Captain Nemo is Great!!!
I grew up on Jules Verne, H.G.Wells, Bradbury, Frank Herbert and dozens of other classical science fiction writers, whos imaginations have given millions enjoyment with their works. I've loved many of these authors because of their use of science and adventure; taking us to far away places and powerful dream worlds. Captain Nemo does just that. Creating storms, making water, the ocean and the submarine technology, the spikes and the connection Captain Nemo has with Boondi, Beelzbub, Goliath, Hermes and the numberous sea creatures made for an exciting story. My two teenage sons also enjoyed this book. They said it was a fun challenge following the Trinity, the Avenger and the Nautilus on our globe, when the author gave longitudes, latitudes or mentioned places like the Puerto Rico Trench or The Romanche Abysasal Plains. I hope to see a sequel to this novel and to see this Captain Nemo's legacy continue. David

The perfect science fiction
I bought this Captain Nemo novel a few years ago in Chicago and thought nothing of it, until recently. It seems my fifteen year old nephew was visiting from New York and he had his own copy and a copy of the audiobook. Over spring break we got into a discussion about this continuation of the Jules Verne character. My nephew loved the giant Blue Whales like Goliath and the image of the underwater cavern. We also like the telepathic powers and the connection Nemo had with Boondi and Beelzebub. This author has also placed a wonderful love story between Ari and Vawn, as well as Nemo and Sherry Lynn. My nephew and I compared this to a lady friend I had in Chicago. Her career took her to the other side of the world and I stayed here. Nemo and Ari are creatures of the sea, Vawn and Sherry Lynn are from the land. Another element we talked about was redemption and good verses evil. Uriah is an exceptional fanatic who wishes to take control of everything his brother, Captain Nemo, has discovered and created. My nephew and I compared this novel to works by Shakespeare and we came up with many similarities in this authors style of writing. We noticed there is a sequel to Captain Nemo and we both look forward to reading the next novel together.

Captain Nemo is a mythilogical masterpiece!
Captain Nemo is one of the most exciting science fiction novels I have ever read. I had to do a school report on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mysterious Island. In those novels I felt Jules Verne could have gone deeper into the mind of the recluse, genius, scientist. Then, I found the Captain Nemo novel by Xavier Joseph Carbajal and I thought 'WOW'! This guy is Jules Verne reincarnated. The whole idea of Jules Vernes's character finally achieving immortality and peace, now being challenged by the very things that kept him alive so long, was a remarkable work of genius. Captain Nemo, with its super 21st Century submarines and telepathic sea creatures, is played out with exceptional style. I've noticed from other reviews about this Captain Nemo novel and audiobook, people from around the country and the world are fascinated by this innovative science fiction adventure. My book club and friends at school do hope this author takes us further with more of his Captain Nemo. Like Captain Nemo said to Captain 'Don Quixote' Riley -"The adventure has just begun!"

An excellent twisted love tale about Poe.
My nephew is in the tenth grade in New York City and he bought me a copy of Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story. This chilling love story has a dark magic to it. I have always love the old Vincent Price/Boris Karloff classics of Mr. Poes works. I was very impressed how this production captured the feel of a true gothic horror tale. I am also very impressed that this audiobook could gain the interest of my sixteen year old nephew and his classmates. I hope there will be a CD version and a book based on this wonderful story.

This Edgar gives new meaning to Spirits in the Night!
My friends were telling me about this great audiobook when I visited them in San Francisco last month and I just finished listening to my own copy. Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story is terrific! The way this story molds one of Americas most acclaimed poets into an arrogant, troubled genius is fun and eerie. It's as if this actor was Poe and Lenore did have this affect over him. My mother loved the way the third cassette had the Tell Tale Heart, The Raven and the other poems. My fourteen year old niece and my eleven year old newphew go with me now to look for old books by Poe so we can listen to this tape and read along to the poems. This is a wonderful idea.

A remarkable work on Edgar Allan Poe.
I'm just finishing up my finals for my third year in college and I was using Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story for one of my papers. At first, I thought this was a good collection of poems and an entertaining theory about Mr. Poes life. Well, to make a long story short, my sixteen year old brother used this audiobook and his high school class loved it. I've never seen him so interested in reading about a literary figure before. Ted also brought up some interesting points about Edgar Allan Poe, even my professors and I never thought of. My brother also wondered if other writers struggled. I told him about James Joyce, Hemmingway, Steinbeck and some others. Even writers in the book world today often struggle. This summer we are going to travel to Poes houses and take our audiobook as part of our research. After listening to this story again, I am finding out more and more. The actors and writers have a real good way of telling a story that haunts you.

Lady President has many powerful statements! it is a winner!
Because of the Presidential Elections coming up, my history class at school asked the question "Why hasn't America had a woman president?" This Lady President novel got all of us talking. Although this is a fiction the true ideas of stereotypes were excellently written into this thriller of a story. I read lots of the Oprah Winfrey Book Club Books and the New York Times Best Sellers and my classmates and I agree this novel was gutsy and sensational. I hope when the time comes for us to have a woman president, she is as tough as President Marie Arcola. I am writing this only days after terrorist attacks in the Middle East, just like in this novel, we will need a woman of great character to help America solve these problems. Sylvia.

Don't pass this one up!
It is great to see a book like this. After all the years of people, movies and tv skipping over the idea of a woman president, here comes an unknown author out of nowhere with one of the most exciting ideas in the book world. Xavier Joseph Carbajal's Lady President is an exciting statement with great colorful, believable players. All the way from Senator Trevor Thomas, the multi-millionare-Washington D.C., political bully, to Joey Adiar, the lone gunman. The way this author shaped beautiful, powerful women into this story was excellent. I picked this one up when I was visiting a friend in Boston. I highly recommend this one. This is a high spirited, tale of a woman's struggle for respect, wisdom for her duty and strength in a time of crisis. If you see this book in the store, skip the dustjacket and read some of the pages. Pick a page, any page. All of this story is fresh and fast paced. This author is going to be up there with Grisham, Clancy, Koontz and the rest of the top ten. And there better be a sequel.

Do not take this book lightly!
Prepare yourself, if you are about to read Lady President. The Author, Xavier Joseph Carbajal, has given us a ghastly testament of the future of Amrica, once we have a woman president. The stereotypes, prejudice and disgrace by male politicians toward President Marie Arcola, was presented several times throughout this story in an entertaining and powerful manner. The squabbling soap opera characters played off of each other like Othello and Hamlet, showing how the back room decision making by politcians has the world walking the tightrope of extinction. The paranoia, fear and anger played out by Sneator Trevor Thomas, Agent Naughton, the Chiefs of Staff and several other players in Lady President, added heart pounding subplots and scenarios. A friend of mine, who is a professor at Harvard, told me to read Lady President, and I am glad I took his advice. The theories of the Chinses and Iranian government added a stark reality to this story, as did the ghastly consequences of a possible biological and chemical weapons disaster, like the incident at the factory in Iran. The concern in America with gun control, abortion laws and future riots is a daring look at the reality of our country. Now, in the news, Elizabeth Dole is running for president. How will other countries treat her or other American women presidents? READ THIS BOOK!!! It looks like the author has set us up for a sequel. Kate.
