All Meat; No Fat
The only problem readers will have is deciding which piece of professional advice NOT to highlight. By the time you're finished, your entire book may be streaked in bright yellow, like mine.

This is the only tennis book you'll ever need: it's perfect for beginners, yet contains enough tips from his professional days and those of his fellow legends that the most advanced players will also find it useful.

Burwash shows why his tennis instruction is famous in upscale resorts and clubs the world over.

A TOP TENNIS BOOK
This book takes a different approach to improving your tennis game but I think it's a good one. The author is straight-forward and doesn't hold anything back. While he does give detailed instruction on the actually playing of tennis and covers all aspects of play he highlights the ways to really improve your game by your positioning, attitude, thinking, etc. He goes beyond the typical "hit the ball this way" method present in many tennis books but breaks down tennis play into easy to understand logic. There is a lot of information in this book but nothing a persistent, and hard-working tennis players can't handle. You will benefit most by reading, then using that instruction on the court then reading some more and applying your new instruction the next time you play. Take it one step at a time and I think you'll benefit.

The Tennis Bible
When I first started playing tennis about 4 yrs ago, I E-mailed my mother a list of tennis books and said, 'buy 1 of them for my birthday.' Mom is great so she bought all of them. I flipped through them all, but I read, studied, and re-read Peter Burwash's book. I am now reading it for the 4th time and every time I get something new out of it. He discusses strokes, strategies, fitness and attitude. He does it all in a way that is easy to understand. I began taking private lessons last year and it was amazing how many things I learned that I quickly recalled from this book.

You cant go wrong with this book. From a beginner to an intermediate player, this book is a constant companion and contains help for everyone.

great read, a must for service industry employers/ees
Learn from others mistakes and accomplishments in the service industry by simply reading the very relevant examples Peter has accumulated over the years. Whether you are a frustrated employee, or a "successful" CEO, rating yourself and your company with these universal principles and qualities will be sure to give you some surprises. If you or your company can score a 10 on 10 on each topic; I'm sure you're having lots of relative success, no matter what the economic situation.

GET A GRIP ON LEADERSHIP
I've been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, and this is by far the most useful book for both the manager and the front line employee. Burwash states that "we are all leaders" and that is absolutely true.

I strongly recommend that team leaders, HR leaders, and front line associates read this, and USE it. It will make a definite impact on the quality of your professional and personal life!

A great gift for teens and their mentors
The kindness and compassion that must fill the heart of author Peter Burwash overflow in this little volume focusing on teenagers. His concern for the plight of today's teens is obvious, and his offering of solutions and guidelines for them to live by is an act of generosity that goes above and beyond even what most parents are able to offer their children these days. Burwash stresses developing good character, having respect for others as well as yourself, and finding real happiness through service to others, among many other important topics. But he does so in a very easy-going, conversational manner so that it never becomes dry or preachy. Chapters are short---and the whole book is only 122 pages in 5 by 7 format---so it's easy to take it in small bites, easy for some to read in one sitting, easy to carry along on a trip. Teenagers will appreciate Burwash's honesty and his appreciation for what they are up against. His respect for them is also obvious, as he thanks them at the end for what he has learned from them. As the subtitle, "If You Only Knew" suggests, he seems to be just taking this opportunity to share his own experiences and realizations with teens so that they can avoid some of the pitfalls he fell into as a youth. As parents we all try to do that, but sometimes it goes down better when heard from someone else! I have given this book as a gift to relatives and friends---both teens and parents of teens, boyscout leaders, youth group leaders, etc.---and they tell me they have found it extremely helpful. A resounding THANK YOU to Peter Burwash for giving us this wonderful gift!

Tennis made easy
This is a dream read for tennis players who want to understand WHAT is going wrong when things aren't going right on the court. You will learn how to coach yourself, as well as some of the most simple, logical, and effective advice you will have ever received. This book should enhance your enjoyment of the game, thus truly making tennis a game that you can, and will want to play for the rest of your life. Enjoy!!

The Ultimate Tennis Book
This book is one of many tennis books I have read over the years but, it is truly the only book I was ever able to finish. Many of the other books were not only boring but, often the mechanics, theories and strategies were confusing.

The beauty of this book is that it allows for individual styles. Many times we are taught or forced to copy an individual stroke or strategy but, tennis is a game not a mathematical problem.

I found myself being able to relate and felt as if the "old school tennis" chains were released. Burwash allows the freedom to be an individual player with their own flare. Thank goodness!

Excellent tennis book
I took the advice of the previous reviewer, and decided to order the book from the number on the web site. Sure enough, the people at Peter Burwash International were eager to help, and I received the book soon after calling.

In short, the book was excellent. Every area/stroke of the game was covered with simple yet effective information, including such topics as understanding the game, how to gut out a match, how to play on clay, and even how to beat left-handers.

I have played tennis most of my life, and even taught the game on occasion, and I have never come across a book as useful as this one. No matter what level you are as a player or coach, this book will raise your level immediately.

Tennis for Life will be a very strong addition to anyone's tennis book collection.
