LOVING IT!
I am so loving this writer's Lambert series! What fun I am having trying to connect the dots and piece things together from book-to-book. If it isn't one thing then it is another to keep the reader guessing chapter after chapter. Something to please everyone is contained in this fun series! If you haven't had a chance to check one of Ms. Murray's books out "Friendly Enemies" is a great book to start with! Loved it!

Midwest Book Review - this author has me hooked
Friendly Enemies picks up where Forbidden left off. Homicide Detective Gabe Baldwin is still protecting Nouri Sommers from someone who wants her dead. Despite his growing love for Nouri, Gabe is still fighting what he considers "forbidden fruit" - giving in to his desire for a woman loved by his best friend. The disappearance of her husband, murders at Lambert, and knowing she has been betrayed by husband, friends, and lovers takes a harsh toll on Nouri. She's beginning to see a pattern to her life and does not necessarily like what she sees. The author does a good job of portraying Nouri's crisis of understanding.

Her wealthy perverted husband is still missing. From all evidence, his wealth has been ill-gotten by associating with evil men around the world. Her best friend is plotting with a vicious killer to end Nouri's life. The man she thought was the love of her life - Clint Chamberlain - is cavorting with a sexy beauty in France despite his recent protestations of undying love and promises to stop playing the field. And the man she is beginning to love refuses to make love with her out of loyalty to his friend and fear that she will break his heart. It's a frightening and frustrating time for Nouri.

A few more loose ends are connected in Book Three of the Lambert Series. Nouri inches closer to what may possibly be genuine love. The devoted men in her life tolerate each other as "friendly enemies" to safeguard Nouri and her fortune. And readers are left wondering what the clincher will be in the final chapter, Le Fin. Until then, Ms. Murray keeps us all hanging, waiting for answers and wondering at the outcome. Friendly Enemies is recommended for mature readers due to sexual situations.

"A Real Character Connection"
By the time the reader reaches the third book in this writer's Lambert series (Friendly Enemies) the fun story line and sharp character development have been so vividly described at this point the reader actually begins to feel a real connection to the heroine almost as though the reader is now a real part of the story! I love this series!

A fantasy to get lost in is an understatement!!!
Where to begin? This book ROCKS!!! I am such a huge fan of this new writer-- That being said, if you haven't had the opportunity to read THE LAMBERT SERIES then you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. I have no-doubt you will fall in love with this writer and her four-book Romantic Suspense Series. To fully enjoy, understand, and appreciate the overall intended polt of this ongoing soap opera type read you really should start with the first book in the series, Thief of Hearts, but I will tell you that this writer does a nice job filling her reader in of what they may have missed in the first two books of the series (with a prolog in book three) however, you really should at least read book three, Friendly Enemies, before starting this book, as there is not a prolog in Le Fin. All-in-all if you like your fiction reads full of suspense, romance, and interesting, then you really should consider reading the LAMBERT series. I think most people who enjoy mystery mixed with romance will enjoy (especially) the last two books in this series. I like this writer very much!

What a nail-chewer!
Before reading this fun book I had a great set of fingernails! WHAT A FANTASTIC FINISH TO THE LAMBERT SERIES!!! I was completely stunned at the ending of this series! I am very upset that it is now a done deal. I am bummed in a big way! Getting that out of my system I would like to say it has been some time since I have enjoyed reading a story this much. I enjoyed every chapter of each book in this series and I have no doubt that you will enjoy it as much. I think most lovers of romance and compelling drama will agree, The Lambert Series, is a series you don't want to overlook!

MORE PLEASE!!!
I do not want this series to end! I really love the Lambert series and would love for it to go on for another few books. The island where every wish is granted and every dreamed fulfilled has stolen my heart and I don't want it to be over yet. My four trips to the pretend island paradise of Lambert is the best vacation I have had the chance to go on in years! PLEASE BRING IT BACK TO LIFE AGAIN SOON!!! Fans like me need books like Ms. Murray's Lambert series to get me through the days and even sometimes through the nights.

