The Power of Language
A friend of mine found this book by accident. It is a long story, but the fact of the matter is: there is a God! He read it and said this book will change my life and it did! Napsha is a genius, a writer so powerful, so inspired. There aren't enough superlatives to describe it. If Shakespeare were alive today, he'd write a "Sonett for Napsha". Musically, "Per Elise" would be "Per Napsha." Incredible.

A stroke of genius
Ms. Napsha has written a surprisingly comprehensive account on Cher. This becomes even more remarkable in light of Cher's current umpteenth "comeback". I sincerely hope that Ms. Napsha will be offered the opportunity to write another book really soon. She has an incredible gift of writing. I consider her one of the premier up and coming voices of a new 21st century generation.

Napsha does it again!!
I am again delighted with the inventive prowess of Cheryl Napsha. Not often does an author capture the benevolence of their subject matter, however Napsha presents Cher in a most informative and intriguing light. The amount of fascinating information is presented in a clear and revealing way with copious enthusiasm!! The novel is a masterpiece that I am proud to possess and reluctant to lend to my friends, but I do because one cannot be left without the astuteness of Napsha's magnum opus. Way to go Cheryl!!

I loved this book and liked the mix-ups about Cher and "Shar" you should read it.

Great series I love it!
I love these books!I's really funny how Cher talks using words like chronic, betty, baldwin, rampant, snaps, etc. and how she's always talking about her designer clothing.Aside from that, these are very humorous books. All of them are great!

Healthy eating and wonderful cooking!
This is by far my favorite cookbook! I've tried all 75 recipies in this book and loved them all! I hope Andy Ennis writes another cookbook on Cher's favorite foods!

Excellent, creative recipes with all the health benefits.
I don't usually purchase celebrity cookbooks, but this is simply a must for people who want low-fat, great tasting food. The recipes are easy-to-follow, the ingredients readily available, and the dishes are fabulous. Cher's chef, Andy, also provides a witty inside-look into life with Cher.

These surprised me: they're simple and good.
I saw this at the library, checked it out, and now I'm buying it -- and I don't usually buy celebrity cookbooks. EVERY recipe is good, sensible, and something I can actually prepare and eat! All my favorite ingredients are included; I plan to cook my way through the entire book.

A must read!
Great book- educates as it entertains. The Dragon's Tale gives young readers a window into the southwest and the architectural ideas of Frank Lloyd Wright in a playful children's mystery format. The beautiful illustrations capture the feel of Taliesin West, Arizona, Wright's winter studio/school where the book is set.

Anyone thinking of visiting the southwest with children should pick up a copy of this (or the first book in the series, the Case of the Missing Cocatiels) for the flight/drive out!

Very Insightful
This book was great. The stars in the book were very candid and insightful. I was encouraged by the way that everyone in the book made it seem so easy to get in shape and stay healthy. I would definently recommend this to anyone who is new to getting and staying in shape.

The best Painter 5 book!
This book is the best book on Painter 5! Examples are easy to follow. I do find new tricks in this book. Good for beginners and intermediate readers. I got a book called Painter 5 f/x which is very bad. I am looking forward to buy the Painter 6 Wow Book.

The only Painter 5 book you'll ever need...
Don't waste your time with the other inferior books on Painter 5, this is the book you'll grow to love. Even if you're a beginner or not especially artistic, this book will have you doing things you never thought you could do. The fact that the author and publisher have added a special update to their website for the new feaures in version 5.5 makes me all the more happy that I bought this book. You won't be disappointed either. This book does the near impossible by taking a complicated, multi-layered program and making it seem easy and within your ability to master. And it also makes it fun!

Tons of hints, tips & techniques
I loved this book. It contains tons of hints, tips and lots of different techniques. It also has a lot of color reference pictures and artwork. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, but some experience with painter will help a lot.

For a smaller book, it covers a lot of ground. It contains several different traditional art techniques with information on to make each brush look as realistic as possible by using different settings.

It also has instructions on how to apply scanned paper textures, color a scratch board, & make hot beveled metal. It covers create a tide pool, melt text in water, make a cloned mosaic, use light to add dimension & make draping weave as well.

Great Book, but doesn't include everything
This book is a great asset in helping one understand and navigate the complex palettes that come with Painter 7. It really helps the artist fine tune and accomplish the desired effects for specific examples. It also discusses the various ways in which to start a painting, either from a photo, a sketch or from scratch. My only disappointment would come from the lack of details on how to achieve the truly great effects seen in the gallery images. I think this book is a wonderful tool for graphic designers like myself. But it really skims the surface on creating great works of art. I think a lot of people who buy painter would love to be able to produce portraits and paintings of their favorite photographs. This book only has one tutorial on portraits and it is oil based. It also spent a lot of time on effects for type, animation and web based graphics. Doesn't Adobe and Macromedia already have these areas well covered. I bought Painter because I want to paint.

Painter is powerful--this book helps you get more out of it.
I love Painter--been using it since it was a simple black and white sketch program sold in an imitation cigar box years ago. But this program, which imitates art media digitally, can be a bit complicated to use.

Once you do get acquainted with the basics from the tutorial included with Painter, you can improve your layer techniques, web techniques and practice the projects in this book.

I frankly got this for the CD with extra brushes, papers, textures and stock material. But the ability to go through the examples in the book has improved my technique with Painter. If you use Painter 7 AND Photoshop, there is a chapter on combining the two. That's VERY valuable.

Highly recommended for Painter 7 users.

Just had to chime in . . .
When I saw a recent review that said the book has only one portrait technique, I just had to point out that it has lots more than that! A quick search turned up "Sketching with Pencils" (OK, the subject is feline rather than human, but still it's a portrait, p. 64), "Drawing with Colored Pencils" (starting from a sketch, p.65), "Gouache and Opaque Watermedia" (also starting from a sketch, p. 84), "Sculpting a Portrait" (using Chalk variants, p. 88), "Oil Painting on Layers" (as the reviewer noted, p. 180), and "Cloning a Portrait" (turning a photo into a painting, p. 215). Wouldn't it be great indeed to have more detailed explanations of the pieces in the "Gallery" sections? But I'm afraid that would make the book too heavy to lift! The step-by-step detail in the techniques is great, and the "Galleries" are there to inspire us.

Great Photos, Great Stories, and CHER GREAT OVERALL
This book was great. Going over the life of one of world's favorite people...CHER. The collection of photos and stories of the icon was awesome. I love the book and I can't put it down, cause it's so good.

"Cant Put It Down" !!!
Finally die hard Cher fans can now own a book with all the answers to the questions that have always been on your mind. Each page is filled with interesting info on the Diva herself. The pictures(and there are many of them) are beautiful, and some can even be removed and framed for display! The book is easy reading...but interesting reading. It touches on everything from Chers personal life to her life as a celebrity. The stories themselves are very detailed, and not vague as would be in rag magazines. The info is from Cher herself.I recomend this book to all.It promises to be informative and extremely enjoyable!

Its a great book!!1
The title pretty much explains it all. My husband got it for my birthday and it is great. The pictures are great. All those questions you have will be answered in the book. It talks about all different things. This book would be rated a number 10 if there was one in my opinion.
