May we take our next caller please...
See my review for Mr. Camping book, "1994?" I bought this one in the year 1993 at the same time as the book "1994?". After reading a couple of chapters of 1994?, I threw both in the garbage can. This money could have been given to the poor, or any number of good causes, but I didn't dare sell it as some poor soul might be sucked in. This book is a follow-up to the book "1994?". Please stay away from this type of cult material.

Outstanding
Mr. Camping has done an outstanding job with this book. Although his final conclusion was off, it is clear that most of the information is right on track. Camping's book proves that the Bible is a very precise Calendar of History. He also shows us that God has given us a great deal of information about the timing of Christ's return. GREAT BOOK!

I dare you to read this book!
Are you ready? challenges you to deal honestly with yourself. If you care at all about your future and the future of your children you owe it to yourself to read it. And yes read and re-read it so the bible verses it illustrates can sink into your heart and mind.

More failed prophecy
It seems retired engineer Camping was only too eager to join the parade of failed religious prophets before him in this amusing slice of millenial madness. It stands alongside other classics like "666 : The Final Warning" by Gary Blevins and "Gorbachev! Has the Real Antichrist Come?" by Robert Faid as an incredulous and unintentionally hilarious record of the religious fringe in the early 1990's.

Some may be put off by the fact that the central tenet of Camping's book is a completely failed prophecy. But don't let that stir you from your beliefs! Just because Camping was totally wrong on every one of his predictions doesn't mean he is a total failure. Apparently not for some people, since many evangelists are still recycling the tired arguments from this and Campings subsequent book published in 1993. The need to believe knows no bounds in some circles, it appears.

A good prophet never misses a beat, and Camping still churns out his radio show, rarely acknowledging his brief trip into the world of failed prophets. Unlike Lindsay and Lahaye who continue to churn out sequel after sequel, Camping's career in publishing prophecy was mercifully short.

Welcome to Open Forum...
I listened to Open Forum during my college years from about 1992-1994, during which time I began to buy into some of the bible teachings of Mr. Camping. But, I became confused after he started asserting that he knew when Christ would return, since by this time I thought that he did have a deeper understanding of the Bible than most. To me, it was quite clear that from Matthew 24:36 - But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. So, I bought the book anyway to see what was said. So, people are willing to believe Mr. Camping's complex manipulations of the scripture and ignore the clear teaching of Matthew. I understand Christians' desire for the return of Christ, but that has been the case for over 2000 years. Now I read that Mr. Camping is asking people to leave their churches. Poor sools that follow after this deceived man. Just live your life as Christ lived His and submit yourself to his Church.

An excellent book on end-time prophecy
This has got to be one of the best books on end time prophecies. Camping takes hundreds of pages not too preach personal ideas, but to show from the scriptures that 1994 is indeed a spiritually significant year. Those who read the whole book are likely to find themselves with a much better understanding of end-time events.
The book was written a few years before 1994. In it, Camping methodically analysis scripture to determine if 1994 is a possible year of Christ's return. But, as part of the title, he very carefully puts the question mark after the "1994". He does this to emphasis the fact which he reiterates in the book - that there could be something he missed.
So although he doesn't cover the "latter rain" (Revelation7:9, James5, Joel2, Duet32) - most of the information remains astonishingly accurate. From the "Great tribulation"(Matthew24, Rev7:9) to the "end of the church age" (1Peter4:17, 2Thess2, Rev13, Rev18, Daniel12) - many end-time subjects are covered. Other such books I recommend are "Adam When?" and "Mystery Babylon:The abomination of desolation?" written by Harold Camping and Dan Webster, respectively.
Mr. Camping is able to teach doctrine in a way that leaves very little room for doubt or misunderstanding. His method is simple. Every single verse which relates to the subject material must be carefully analyzed. For most of us - that's an overwhelming task, but it's been Camping's job for over four decades. (He quite engineering in his late 30's to pursue a career in Bible study, which he's done to the present day - 50 years later). Most of his "critics" are those who have been unable to prove their points on the live, radio call-in program which he hosts ("the Open Forum"). When they find they can't discredit what he say's on a Biblical level, many begin to engage in character assaasination.
One thing that marks Camping as different from most other teachers is that he encourages people NOT to trust him - but rather to trust the Bible alone. In other words - he's not seeking followers, he seeks truth. The fact that he shares it with many others is a true blessing.
Camping's studies are almost always of unsurpassed quality and "1994?" is no exception. Mr. Camping is a genuine child of God and is well established as an excellent Bible student and teacher.
I encourage each person reading this review to get a copy of "1994?".

Totally without merit or truth!
White falls back on his own flawed thinking and whacky ideas. Harold Camping supports everything he says with the Bible, our only source for perfect truth. Judge for yourself by getting a FREE copy of: The End of the Church Age and After, from Family Radio to compare to the self serving hypocrisy of White who in comparison is using a prentension of faith to line his own pockets - I reiterate, judge fairly and honestly for yourself!

Dr James White is the only one who is "dangerous"
I was absolutely SHOCKED beyond words when I read this scathing attack on a ministry like Family Radio. Here is a ministry that has devoted itself, under the impeccable leadership of Brother Harold Camping, to being as faithful to the Word of God as humanly possible. And what a fine job they have done! If Dr James White can find anything wrong with such a noble pursuit (especially when churches everywhere have put their "Confessions" above the Bible itself), then I would ask Dr White and anyone who agrees with his nonsense (Mr Horth) to "make your salvation sure". God bless Family Radio, and God bless Harold Camping!

A Great Teacher who has gone bad
I came to know the Lord through an OPEN FORUM broadcast in 1986 when Camping was teaching orthodox Biblical doctrine. Yes, he had some outlandish ideas, but all of us will have some of our theology corrected when we stand before God. However, Harold Camping has gone over the edge. Why he has turned from the pure faith, and has turned his back on many of his friends and brothers in the faith is anybody's guess. Camping has abandoned all sound exegesis and has taken his interpretations based on pure fantasy and allegory to come up with his doctrine. It has broken my heart and the hearts of the people who respected him... What a wasteland Camping has made of a wonderful ministry that God had blessed! At 81 Camping is long, long, long overdue to retire!
