This is the best poetry book that I have ever read in my life and most amazing thing was that I found out that the author dedicated this book to his wife who is from Azerbaijan which is also my home country. I think this is a great poet of the United States like Nizami for Azerbaijan or Pushkin for Russia...
I hope Americans will notice this guy for his talents and encourage him to continue writing works like this.

John Cary has got to be the most intelligent writer and poet ever!! Before my wife and I die we need to meet him. I saw the book at a friend's house and borrowed it to read while traveling from Georgia to New York and I read it outloud to my wife and she and I were both amazed at how this book flowed from his pages to my lips. You know, I have a masters degree and thought I was pretty smart and thought I knew a lot about US history but after reading this book a couple of times I realized that compared to this author I am such a baby. He writes with such a depth of feeling and to do that with history makes me wonder where has he been all this time or where have I been? Obviously, this can't be his first book? If it is, I can imagine what others will be like with more practice!! How does one top this? My advice, BUY LOTS OF COPIES AND GIVE THEM TO YOUR GRANDCHILDREN!!!

I have heard of John Cary from his book ENEMY FAMILY and wasn't aware that he had written another book until I was searching this website. Curiousity got the better of me so reviewed this work and bought the book and it is probably the best thing I have done in years. I have children and grandchildren who constantly talk about how boring history is to them but I when I read some of the chapters in this book, they didn't want for me to stop. Now I hate to say but I live in an area of the country where there are still some racists so I read the part about Dr. Martin Luther King and Civil Rights to one of these people and the actually began to tearup and I could tell they were holding back emotions. WOW!! What an impact. This taught me many of the causes of the various wars our country fought and not only the suffering of our guys but the suffering of our enemies as well. Very inspiring about 9-11 too!! Remarkable book!!!

I thought I was an avid reader and also thought I knew about life but ENEMY FAMILY taught me so much about so many things. Probably one of the most inspirational books I have ever read yet is also one of the greatest adventures I could have ever imagined. Can't believe I read a 200 page poem and after I finished the thing, I read it again and again. Try and take this book away from me because it is one of those books I will never ever loan out. Get your own because this is my most valuable possessions. The book is an adventure as mentioned and has some of the most exciting battles I have ever read yet is also a great love story. How in the world did John Cary come up with such a story and he seemed to do it with such great ease. Please folks, buy this book; you won't regret it trust me.

ENEMY FAMILY is the perfect blend of adventure, philosophy and downright brilliance I have ever read. I really hate wading through a lot of pages just to get to the point whereas the author gets right into the very meat of the matter on the first page and keeps me more than interested the entire time. I wish I could have each page laminated because there were times when I wanted to take it into the shower with me; it is that good!! The book is a long poem too which is something I couldn't dream of composing but it is nothing I would have expected in poetry because this book is VERY EXCITING!! Also there are some pretty violent parts as well and I would love to get one of those weapons the main character THE ONE uses. Wow!! A 2 meter retractable staff with razor tips on each end. It kept me on the edge of my seat during the entire 4 hours it took me to read it so I read it again and again. PLEASE MAKE A MOVIE OUT OF THIS BOOK!!!! It does put Star Wars to shame!!

There I was minding my own business and cruising through the website and low and behold look what shows up...ENEMY FAMILY. Alright, loved the title so I bought the thing. Best investment I could have made because this is an incredible read!! Who is this writer/author/poet, this John Cary? He writes like no one I have ever read before and just when you think you have the book figured and the plot and such, he throws in another curve or twist. Amish assassins? Yeti soldiers? The central character, The One, is an inspiring figure filled with peace and discipline yet possesses great power and insight and coming for a mission from "The Judgement Hall of Souls" makes him the ultimate judge, jury and executioner. I learned so much about myself in this work and about others that it made me want to better my life and look at things differently. This goes beyond science fiction and I would pay good money to spend a hour or even a minute with John Cary because anyone who can come up with something like this must be an amazing man. I heard he wrote a history book too; place my order now!!