Exquisite!!
From the moment My Garden Visits arrived at my door and I lifted the book from the box, I was taken. The beauty of the book first captivated me. It was through that very window on the cover that I was able to view a beautiful glimpse of a woman's life told with admiration by her son. Author Justin Matott will take you along to his gardens that are filled with flowers and plants which spark memories of his childhood. He allows you to sit on the teak bench with his mother where she came to visit him after her death. It is these visits that the author so lovingly describes in stories from his past. My Garden Visits is truely a pleasure to read. This wonderfully written book will be in the hands of many I hold dear as I share it this holiday season . They too, will step into the wondorus gardens so exquisitely described by Justin and enjoy the divine watercolors by Illustrator Victoria Kwasinski which adorn the pages.

A poignant journey into the garden of love.
In My Garden Visits, author Justin Matott masterfully intertwines the magic of being a child with the experience of adulthood.

In his parent's garden, Justin learned to love and to laugh. In his own, many years later, he learned to listen. And listen he did as his mother's soft vioce transcended reality to whisper in his ear.

"My mother would often observe me from her kitchen window as she went about preparing one of her magnificent gourmet dinners. I remember that I would pretend not to notice that she was watching me and I would show off to entertain her."

This heartfelt journey takes the reader to a place deep in the soul where the garden is always blooming, and a mother's love is never far. To plant a garden is to believe in miracles...to read My Garden Visits is to experience them first hand. A beautiful book with exquisite drawings...I would not hesitate to recommend it.

A fantastic book that will touch your heart and soul
My Garden Visits is a must read book for anyone who loves a Great read. It will take you away from the day to day hustle and put you in a beautiful place filled wih love, beautiful watercolor illustrations, and peace. I recommend it as the best book I've read in many years. The beautiful cover and illustrations combined with the fantastic talent of the author would make this a #1 choice for anyones Christmas list.

Wonderful Book
This is the kind of book that you read over and over, no matter your age. I read it first from the library, and the next time I went to the bookstore I bought it. (Well . . . I ordered it and picked it up when it came in, but same diff.) It starts when the young Princess Torina is given a stone and a slave when her father comes back from a triumphant war. The slave is the only son of the former king of the conquered country, and a few years older then Torina. Landen, the boy is called, is set free by the impulsive princess, and sent to live in the barracks. And when Torina looks into the crystal, she sees the baby her mother is carring being born a boy, and stillborn.

That is what happens.

Torina is a seer, a great one, who are very rare. She uses her crystal to see the future - though she can not see her own. As you can guess, she and Landen fall in love - but not before an evil falls upon the kingdom. Thhis is a book of love, betrayal, war, and despair - and hope. Read it.

You'll love it.

Awesome And Intricate Plot
I'm writing this after rereading the Seer and the Sword for the 5th time. This book is one of my all-time favorites. The best part is definitely the plot.(Just so you know what I'm doing, I'll use the first letter of their name to identify a person.)

After Torina's father defeats a neighboring kingdom, and brings home the prince, Landen, as a slave, T sets him free and he begins learning to fight in the barracks. T's father also gives her a crystal ball which he brought from L's kingdom as spoils of war. T and L become friends over the years as T learns she can see the past, present, and even future in her crystal. Then tragedy strikes. T's betrothed, Vesputo, murders T's father. L must run away because he is thought to be the culprit and T (who saw it happen)is imprisoned in her rooms by V. T escapes (I won't tell you how)to the kingdom of Desante. Over time she becomes an informer of King Dahmis, high king of Glavenrell. Meanwhile, L is also in Desante, under the name of Bellanes. He becomes the ringleader of a band of criminals under the command of King Ardesen, King of Desante.
Now that's not the end of the story - there are plenty of other twists. But I can't tell you any more, so if you want to find out if Landen and Torina ever reunite, or if Landen or Torina ever recover their kingdoms, you'll just have to buy the book and find out. But, believe me, it's an awesome book, it has an intricate plot, and it's full of action. It's a great book for teens and adults. If you never read it, you're really missing something.

