I spent many wonderful hours in my childhood reading these books. I would reccomend them for anyone with young readers. Just as entertaining now as they were 40 years ago!

Having read several books on the history and origin of the legends of SanDiego. I would class this as one of the most interesting that I have read. This book bears the price of purchase and should be on every SanDiegoans book shelves.

I thought the book was easy and enjoyable to read. I read the hardcover version and the pictures were great. I was in suspense the whole time I was reading.

Just like with their other book, San Diego's Old Town - Colorful Stories of the Past, the authors tell many colorful stories of San Diego's fascinating history. Alway being interested in a city's history after visiting, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I have travelled to San Diego several times and always enjoyed visiting Old Town, not knowing much about its history. After reading this book it will be even more interesting to return to that famous part of San Diego!

This may be a slender volume written a long time ago but the descriptions and information are still good despite that. The writing is crisp and the directions short so a good map is needed for those who wish for adventure. Sections for trips by car, trips by jeep (most 4wd rigs with good clearance), and hikes on foot cater to most visitors' needs. Some road closures have occurred since publication so check with rangers and obey all road closed signs.
