whether you like or hate kissing, this book is a winner.

Kissing...What's a Little Monkey to Do?
Poor Momo...he's decided there's just too much kissing going on here in the jungle and it's got to stop. Everytime he turns around there's someone kissing hello, kissing good-bye, kissing good morning and goodnight. If you get hurt, someone wants to kiss your boo-boo, and make it all better. And if you have a disagreement, they want to kiss and make up. "Why does there have to be so much kissing? It goes on everywhere, all over the place, especially mommies kissing babies. I wish no one had invented kissing." But all that is about to change when Momo's mommy brings his new baby brother home..... Emma Chichester Clark has authored a clever and entertaining story, starring an endearing little friend, that is sure to charm and delight all those who often suffer little Momo's plight. Her simple and witty text is complemented by bright and engaging jungle scenes, full of humorous detail and marvelous facial expressions, and little ones, tired of being constantly smooched by relatives and parent's friends will easily identify and empathize with Momo as he tries to avoid the often inevitable kissing ordeals. No More Kissing is perfect for preschoolers as young as two, and with its sweet and amusing twist at the end, is sure to put a big smile on everyone's face.

Well worth the purchase
...I have seen quite a few books cross my children's hands. Little Miss Muffet's Count Along Surprise was an immediate hit with all. They read it and reread it aloud to each other constantly. The imaginative words are cleverly knit together and flow with an ingenious rhythm almost completely absent in much of modern children's monosyllabic literature. It is a PLEASURE to hear--even over and over.

The illustrations are imaginative and full of vibrant color and action. They ably embrace the counting element of the book but more importantly, I think, they appeal to children's taste for inventive combinations of related bits of information: "Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey, when along came three magpies with taffeta bow-ties and silk vests of very pale grey." Or, "Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey, when along came nine gibbons with balloons tied with ribbons and bananas arranged on a tray."...

Fantastic Book for Children
This book was a huge surprise: it has everything in it a great children's book must have. The elements found in this book include:

1. Counting. My son greatly enjoys how the numbers of Miss Muffet's visitors keep growing.

2. Rhyming. One thing that really grabs my son's attention is rhyming. The rhyming in this book is very clever and definitely rivals Dr. Seuss's best works.

3. Rhythm. This book is easy to read quickly. Not that the book is short, but that the words flow extremely well. As a result, even an 18 month old doesn't have time for attention to wander.

4. Color. The illustrations are full of color and wonderfully illustrate the story. Looking at the pictures is as much fun as reading the story.

5. Story. The story is interesting! My son is excited by each page every time we read the book.

This book, on it's first reading, became one of my son's favorites. I even look forward to reading it!

Delightful. Plain and simple.
I love this book. It tells the story of Kuching, a wise cat who is well versed in the world, and Sunshine, his younger charge who has a rather adverse fear of anything dealing with family. Kuching helps to advise young Sunshine in the ways of the world as he purses the slinky Siamese Sirikit, discovers the rapture of catnip, and tries to figure out just what it is with humans. This book is full of puns and wordplay, and offers a totally believeable view of a cat's world. Don't miss it!

The surprise of my life
My husband bought me "The Way of the Cat" because I love cats. To my great surprise and joy, I discovered the best piece of literature I have ever read (I am in my 50's, and very well read!). I am only sad to discover that I cannot find more by DJ Enright in this vein, and that there is little hope of more, since Enright was born in 1920. So far I haven't been able to find out if he is still alive. "The Way of the Cat" is a beautiful example of poetry in prose. I suppose a cat-hater would never pick up the book. What a shame. This is a book for people who love WORDS and the brilliance of intelligent humor. Another shame is that the book is out of print. It should, without delay, be published again. It is beautiful in every sense of the word.

Great Book for Even Very Young
We received this book as a present for our then just turned 2 daughter. To my surprise, she immediately loved it! While I think the weighter themes of responsibility may be flying over her head, she can relate to the 'boo' kangeroo and his adventures with Lily. The illustrations in the book support what's written very clearly and colorfully making it easy for toddlers beginning to associate words with storyline to follow along. The sometimes hard to spot Blue Kangaroo in each frame also adds another dimension to this book for a younger audience - we play 'can you find Blue Kangaroo' - and she's very proud when she does! All in all, a great book to grow with!

Hold Tight to your Blue Kangaroo
Lily's very favorite toy in the world is her stuffed Blue Kangaroo and she takes him everywhere with her. Unfortunately, she doesn't always hold tight to her special friend and Blue Kangaroo waits and worries for Lily to remember him and scream "Where are you blue kangaroo?" At the park, she left him at the top of the slide. When she got off the bus, she left him on the seat and another nice passenger had to save him. And at the zoo, she left him by the monkey cage and the monkies threw him all over the place before she remembered and had him rescued. When Lily mentions that night in bed that they're going to the seashore, Blue Kangaroo panics and when Lily's asleep, decides to take matters into his own hands..... Emma Chichester Clark has written a wonderfully creative story about friendship and responsibility many pre-schoolers will be able to identify with. Her simple, gentle text, with surprise ending that will have your little ones giggling, is complimented by her vibrant, expressive artwork and youngsters will love finding blue kangaroo in the pictures before Lily does. Where Are You Blue Kangaroo is a story kids will want to read again and again and may even help teach them to hold onto their "Blue Kangaroos" a little tighter.

This is a great book
I've taught 3rd to 5th grade classes, and the students always love this book. The story is well told, and the pictures are wonderfully done. I've had to buy it three times now, because students who like it too much keep stealing it! I don't know why this isn't in print anymore; it drives me crazy, trying to find copies of it. Next time I'm going to put it in a safe...

More!
Reminiscent of Where the Wild Things Are, insatiable Billy gets mad at his mom's limit setting (he wants more of everything) and goes to a magical land with a lion. He plays until he finally gets his fill, and like Sendak's Max, misses his mom and returns to his own bed. Beautifully illustrated. If you liked Where the Wild Thing Are, you'll enjoy More!

Very Cute!
My daughter loves this book & has been asking to have it read a dozen times a day since she got it last week. The storyline is simple & clear--maybe too simple for 4-8-year-olds; my daughter's only 2 & she understands what's going on & will tell us what's happening next if we ask her. What really makes the book, in my opinion, are the illustrations. The dog & cat are both adorable & lifelike & the colors are bright without being garish. The cover of the book is attractive too, w/its patchwork of different colors--my daughter enjoys naming each block of color on the cover. The pulltabs are easy for little fingers to operate--if you're right-handed. If you're a lefty (as is my daughter), it's more difficult, because all the pulltabs are on the right-hand pages. But all in all, I would definitely recommend this book to other parents.