A Review From Kat!!!
I recently read The Seer and The Sword, by Victoria Hanley. It begins with a young princess, Torina, awaiting her father comming home from a war. When he gets there, he gives her 2 things: a crystal ball and the son of the king he had defeated, Landen, as a slave. She sets him free immediately and he is put in training to fight in the King's army. Secretly, they become friends. She discovers she is a seer, which is one of the many things they talk about. However, the King's 'right hand man', Vesputo, is planning to marry the princess. Landen warns her about him but she only gets angry at him and remains vulnerable to Vesputo's evil plan. Read along as the evil Vesputo plots to gain the throne and make Torina's life miserable. But don't worry, she and Landen make it out all right!

This is a totally awesome book for readers my age (13 and up)! OMG. If you like mystery, suspence, magic, or stories of royalty, this book is a mixture of them all! Read The Seer and the Sword by Victoria Hanley today!

Another World is a total class act, unlike any other!!!
I have watched AW for 27 years. I work hard and like most people, have little free time to myself. AW is something I ALWAYS make time for. I am so upset that it has been cancelled. I won't watch any other soaps, I'm not even watching NBC anymore. There are save AW pages on the net, fans are writing letters and emails to the networks, Proctor & Gamble, and to newspapers and talk shows to show our support. Get involved and help us save our show. If not, at least we are voicing our extreme displeasure for being overlooked in the interest of grasping for the money of immature viewers. Last time I checked, I was the consumer! How did we go from baby-boomers to generation X? How did our turn get skipped? I am sure I will treasure this book, it's a shame that the history is ending like this.

Thanks, Ms. Poll for a deserving tribute
I just purchased the book and like many cannot wait to receive it. Thanks to Julie for taking the time to give Another World's biggest fans such a tribute to this show's rich history in both words and pictures along with accounts of some of its stars and crew and their most poignant moments. It is also very sad that NBC has made the decision to cancel this show. I am 33 years old and can remember AW since I was a tot. I remember the spin-off's such as Somerset and Texas and all of the wonderful characters that came into our lives. Some of whom are long gone and others who are still a part of the show. My sincerest thanks to all of whom have been a part of this show from the producers, writers, technical staff, wardrobe, make-up, and hairstylists, to the actors who have brought characters to life that viewers have loved and loved to loathe. To the decision makers at NBC, you all just do not get it, however you will. Most daytime viewers stuck with NBC because of Another World despite what your ratings indicate. Passions will not receive any of my time and with the pathetic direction that Days of Our Lives continues to take, I assure you it will not be hard to remove it from my life. So, good luck to your daytime programming organization because you will need it.

"Another World", my escape from reality has been cancelled
The 35th Anniversary Celebration of Another World Memorial Book is wonderful. I received a copy for my birthday and was completely thrilled with the quality of the writing and photographs. I have ordered another copy as a surprise gift for my mother.

I can't believe how many times my mother and I said: "Do you remember that?" or "look how young so and so is that picture"

As you can tell I am a die-hard fan of the program, and I was outraged and frustrated over the recent cancellation of my family's favorite television show. According to a source in New York, it has been implied that NBC Inc. feels that there has been little concern raised from fans over the devastating news. I beg to differ. Why would so many fans across North America be so viligent in saving "Another World" through rally's, polls, and petitions if we did not care?

"Another World" has been a terrific source of entertainment for my family for 33 years. My mother started to watch AW in high school. She weaned me on the program. I am sure that I uttered the two "Cory" matriarchs names instead of Mommy and Daddy as my first words. The show has never ceased to entertain us. We all work full time, and look forward to relaxing by watching the taped show every evening after dinner. Over the last few years we even converted my father. He has been well trained and versed in the various plots and schemes of the good, bad, and the ugly of "BAY CITY", and he too is now among the "enchanted" "Another World" fans.

I do not understand why a show as poorly written, cheaply filmed and acted in as "Sunset Beach" will remain on the air, while a quality program with brilliantly written plots and storylines is taken away from its loyal viewers. Not only does the show employ the best actors on daytime, it excels in set, wardrobe and makeup execution. We are never bombarded with story lines that "go on forever" or with characters that "talk" to themselves. Nothing aggravates me more than a program that continually "rehashes" storylines everyday. Die hard viewers know what's going on, we do not need to waste half the show filling us in on what we already know. "Another World" has never done this to us-unlike other programs such as "Sunset Beach" or the painfully outdated "Days of our Lives".

If NBC Inc. refuses to wake up and keep "Another World" on the air, "someone" else must realize the ecomomic and emotional value of this show, and "pick" it up. I hope for the sakes of everyone involved in the production of "Another World" that another network succeeds in doing so. It would be a great loss not to be able to "laugh, cry, and yell" at our favorite characters everyday.

Please do what you can to keep "Another World" alive. To those of you at NBC Inc., as Shania Twain would say, "DON"T BE STUPID", keep the show on. "Where there's supply and demand there's a way". I'm sure of it. I pray that I'll be watching the show with my kids, and grand-children far into the future.

Here's to another 35 years "AnotherWorld". You ALL are the best. Thank you for many years of fashion tips and frequent escapes from the sometimes boring reality of normal day to day life of work, work, work.

Sincerely,

Stephanie K. Boyle "Loyal Another World Fan"

THE gothic romance classic!
I first read this book in 8th grade, at a summer camp. I've lost count of how many times I've read it thus far; but I'm reading it right now and I'm 42 years old!

As others have said, this is a timeless classic that relies on a gripping story and excellent characters to hold the reader, rather than the sleazy sex scenes that fill many modern-day romance novels. I believe I have read all of Victoria Holt's books over the years (She has also written as Jean Plaidy and Phillipa Carr) and yes, they are somewhat formulaic, but they are always a good, satisfying read.

"Mistress of Mellyn" inspired my interest in all things English, from afternoon tea to English history. It vividly creates a world that completely draws you in, right up to the last page.

My First Victoria Holt Book & Still My Favorite
Set during the 1800s in Cornwall, England, "Mistress of Mellyn" follows a 24-year-old woman's (Martha Leigh) adventure as a governess in a haunted mansion owned by the widowered Connan TreMellyn and his young daughter, Alvean. While struggling with her emotions over Connan and his just-as-difficult daughter, Martha must also try and uncover the mysterious death of his wife before she, too, faces the same fate Alice did.

"Mistress of Mellyn" was the first book I ever read by Victoria Holt, and it also happens to be the first book Eleanor Alice Burford Hibbert wrote under this pseudonym over 40 years ago. It was given to me by one of my aunts when I was about 11 and is still one of my favorites, even though I'm not necessarily a romance fan. But if you are--or even if you're just a reluctant gothic romance reader like I am--, then you'll more than likely enjoy this one. There's nothing offensive or racy in it, so it's appropriate for all ages, yet it's still very suspenseful. Highly recommended.

A Romance Classic Must-Read!
Although this romance novel was written well over 30 years ago, it still stands the test of time. It has all the essential elements of a true romance suspense novel: Sprited heroine, dark/handsome/mysterious hero and a good mystery to follow and to decipher throughout the book. For those seeking a "romance" novel, don't let the "suspense" part hold you back. The sexual tension between the 2 main character sizzles! I think this is still Victoria Holt's best novel. Very absorbing book with great atmosphere. The 1st person voice (not much used these days)adds that extra dimension that you are right there with Martha as she ponders the mysteries surrounding her and her feelings for Connan TreMellyn. You will be totally satisfied with the ending!

An island paradise like no other!
I picked this book up in a beauty shop I go to a couple of times a week and began reading it as I was under the hair dryer and I literally did not want to stop reading the story, it was that exciting! I asked the beautician if I could take the book home with me and bring it back on my next visit she laughed at me and told me everyone of her customers that start reading Forbidden by Victoria Murray would ask her the same thing. As it turned out I had to order my own copy from Amazon because there were too many people ahead of me waiting in line to read it at the beauty shop. While I was at it I went ahead and ordered the other 3 books in this "MUST READ" series. I can hardly wait until the books arrive! If you like your romantic/suspense steamy then this is one series you owe it to yourself to read!

Imaginative and Fun !
I am a really big Victoria Taylor Murray fan and have been since I purchased the first book in her Lambert series, Thief of Hearts. The plot is unusual and I just love her imagination. Just order the next in the series and can't wait until it gets here! If you like exotic characters with a passion for romance and intrigue then this series is the one for you. A recommended romantic suspense series!

Captivating Story!
FORBIDDEN is the second book in writer Murray's LAMBERT series. A series that has me totally captivated! I look forward to the next in the series. If you are a reader like me and enjoy getting lost in someone elses world for a few glorious hours then Ms. Murray's Lambert series is the one for you!

Temptation
Published in Digital by Warner Books ()
Author: Victoria Christopher Murray
Amazon base price: $14.95
Average review score:

Inspiring....
Temptation is an extraordinary story of love, faith, friendship, betrayal, and forgiveness. It tells the story of Kyla and Jefferson Blake, their picture-perfect 16-year marriage, and their commitment to one another and also to God. Jefferson makes the mistake of sleeping with Kyla's best friend, Jasmine, showing that Christians are also faced with real trials and tribulations. The lessons of the story are illustrated in how the characters overcame this event-dealing with the issues of trust, betrayal, love, redemption, and forgiveness. The strength, belief in God, and the ability to act according to His wishes (despite desiring to do otherwise) is inspiring. This novel moved well and was paced just right.

The supporting cast of characters was balancing: Alexis and Brian both dear friends of Kyla and Jefferson begin a relationship together based on Christian values and go through their own temptations and issues, and Jasmine, the seductress, is relentless in her pursuit of Jefferson.

Murray sprinkles bible scriptures and words of love and faith to share the source of wisdom and power. It is a delightful, easy read that isn't "preachy" or condemning...in fact, I think it renews the inner spirit. This is a definite must read for Christian couples or anyone needing another's forgiveness.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.
Five stars is not enough to rate this book. I give this book an absolute 10. I have never read a book so inspiring, so wonderful, so full of everything that your looking for in a book. It's a page turner from beginning to end. I love the way the author quoted scriptures, that in fact helped to encourage and up lift me. Very inspirational. I just can't rave anymore about this book. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read in my life. I love the way Victor Christopher Murray made you feel Kyla and Jefferson's pain, their sorrow, their joys, their happiness. I mean she really made you feel what each character was going through. She just could not have done a better job. Oh and Brian and Alexis, Couldn't have happened to a better couple. I thank God for blessing Ms. Murray with such enormous talent. Truly his hand was in this. Victoria Christopher Murray, continue looking to the hills from whence cometh your help and know that he will do the rest. I will definetly be looking forward to reading more of her work. I would recommend this book to all. You won't be dissapointed.

Totally Captivating
How would you handle temptation if it were placed before you? This book asks that question and then continues to answer it in a story that touched my heart and strengthened my faith in the commitment of marriage. Temptation is an extraordinary story of love, faith, friendship, and forgiveness in spite of mistakes that a person may make through the course of their life. Temptation tells the story of Kyla and Jefferson and their picture-perfect marriage and their commitment to one another and also to God.

In addition to Kyla and Jefferson, we get a peek inside the windows of some of the other characters....their friends: Alexis, Brian, and Jasmine. From one scenario to another, I found myself talking out loud at the characters, smiling, and also crying as I flipped the pages of Temptation. It will take you from one situation to another in which you find yourself wondering what's going to happen next and just how strong STRONG is and how the characters will handle the obstacles faced before them. This was an easy to read book that I devoured in one sitting.

Through bible scriptures and words of love and faith, Murray writes this book in a way that will make you re-evaluate your life and your relationships with others and also with your inner spirit. This is a definite read for anyone who's ever faced temptation or one who has been placed in a situation in which someone else needed your forgiveness.
